Located halfway between Boulder City and Summerlin in Henderson, this park is massive and has something for everyone. My friends and I went to play pickleball, and the park did not disappoint. It features plenty of dedicated courts, an easy online reservation system, and a strong community of players. Even if you show up solo, you're very likely to find a pickup game. Parking was also plentiful and convenient. What a fantastic park! read more

Hey there Yelp Friends! I decided to join a coworker to play some tennis last week, after school. I have not played in a long time, so I do not have locations scoped out. I was lucky the grip on my tennis racket is still in fairly good shape...lol. Anyways, she invited me to meet at Sunset park courts. It sounded good so I did. We arrived as the sun was setting. The North half of the courts were lit and in use. We got onto the court and hit a few balls. It was getting dark quick and soon I was having trouble seeing the ball come over the net. We walked around to see about a light control. No luck. We spoke to a few people. They seemed just as frustrated as we were. There is a great printed sign about the rules of the park. There is nothing posted on a sign that states how to control the lighting. There was a number to call for park services but it was after hours. After googling our questions and walking around the restroom building and the exterior of the courts we turned on the flashlight to our phones. There is an old flyer in an enclosed glass board that has info on how to reserve the courts in tiny print. Says nothing about the lights. You can't get on the app and reserve a court without paying $6 per 1/2 hour. First, it's a public park. Second, I had no idea we were going to need a credit card to hit tennis balls on the courts at Sunset Park. Lastly, it should be posted up on a sign that is well lit. It should be obvious. It should also be posted online, so that when we google where to play we know ahead of time. I looked online. I don't think we are suppose to be paying for the lights. There are back boards in the courts so we were able to hit the ball against the wall for a few minutes before we left. The courts look to be in good condition. I am so sad. I was so excited. The bathrooms are not far from the courts and the parking is right there so I appreciate that. This was my experience. This why I am giving a 3 star review. read more

This is one of my favorite parks in Las Vegas. Recently, it has hosted the Renaissance festival in the park! On a Friday in October, I ended up stopping by Sunset Park. It's one of the major park spaces in the area. It has a wide variety of amenities and recreational options! This park is large! It covers over 300 acres with about 200 acres developed for facilities and landscaping! Sunset park has the following facilities Softball Fields Little League Fields Basketball Courts Tennis Courts Sand Volleyball courts If you're looking for other activities, Sunset park does have multiple playgrounds, splash pad, shaded picnic areas, and open turf for recreational use. There are some 5k races that are held in Sunset Park. Since it's so large, the trails are several miles long! You can walk or jog on those paths, giving a variety of options! There are dog areas and a pond too! Throughout the year, several events are hosted in Sunset Park. I was just recently here for the Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival! The festival had so much food, performances, crafts, and festivities! It was a lot of fun! The park is open daily from 6:00 A.M until 11:00 P.M. There are Open and reservation required picnic areas if you're looking to host an event or a party! I always enjoy going to the Sunset Park. One time, I did participate in the Super Hero Run 5K at Sunset Park years ago. It has amazing trails to run on! read more

This is one of my favorite parks in Las Vegas, I personally love to take a walk around the lake and on the miles of walking paths, but there's a lot more than that too. This park is huge, and has some beautiful views, and lots of lots of parking, you'll never have an issue finding a spot. The lake walk has picnic areas with bathrooms and is very scenic, I love the fountains spraying off the island in the middle and seeing the many swans, geese, ducks and pigeons. It's a nice relaxing walk, though can get a little busy sometimes. You can fish in this lake too. Definitely a fun place for a family outing if you have kids. I also enjoy watching the planes landing at the airport that is literally just the other side of Sunset, so they're very low as they come over. When I want to do some more energetic exercise I speed walk the many walking trails, they go for miles and there are many routes you can take. Great places to give your dogs good exercise too. Additionally the park has multiple softball, basketball and little league fields, tennis and volleyball courts and a dog park. Since it's a big park, if you're planning a visit, due to its size it might take a bit to find the individual amenities, but if you do a web search for the park it will take you to the website which has a map that shows where everything is. read more

