There is NOTHING to recommend this facility. Even as a "Monster" supposed deal- you'd be better either upgrading or staying home. As for the rooms- There is almost no hot water. There is a thermostat in the rooms, but guests have no control of it- the ac seems to turn itself off during the night. There is no space on one side of each bed, so I had to crawl either over my husband or off the bed via the bottom of the bed during the night. There is only one plug in the bedroom. "Included" WiFi was not functioning at all during at least 1/3 of our stay with no communication of this information, no apology and never an idea of when it would be reinstated. Then there is the "all inclusive " food. Breakfast is the only partially passable meal, but only if you want to eat eggs or toast (that is toasted on one side only??). The oatmeal is the consistency of water. The one day I tried to eat lunch ("served until 5pm??) no one would take my order. Then eventually they told me i could come back in an hour (at 2pm?!?). The one day we ate dinner most items were not warm and the dessert i tried had such a bad taste, i spit it out. We arrived back late one day from a tour of Chiten Itzá and I was quite hungry, it was 10pm and dinner was until 11pm. Most everything looked to be cold so i asked if they could make some French fries (the kitchen staff was just standing around) but they said no. We tried to speak with them at the front desk x2 about these issues, but were responded either with platitudes and then with a defensive response bordering on yelling. I also witnessed the front desk full on yelling at another "guest" . The "golf course "? There is none- it's been closed for years. I do not think the owners of this facility care one bit for the experience of the guests. If you have read this far... PLEASE do NOT stay here. Not recommended. read more

This is our 20th year coming to Cancun Royal Sunset. It's always been a beautiful place for a week or longer vacation. The rooms are beautiful regardless if you have an Oceanview or Lagoon view. You can watch a wonderful sunrise or sunset depending on the room you are staying in. The food at all of the restaurants is amazing. There are two restaurants inside the Royal Sunset that serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The omelet lady (Rosita) has been serving us the entire 20 years, some of the best omelets I've eaten. The taco lady (Keyla) made some of the most delicious tacos and quesadillas. The lobster dinner is a must for those that love lobster. The hotel is on the beach so you get ocean access all day. Since we have been coming here for 20 years we have grown to know many of the people that work for the hotel. The bellhop (Javier) has always taken care of us and our luggage even when we forgot one piece of luggage at the airport. We will be coming back for another 20+ years since Cancun and the Royal Sunset is an amazing, wonderful, and beautiful place to vacation. read more

Some staff are very rude, in particular Enrique, the doorman. He was very rude and short with us and refused to engage if we had questions. We sat thru the sales pitch and made an unwise decision to buy a partial ownership which they told us would allow us to have the two bedroom suite rented out for a huge profit. Had a really beautiful vacation! Where to start; Beautiful location ; the beach and facilities are very clean. The food was Fresh, flavorful and aesthetically pleasing (if your a foodie like me this is a plus!) and It was like this in all three restaurants and at the yacht club. The staff from the front desk to the house cleaners were thoughtful, available, very friendly and helpful for our various requests. We felt safe and taken care of as two female travelers. We had a very well rounded vacation; experiencing the typical tourist luxury activities of the spas, drinks, nightlife, dancing, food, crystal clear beaches and white sands as well as the more local inland and cultural experiences visiting less popular ruins, jumping and swimming in the cenotes, eating authentic tacos, and just getting to know the people in some of the smaller villages outside of Cancun. We are big on experiencing the traditional culture of the country we are guests in. Strongly recommend visiting and engaging with the people and asking about their culture. Seeing and buying some of the beautifully handcrafted artwork and weaving. ALSO; Keep in mind we also did the "presentation" - the part everyone complains about being a scam on the internet. 1. don't go into debt or do anything to get into debt... you can do that in any country and being wise in that aspect will save you a lot of complaints that you cna avoid blaming someone else for- for us we had Derrick, there was no pressure and he was a very authentic, honest and genuine person- who is just doing his job. Unfortunately, this resort leaves much to be desired. Upon arriving, the hotel looks modern and clean, but upon entry, the picture changes. On several occasions, we were awaken by the sound of the staff in the nearby kitchen preparing meals, and incessant outdated music from the pool deck--same playlist of 80s songs and Michael Jackson. The food quality was very subpar. When one comes to an all-inclusive resort, part of the allure is to be able to eat a plethora of quality food. This was not the case at Sunset Royal. Both buffets featured variations of potatoes, rice, and pasta. One would think that Mexican food would be at least decent at a resort IN Mexico, but alas. We ordered nachos from the poolside bar, but they included scant numbers of beans and a strange sauce and no cheese. Additionally, the chillaquelles varied daily and often crumbs were served. During one particular breakfast, my wife's omelet contained remnants of the egg shell. She also ordered the chicken during a meal and complained that it tasted as though it was expired. The drinks were also of inferior quality. The only natural juice was the jugo verde (to be fair, this was pretty good). Moreover, I ordered a mango margarita on separate occasions only to find ice chunks in my beverage. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was that we felt as though we needed to appease the service and that it was not about making for a memorable experience for us. During one particular dinner, I ordered a mixed salad without tuna, and the waiter took it upon himself to alter the order. I had also ordered a sangria and when it arrived, the taste was poor. When I alerted the waiter, he proceeded to grab a fork from a nearby table and stir it and insisted I give it another try. As an additional note on the dining experience, one can only listen to a saxophone version of "how deep is your love" by The Bee Gees so many times! As many also indicated, the sales presentation was far too long in duration. While our representatives were friendly and cordial, it was not necessary to sit for nearly 4 hours; ride a boat across the lagoon to look at a closed restaurant; and also try to enjoy breakfast while being pitched. It may make more sense for attendees for the presentation to receive the highest accommodations so as to make a potential purchase more enticing. Indeed there were some members of the staff and aspects of our stay that were positive. The beach is wonderful--beautiful water and sand. The mariachi band was also a nice touch. Finally, the shower in the room was amazing, but was not enough to alter the overall impression of this experience--wholly inadequate. read more

Total bait and switch, showed up with the promise of a Oceanview suite, all inclusive, two adults two kids, and there would be no problems. Got a crappy lagoon view room, and then they try to charge us an additional $636 for our 14-year-old son, that when we made the reservation were told that that was fine he still qualified as a child. The video of the room they sent us video of did not match the one we got at all. The customer service team were absolute nightmare to deal with. I would never stay here again. Not to mention it smells like mold throughout the whole place, and the restaurants are pathetic. Stay away, total bait & switch. read more

It's is awesome here at this resort!! B4 anyone can come in they have you walk thru a sanitizing shower and they also spray your hands with sanitizer ... Honestly I was very happy and surprised because Las Vegas resorts does not do that "high volume tourists area". All the employees that we came across were nice, happy, and very friendly! Now while being honest I didn't like the alcohol selection but mainly because I prefer top shelf and they have the lower shelf brands... but they have a good stiff pour. All the employees that we came across was nice, happy, and very friendly! I have to mention two staff members that really stood out the most was Miguel and Hanz, They were awesome, completely friendly, helpful and took time to talk to us. It was awesome knowing that if we had questions or concerns we could talk to one of them and they would help us out to the best of their ability. You might say it's their job but their rapport building was not a put on it really felt genuine. They remembered from first talking to us days after when my birthday was and helped make it super special Thanx Guys!!! My fiance and I really appreciated it. I highly recommend visiting this resort. The lobby is nice but there is only one bar for hr hotel located here and it is small. There is a pool bar also for during the day (but it is not swim up). The rooms are modest but not special. The ocean view from our room IS amazing. There are not enough umbrellas by the pool. They offer activities daily, including a nightly performance. Yoga is included daily. Free Wifi and free shuttle and free water taxi to other three sister properties is included. The marina property offers a swim up bar, a wood fires oven and kayaking. The food is better than average but the same menu is offered daily and buffet tends to be boring. There are only two restaurants and a snack bar at the pool. At the marina property there are two restaurants, as well. read more

They are actually more high pressure that other resorts which is saying something. What did they lie about? Specifically the availability of the yachts at the other hotel. When we actually contacted folks who bought in past years was told that the $50 to $100 an hour and availability of the boats was a lie. They were much more expensive, and inline with what cost to just go rent a boat for the afternoon from a beach vendor. So don't purchase believing this. read more