Amazing park with huge trail! Perfect for running, walking bigger more active dogs, or hot girl therapy walks with your bestie. That's honestly why I love coming here. It may not be as green or new as other parks but it's spacious. It has basketball courts, frisbee competitions, volleyball courts, a ton of kids playgrounds, great places to grill. A little water area. It has something for everyone in the family to enjoy. They tend to host cool events as well. Anything from food to spiritual. read more

This venue is clean, inviting, and creatively laid out to accommodate pet masters and all fur bases. There are doggie bags available. Thrash cans to dispose litter. The landscaping definitely takes into consideration the elements and seasons. The rocks are not sharp for paws. Shaded areas are therefore masters and pets. The geat place to keep fur babes hydrated. The gated area provides an entry/exit to keep pets safe. It is a great place to consider for now and future pet dates! read more

It's very nice. Larger than average. Hosts many large events including an annual Ren Faire. A few paved parking lots, and at least one gravel parking lot area. Walking trails, outdoor amphitheater stage areas, sport courts, and a few playground equipment areas for kids. It could stand to have more bathroom facilities IMO. Many memorial plaques at the base of the trees ...gives it a cemetery vibe that I don't care for. There were a considerable number of homeless people to be seen throughout the park, but they kept to themselves. I did not feel as if I should be concerned about them. At one point I noticed park personnel cleaning, and a police vehicle cruising through the parking lot area. I was there with a friend around noon and there were many people visiting, along with park personnel, and a police cruiser so I felt safe. read more

I absolutely adore the scenery at this large and diverse park. From the walking paths to the greenery to the lake with the ducks, this place is everything I want in a park and more (for scenic offerings). There are large playgrounds (many), splash area, volleyball, pickleball courts, frisbee golf, and more here. The central location in town is also ideal. However, one downside for me over the past few years is the amount of homeless people and druggies at this park, which makes the appeal of this park not so nice. If you can get past that, this park is the perfect place for a workout, stroll, picnic, or play date. read more

I only came to Sunset Park for the Trump rally. There was a lot of security and I felt safe. There is very little parking though in these events. I did see a lot of tow trucks towing vehicles. Besides the truck rally, I saw a lot of people just enjoying themselves and their families. There was barbecues going and there was also volleyball games going. This is probably the best place to play pokemon go in all Las Vegas. My friends and I recently got into the mobile game Pokémon go and this place is a gem! There are plenty of poke stops here and there's a great community that comes out and support each other. This is a huge park, with plenty of entrances that all connect with each other. There is plenty of parking here, they have a nice lake, there are plenty of restrooms. This is a great park if you want to play volleyball, frisbee golf, and baseball. I believe there is a library in the center of the park and there's a police station located in the center of the park. Overall, this is a great place to get some fresh air and enjoy outside. I was to Sunset Park one time before when I helped man a Yelp booth during an event at the park. I wanted to return when I learned that there was an historic sculpture on the island in the lake. The sculpture was from the Polynesian restaurant Aku Aku which was open at the Stardust from 1960 to 1980. Sometime in the 1990s, the largest statue was given to the county. They placed the statue on the island. That's a part of Las Vegas history that didn't get imploded or tossed aside. This is one of the larger county parks. There are a number of pavilions for picnics with plenty of tables. There are playing fields, and I had the chance to see hobby boat races on the south end of the lake. There is ample parking. The park has entrances from both Eastern and Trop so access is easy. It's a great place for a walk for some exercise or just to take in some of the waterfowl which inhabit the lake. read more

Love a park that can be used for many things and this park is it. It has a little lake, playgrounds, various courts for various sports, and even a police station just to name a few. Some parts are cleaner than others as expected in a park. I can't speak for the restrooms though cuz I have never used them. This park is able to host lots of events too. From parties, to tournaments, to fairs. Truly a great park. 4 star only because it's not a park I honestly feel the safest in. Maybe it's because there's too many people going in and out, coming from various directions and I have 3 kids so I'm always on high alert. And again, so much space that even when there was "lots of people out" there's more than plenty room. More importantly it was clean. read more

I love this place. I've been coming here for about 18 years and the most recent update is much better. The park has multiple BBQ pits you can reserve online and the duck pond is a great place to take the kids. Note: don't feed the ducks. Signs are posted everywhere and I still see people doing it. I spent a nice casual Monday afternoon here at Sunset Park in Las Vegas, Nevada to kill time before my flight home. I heard that this place is a good place to play Pokemon Go. They were right. It's a large enough park that can hold large events and definitely has everything you'd want. Sunset Park is one of the larger community parks in the Las Vegas valley. I came here because I thought it was a good place to just hang out and enjoy the other parts of Las Vegas besides The Strip before heading home. I arrived here around 2pm and spent about 3 1/2 hours here before heading back across the street to the Taco Bell, ordered snacks, and headed back to the airport. During my time spent here, I wandered along the park playing Pokemon Go, people watched, and saw a couple of homeless type individuals that may or may not be, but the guy looked like it. The grounds seem to be taken care of daily and once I walked past the pickleball courts, I saw more families and individuals hanging out by the large land-locked lake. It was cool to see a lot of birds and ducks inhabit the lake. All the noise was nice and a distraction from the cars and trucks nearby. It was cool to see the children play and having fun on this President's Day holiday 2024. For the most part though, the enjoyment came when I got to find an open bench to sit down after being walking around all morning. Lol During my time at Sunset Park, I got to draft a few yelp reviews of my time here in Las Vegas, but between that, people watching, and playing Pokemon Go, it was a quick 3 1/2 hours for sure. The people watching was nice and keeps me distracted. Makes me have hope for the future when people can be more civil to each other. The overall experience here at Sunset Park, Las Vegas was nice and casual. I always love open air community spaces and community parks, since it's generally open to the public, like Sunset Park is during the day. It's one of the places you can do without money. There was a couple of food vendors in the park, which was cool. It's a great way to make money from all the people who spend their time here and not want to look outside for their food options. I ended up sitting on empty benches for maybe 15 minutes to enjoy the outdoors and the beauty of Las Vegas without being on The Strip. Plenty of local people enjoying themselves on a holiday weekend and it was nice to be here and away from the Strip. Sunset Park does have its appeal for anyone and everyone to gather on any given day to have fun and enjoy themselves. Not sure if there is public water fountains or public restroom facilities, since I didn't search for one during my time here, but hopefully there are some on site. The weather was good and balmy. Not too cold or warm, especially in mid February. And so, if you find yourself sick and tired of The Strip and want to spend time away from that area and be in the real Las Vegas, consider coming to Sunset Park and enjoy the outdoors. There are restaurants nearby if you need food or drink, but Sunset Park is a great venue for special events, exercise, spend time with family or friends, maybe just or a nice quiet space to spend time after a hard day at the office. Whatever your reason, consider Sunset Park when you're here. Sunset Park is located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Near the LAS regional airport, it's a nice skip to this park in the Las Vegas valley. No admission required, since it is a public community park, which is awesome and amazing! As far as parking, there are plenty of parking for anyone and everyone. Just got to come early enough to snag a space before the crowds start to gather. If you enjoy public transportation, consider the right routes to get you from where you are to Sunset Park. I myself enjoyed Ubering to and from Sunset Park, so no need to use the public transportation. Uber / Lyft is always a good alternative to renting a car for sure. And so, if you are in town and just want to get away, come here. While it does get sketchy at night, come during the daytime hours and you'll be treated to a cornucopia of nature's beauty. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! A+ read more

Sunset park is really big and has something for everyone. Activities I saw: disc golf, baseball, pickle ball, kids playground. And the reason I came was for the walking trails. The walking trails cover roughly half the park and are well marked with occasional maps showing where you are in the park. I did all the trails and some extra covering about four miles. Nice workout on a sunny winter day. The only wildlife were several rabbits running around. Near the airport so get decent views of takeoffs and landings. Downsides: The bathrooms suck and many homeless folks. The homeless did not bother me and seemed to stick with themselves. Definitely worth a stop here. read more