Having stayed here three times in the last 15 years I can tell you the service has continued to get worse at each stay. I am not sure if it is the culture of the people or just this hotel. The specialty restaurants have gone downhill where service is deplorable. The rooms not on the 8th or 9th floor need some upgrades and maintenance. From the moment my husband and I entered this establishment it was never about US as their guest. So much so, the front desk wouldn't give us our room key until we spoke with the concierge staff. And when speaking to them they tried to hustle us into a 1.5hr meeting and for what I don't even know. Everything about this place is a hustle. Us Americans come here to RELAX not get hustled on. The beach was the Worst. You have people selling jewelry, hats, bags, T-shirts AND MORE all while you're trying to RELAX. And don't have your eyes close at the beach, they will actually wake you up. Even in our resort pool area, there were vendors. I have never been to a relax that doesn't allow you to relax. Walking pass the concierge station is DEATH. And you have to pass them, there's no getting away from that. They CONTINUE to hunt you down asking you to take them up on an offer concerning something you've said NO to about 50 times already. WORST PART was when they actually INTERRUPTED my dinner with my husband just to ask if we would take them up on a different offer. OMGOSH!!! A mess. And the fooooooood!!! TERRIBLE. Breakfast was decent. But we began to eat out. I normally enjoy taking pictures of my food. I have not taken a picture of a single dish I've eaten here. I have one more day here before I checkout. I just wish the concierge staff would LEAVE US ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention, for this to be a "RESORT" the rooms are outdated. We also asked for a king size bed and was given TWO beds instead. We called and asked about a king size bed and we were given some bogus excuse to why we have two beds instead of one. I don't even feel like dealing with anyone that works here. Coming to Cancun is NOT a bad idea. Staying here at SUNSET ROYAL RESORT is a TERRIBLE idea. They are more concerned with getting potential guest than honoring the guest that's HERE NOW!!! I am a member of this place and what I can tell people is to avoid this place at all cost. Ive tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but half way through my vacation they failed to meet expectations. This is such a terrible experience and to consider we pay for a time share at this place is absolutely a scam. This is my second time coming here and the first time where they try and convince you to buy a timeshare they are completely different but now that we are holders they treat you like trash. First off Id like to say that i was injured in their pool that has not been resurfaced for years. I cut my toe just walking in their pool. I complained to the members manager and all he did was offer complementary massages for the damages. Which I took advantage of but in reality the massage is a waste of money and conpensation. They price it at 100-200$ usd per person, but their massage therapist have no idea what they are doing nor did it even feel like anyone did anything. On the same day i was injured I had an incident occur with the restaurant's hostess, we tried to make reservations when we came down to eat at 7:30pm then she told me that it would take 30mins, not once did she ask me for my room number, then we came back at 8:00 to have her ask me for my room number for reservations which me and my fiance both looked at her confused and she looked stupid thinking she could get away with not knowing what she did wrong. So we gave her the benefit of the doubt and came back again 40mins later and boy was the food and service even worse after this and continuing the rest of our trip. I felt sick eating the food the day after and her service became even worse following our lobster dinner that was complimentary due to our weekly stay. Karen Ruiz is an absolutely terrible person she does not deserve a job here nor does she deserve any type of sympathy as she makes all the guest feel like shit, knowing this because the people she sat next to us Thursday night complained about her service as well. I will never come back here and i will do everything to call corporate to get her fired and file for a law suit against their unsafe and unreliable services. So at first glance, this place looks great. Plenty of staff, nice views, a handful of restaurants to choose from, shows etc. Didn't stay here too long due to the near constant sales pitches to buy a time share and the buffet felt like the same ingredients just recycled into 3-4 other "different" dishes. I ended up taking part in a time share presentation to learn a little about them. I made it very clear I would NOT like to buy into the time share but if they had the time I wouldn't mind learning about it. The "presentation" ended up being one sales person assigned to us to show us the different room options you could purchase as a time share holder. The rooms were very nice indeed with spectacular views. After asking a couple of questions I was ready to leave.. Not so fast. They take you down to a common area (aka a lion's den). They are persistent in offering you alcoholic beverages in hopes to get you in a good enough mood you'll say yes and sign onto a $200,000+ time share. Now, if time shares are your thing, by all means more power to you. However, I assumed I made my intent very clear from the get go and as my host realized I was sticking with "no", she proceeded to get 2 other gentleman to see if they could sway me... This only annoyed me more and I busted out a calculator to show how the time share would not be feasible for ME. Doing this however, made my host turn nasty. She went from being a total doll to refusing to acknowledge my existence. Meanwhile all around me there are bells and loud DJ music going on announcing other people buying into time shares. Poor husbands burying their faces in the tables. Finally got out only to be introduced to another gentleman who will offer a few different vacation packages as a one time only deal. So after all this (a total of almost 4 hours later), why 3 stars? On our way out there is a gentleman by the name of Oliver at the gate. This guy cares a lot about tourists enjoying the other activities of Cancun he gave us an amazing deal for just 2 of the activities we wanted to do during our stay and told us if we liked the tours he provided for us, to come back to him and we did. After being swindled right out of the airport, and wasting time with time share sharks, Oliver was a breath of air. GO SEE OLIVER for ALL your tour needs. From one tourists to all tourists, Oliver is extremely friendly, honest and you won't have to put up with a big sales pitch every time. read more

We stayed here for 7 nights with the all-inclusive package. My parents own the timeshare. First off, you need to negotiate ASAP. Let me explain. After you check-in, the front desk does not give you your hotel keys right away and keeps them hostage until after you sit and meet with a "VIP" concierge person. Our concierge was Jesus. Btw, do not lose your wristband. It is for your all-inclusive package and is about $85 to replace. Anyhow, with this meeting with the concierge, the resort tries to get you to sit through a timeshare spiel (sales pitch) the next day. DO IT. However you need to negotiate with the concierge what activities you will get for free (or almost free) in exchange for your time listening to a time share sales pitch. They will start off with a romantic dinner in their high-class restaurant on the 8th floor. Don't do it. You want to go to Xplor (zip lining, 4 wheel adventure, etc) and the Isla Mujeres Island catamaran tour. Those are the two most epic trips you could get. After all, they're making you take 6 hours of your day to listen to their sales pitch. Ok, now onto the rooms: clean and well kept. There are some very minor things I saw like small rust stains on the ac cover and a dusty AC filter - but overall nice. Even with the AC running, it still gets pretty humid in the room (then again we're in a humid part of the world). Our suite had a jacuzzi tub, two full bathrooms, a kitchenette, and two small balconies overlooking the ocean. BTW, you want a beach-front view. The lagoon side is ok, but not as great. The hotel does a good job of having nightly show performances. I attached a photo of what goes on. Along with those nightly shows is a special buffet which changes per night. The shows ranged with different themes such as "Decades", Mariachi, Michael Jackson, Urban, Karaoke night, Int'l Show, and Caribbean. The resorts buffet's were just OK. They get the job done. Don't expect Vegas style buffets. Recommendations for eating at the resort: * Breakfast - order a fresh omelette * Lunch - eat at the beach. The pool bar has good burgers and tacos (tacos not every day). * Dinner - Capriccio Italian restaurant. Every night. Tip well for best service. Sit in Dañiel's section. Alcohol: The pool-bar is OK. Not too many top shelf items out. Tip well to get stronger drinks. Don't be afraid to ask them to pour heavier. The lobby bar is good, we mostly had bartenders who poured well. Definitely request all drink with their top shelf alcohol. The house alcohol (Tequila, Whiskey, etc) is not strong or good. Beach: There is a lifeguard on duty from 8:00am(?) until 6:00pm. The beach has a many open beach chairs/Tiki shades and plenty of cabanas. The surf is not rough and the rip-tide is very weak (that's a good thing). Getting around: The resort offers a free on-the-hour shuttle to the other 3 sister resorts (Laguna Suites, Sunset Marina, and Ocean Spa). Shuttle schedule picture attached. The public bus transportation is the best to get around town. It costs 12 pesos per-ride, per-person and the best part is that you don't need a bus-stop to get on or off. Just flag one of them down and they'll stop for you. The R-1 and R-2 bus routes are the only buses you need to be concerned with. R-1 brings you all the way to its last stop at Mercado 28 (Market 28) then turns back around to the hotel zone. Overall, we had a blast at Sunset Royal and want to come again! read more

I had high hopes for this resort based on the reviews and family and friends recommending this place, but unfortunately my experience fell short. The atmosphere was great, however, the service was inconsistent. There needs to be better training implemented with employees. For example, my fiancé and I would order room service, we would have the person on the other line repeat our order twice and they still manage to mess up our order, so we kinda just gave up and hoped we at least got something we liked. Additionally, I believed the staff are overworked and underpaid, the servers were nice initially, but they seemed overwhelmed and it took quite a while to get their attention when we needed something. Another experience that I found very weird was having the staff sweep under our feet and clean the floor all while we were eating. I understand that they are just doing their job, however, i just find it ill mannered. Overall, the potential is there, but the execution was disappointing. read more

My co-worker recommended this vacation package which I thought was a good deal. But one week was too long at this kind of hotel. We got the all inclusive but there's really only two restaurants to choose from during the day and the food being serve was pretty much the same in both places. Cocktails were not good at all. By the end of our 3rd day, we were going somewhere else to eat as the food here has become so predictably sub par. This place is not kid friendly at all when it comes to food menu and amenities. They don't have any vending machines for late night snacks nor they have a laundry machine we can use. Our room has the lagoon view which was nice, however the ac is so loud when it's coming on and then the lowest temperature it can go was only 20 degrees celsius, not nice when you're out too long and want to cool off in your room. Another major complaint we have is the bathroom sink. It was designed so awkward that we can't use the sink without the water overflowing and splashing all over the counter. So frustrating. The staff were nice and helpful including the servers and housekeepers. If you're staying for 2-3 nights without kids you might be okay. Otherwise, I recommend going somewhere else where yo can get your money's worth staying at the resort all day without having to go somewhere else and spend money for food and amenities. read more

Went here for a getaway and unfortunately it was a disaster at the very 1st day. After checking in they will ask you to proceed to the concierge to explain to you the hotel amenities at the same time they will FORCE you to join the presentation about the TIMESHARE. "BE AWARE! THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL!!!!!" I can't stress that enough to everyone that are planning to have a wonderful vacation. If you are thinking about refusing to join the presentation the manager Leticia Molina will call the concierge Phone and ask to speak with you to FORCE you to pay $300 over the phone for not joining. According her the all inclusive hotel deal that we have has a contract to join the the TIMESHARE presentation. Basically you will waste 1day of your vacation for this very unprofessional and ethical way to sell you their property. Besides the issue about forcing you to attend the timeshare presentation they give us a double bed room and our card key is not working when we 1st end hotel room and need to wait 5mins to get someone to open it. We need to wait for our 3rd day before they move us back to a single bed room because I ask for it every single day. I gave them 2start because some of the employees are nice and do extra steps to make your vacation wonderful. I would like to give thumbs up for "LUIS and LIZET" at the front desk for taking care of us. If its not for those 2 employees i will rate this hotel 1star only because "IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER" they will not treat you fair even they know that you are paying for your hotel. This hotel have 3 RESTAURANT. We only tried Italian restaurant (Capriccio). Food was ok but cocktails are not that good. Alcohol is very little. They also have Buffet (Acuario) Food here is good. They also have night event in here that makes our stay better. They have different performers every night and have a open bar that serve a better quality cocktails. SHOPPING center about 10mins walk. You will get all you need from shirts, shorts, swimwear etc... Price are expensive since it is inside the Hotel zone. WHO: bachelorette party WHAT (PROS): - location (it's on the strip; walkable to the flea market, bars, and clubs) - 3rd party vendor onsite located where Capriccio provides great customer service and deals compared to the VIP Concierge - pool - white sand beach WITH lifeguards - spa; GREAT discount $30 off per person) and able to book a large group (we had seven out of the nine in our group that booked for massages and/or facials); two jacuzzis; outdoor shower; choice of getting a massage by the gazebo - private shuttle service available for pick-up and drop-off to/from the airport - friendly staff (for the most part); (LOVED our server Mario Capriccio and the bartender Geovany at Aqua Grill) - breakfast buffet at Acuario was great - gym facility well-equipped - karaoke in the lobby was an unexpected but appreciated treat WHAT (CONS): - we booked four rooms under ONE credit card in March 2018 for our stay in November/December 2018 and were NOT granted rooms nearby each other or blocked out on the same floor; upon checking out the front desk chastised us for that but I mean you didn't offer it or allow it so how is that OUR fault? - others in our group had to keep switching rooms due to "odors" and questionable thorough cleanliness of the rooms - booked for Ocean View rooms and saw construction of the new resort being built next-door instead - the hotel is dated and oddly shaped - would have been nice to have a welcome from the resort upon check in to set the tone of the vacation; instead it felt like a transaction instead of a warm welcome (a map of the grounds and a complete list and explanation of the amenities and of our all-inclusive stay was NOT provided by the staff upon checking-in) - GREAT inconsistency among room set up (i.e., cleanliness, bed runner with folded design upon each room cleaning, robes and slippers not available in all of our rooms) and staff saying different things to different people (i.e, VIP concierge telling some in our group that they're closed at 8PM and at 7:40PM when others in our group arrived to inquire about daytime excursions they claimed to be closed since 7:30PM) - concierge desk claims to be "VIP Concierge" service but was for the most part NOT HELPFUL; VERY rude and gave us different information (see above-mentioned bullet point); the 3rd party vendor was SO much nicer and accommodating - stingy with water bottles - rude customer service unless tipped for every little thing - at the Lobby Bar, the bartender Cruz got visibly upset when on different occasions, two of our group unintentionally broke a shotglass; that's to be expected when using glass - dark rooms - not enough outlets in the rooms - needs more variety in cuisine options; other restaurants regardless of time of day/meals served was mediocre - although the performance at the Moonlight Theatre was appreciated, it would have been nice for it to have been more culturally significant (e.g., folklorico) vs. a disco performance - our massages and facials were definitely appreciated and relaxing; HOWEVER: 1) upon checking-in there was a LOT of miscommunication between the staff on our group filling out paperwork and which massage therapist was going to service which people in our group; we visibly saw them outright bickering with one another and slightly raising their voices and obvious facial signs of dismay with one another until the whole ordeal was sorted out 2) the bride and another in our party took their massages out on the gazebo but the noise level from BINGO at the pool and the construction next door was VERY distracting 3) one in our group had a single room (others were able to have theirs together in pairs); AFTER the massage had already started, the massage therapist stopped the massage and then remembered to put on music, which was slightly awkward 4) at the end of our services that were rendered, our massage therapists kindly asked us to fill out surveys, but we all DID NOT appreciate how they hovered over us as we were completing our surveys, which made us feel obligated to say nothing but positive things on our surveys vs. complete positive/negative feedback WHEN: end of November, beginning of December read more

We bought our membership in 2007, we were told if we don't use it they will buy it back which was total BS SPAM sales pitch. As part of the Sunset family, you have free access to the facilities and activities at this resort which came in handy as I was staying at the much smaller Sunset Marina. Located right on the beach, the Royal was well placed within the Hotel Zone as they call it. The largest the group, the resort was the busiest and had the most amenities. I spend most of my time here rather than the Marina, and would take the free water taxi for scenic route along the lagoon (i saw some iguanas!!). As I didn't stay here, I can only review the facilities/activities. Pros: High quality entertainment, I highly suggest going to the Urban Show. They have an amphitheatre outside for all their shows. Good food selection and restaurants, even having some good deals or specials. Located close to the tourist "downtown" so for grocery shopping or clubbing 20 min walk or 5 minute bus ride. Have a spa and gym, which lockers. Can even take a shower after spending the day at the beach and don't want to go back before the show to your hotel room if staying at the other ones. Yoga on the beach Palapas and lots of seating, with beach volleybal area. Activities geared specifically for kids, with own coordinator. Seemed more accessible for those with difficulties: ramp to the beach plus stairs, elevators to get to the rooms, Cons: A bit pushy with the spa sevices, free 5 minute messages by the pool the whole day every day. Concierge was hit or miss, had some goods ones and others not super helpful. Pool compartively small for the size of the resort, but I came for the beach so it didn't matter. Mostly for small kids or famillies. Construction currently going on next door, so a bit noisey and less relaxing at times. read more

I'm going to start with this: we got this at a discounted rate though a travel agent. This place was truly an amazing experience for my fiancé and I but we had some rough patches during our stay. In our first room, the sliding doors wouldn't shut correctly because the rails were damaged and we could hear the wind/breeze from the ocean. It kept me up at night or would constantly wake me up. It was very annoying and it was a problem for two nights until they finally changed our room. We were downgraded to a smaller room with a lagoon view but there was no balcony door problems, so that was great. Somehow, while changing rooms, one of my fiancé's swimming trunks got lost and they couldn't find them at all. Not their fault but we asked if we could look for them and they were not in the old room at all and housekeeping said they didn't see them at all. The food at the buffets were consistently lukewarm (not hot, less appetizing) and always rotated throughout the 4 days we were there. The menu barely changed. My fiancé and I got a couples massage and ladies who gave us the massages got into an argument right outside of the massage room right before coming in. We heard everything... not so relaxing. Anyways, enough bad stuff!! The beaches are amazing, the waiters and waitresses are super friendly, and the drinks were great. The sand was white and the ocean was lovely. What a disappointment once again. We've been coming here since 1992 and nothing changes ... Except the rooms are older and older and not kept up. So happy our contract expires in two years. It's a hassle getting here it's a hassle after you get here and they want More money for maintenance every year! What are they doing with that money if our room is below par??? Got our room changed to Elite because it's a slow season. However, if we want to stay in the updated suites next time, we have to spend another $13,000 and go "lifetime" which AIN'T gonna happen!!! My boyfriend and I stayed here from November 13-20, 2020. This was our first time in Cancun and our first time at an all inclusive resort, so we didn't know what to expect. The resort itself was beautiful and right on the beach. When you walk in, they take your temperature, give you some hand sanitizer, and have you walk into this sanitizing pod that sprays you down with sanitizing spray. You go through this routine every time you enter the resort. The rooms were very nice as well, and they stayed nice and cool even without the AC on. The fridge was stocked with waters, sodas, and beer, and the kitchenette had a stove, microwave, pots and pans, dishes, and silverware. Our room was facing the beach, and had a sliding door with a tiny patio, just big enough to step out on and enjoy the view. The pool and beach were very clean, and were the only areas that you didn't have to wear a mask. The resort has two restaurants inside, and a snack bar outside in the pool area. While we didn't have a chance to try the snack bar, both of the restaurants were great. They are buffet style for breakfast and lunch (with the staff serving you at this time due to COVID), and a la carte at dinner time. Speaking of the staff, they went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! My boyfriend has celiac's disease so he can't have any gluten, and they made sure at every meal to offer him gluten free options. They even cooked special pasta for him that was gluten free and made meals that weren't even on the menu so he could have a delicious meal without feeling sick! A few of the staff members we interacted with and loved were Mario Pacheco, Henri Campos, Capitan Carlos, Francisco Sinto, Edwin, Gonzalo, Alberto, and Erika. The resort was nice. Very good caring service. But upon our arrival we had to wonder around the premises for an hour since our room was not ready. Stayed in a beautiful 2bedroom, 3 bth suite it had a kitchen, 2 jacuzzis, beautiful ceramic tiled baths and floors. Clean white linens, smelled good. The All-inclusive food was terrible. It was gourmet and plated beautifully but Food was bland. The liquor drinks and natural juice drinks were watered down not sweet. I would say this is for families who are vegetarian or can't have seasonings. I love the palapas and the white beds on the beach so gorgeous. The hotel is very sanitized as you get in the van from airport to the front door of the hotel they spray you down and give you sanitizer. Everything is no touch technology. The hotel all around is nice just not the food had to eat somewhere else at times. There were vendors out selling on the beach and the resort pressuring you to buy souvenirs, I had to always try to duck and hide. Going to the flea market for souvenirs was caotic, everyone wanted you to buy from them. You can't pass a vendor without them pressure you to buy. I'll give another review after the presentation of the other resort they took us to. I recommend the zip line, atv and cenotes with casa de Puma best low prices. Bring your water shoes or plan to pay $20-40 US for one in Mexico. Guys there at Casa de Puma are super friendly and hilarious and they had the cutest little monkies that let you cuddle them like a baby. We had fun! We had the worst vacation ever! The hotel is pretty nice, food is great, and the people working there are kind and courteous except for 1 person, LETICIA MOLINIA. She's one of the representatives who explains about the amenities, etc. First of all, she's not knowledgeable about the place she works for, gave us wrong information. Worse is this incident: While we (with my husband and 3 kids) were waiting in the presentation, one rep said I need to go to the lobby because I have a call from the person who we met during our check-in, so I went to the lobby and took the call. She told me I need to pay an extra $420 asap before We could continue with the presentation. I asked why, she said it's because only 2 adults and 2 kids are included in the package. I was told back in February before we bought the package that since my daughter is still 12 and the youngest is just a baby (1 y/o) we are good, no additional fees. I tried to explain this to her but she just continued talking, harassing me that I need to pay right at the moment. She said we can be kicked out of the hotel if I don't pay. I was confused and was threatened so I told her, ok let me just get my wallet from my husband in the presentation room. She said "I need it now, you have the credit card, you won't be allowed in the presentation without a credit card." I told her yes so let me just get it from my husband. We went on circles, harassing me to give the card details right at that moment. How can I give the details if I don't have it with me??? So I spoke to the other rep who was there in person and explained to him and he understood. I told him it would be nice if Leticia will apologize to me. He spoke to her on the phone and gave me back the phone. Leticia said "My coworker said I should apologize so I'm apologizing." This could go on and on....