Sunset Park. Such history and really a great, giant, local outside space with lots of amenities for the park visitor. But it is always a touch questionably unsafe with the homeless population about, a touch questionably unsafe for those not sure footed with countless active gopher mounds in the grass and a touch dated and rough around the edges with equipment and amenities that could use some love and bathrooms that could use more regular service. It is a busy park that gets a lot of traffic and is a mature park. I find myself here on occasion to meet a girlfriend to go walking and despite starting out with some cons to the park, we feel safe together during daylight hours and find really great territory to explore on foot. I do enjoy Sunset Park and I think it is a great asset to the Las Vegas community. But with honest negative points I started right out of the gate with behind me, on the flip side, I would give the new Pickleball courts an absolute 5-Star Yelp review on its own, separate from everything else in Sunset Park. These courts and this area, which only opened in 2021, looks so nice that it outshines the rest of the park at this point to me. They have 24 courts that are gorgeous and brand new and open to the public. I have taken photos of the courts, the December 2021 schedule and also the information via office on making a court reservation and posted them here on Yelp. When I was there on a random Wednesday at 1PM in November, there was only one court in use and you could easily just walk on and play. I have not personally called up to talk to someone about if a reservation is "required," but I am sure these courts can get busy during after work hours and weekends and maybe a reservation is best. The number to call appears to be 702-455-8241 and I am sure they can clear that point up. It appears if a reservation is required, it is $6 an hour. The courts have lights, some shade structures and seating off the side of the courts and have rules and regulations clearly posted. If you are driving to the park from Sunset and Eastern and head south, you would park in the first available parking lot/entrance structure you come to on your left which is Sunset Park Road. When you pull in you will see the Pickleball courts ahead on the left. They have restrooms also right there at this complex. So although this is not the best public park on the planet, I am certain this so-so park has the absolute best public Pickelball courts in the city. A great upgrade, so go get your paddle, grab a partner and get out there. read more

I heard this is the place to be for pickleball in Las Vegas so I made it a point to come visit and get a game or two. I came by myself on a Monday morning, all the courts were active. I went to the open play courts; there weren't a lot of people not partnered up already and I had to wait for a bit. I only got to play one game because I waited longer than I expected, and it was also getting a little too hot. Skill level is pretty decent to good. Maybe average 3.5+ read more

My husband went to this park to walk on a Tuesday evening. It is a very large park that was a ranch years ago. It's beautiful with a large pond and trails to walk or run on. It has a center piece that we walked up to kind of like a gazebo with photos of the history of the ranch and then when it became a park. It's a beautiful park with plenty of room for everyone including sports fields and playgrounds. There are plenty of ducks, geese, swans, rabbits, etc. The pond has buoys on it for people who want to race their small remote controlled boats. Urban fishing is allowed. This huge park is one of the bigger ones that includes just about everything. The renaissance fair takes place here along with numerous other events too. Sand pits to play volleyball, basketball courts, pickle ball courts, disc golf course, a pond and more. There's always something going on here. Ducks, geese and other feathered friends roam around the giant park area. The disc golf course is compromised of 24 holes that rotate from time to time. If it's a nice day expect to see lots of disc golfers out. Disc golfers and pedestrians alike should be mindful of their surroundings of flying objects in the air. There is LOTS of geese poop in many areas to mindful of. Not to mention dog poop. The ground is uneven in a lot of places of the park. Watch where you step. The park does attract homeless people that are scattered around the park. Be mindful. read more

I just moved to Vegas and I visited the Sunset Park yesterday for the first time. It's a huge park with everything that you could need in a park! Baseball fields, jungle gyms, walking paths, kid's splash zones, dog parks, sand dunes, picnic areas, grills, you name it. I went around 7:30 pm and there were tons of people there. They also have police patrolling the area which I felt was necessary, especially for the size of the park. I will say, some people were feeding the geese and ducks with bread which causes so much bird poop to be everywhere. Watch where you walk! The dog park is decent with two areas - one for small dogs, one for large. It did have grass and refillable water for the dogs which was nice. There are also lights so you can go after the sun goes down. It was busy with all sorts of dogs. I didn't think it was anything to write home about though, and of course, there were your typical careless dog owners who couldn't read the room and weren't watching their dogs. read more

Great park for sunset as the name. This is really sunset park. There are lots of ducks and many dogs and people. I'm glad I visited here around 7p in the end of May. I was with my dogs so I'm Vegas I woke up early and go around with my dogs and stay at hotel during day and close to sunset we go for our second walk. My dogs enjoyed walking here. We met so many nice people and dogs.(I feel people nicer here than LA.) I think there is dog park but my dogs are not good at dog park although they are super friendly so I didn't go to the dog park. Several parking places in this park. Bathrooms. Just bad things are so many ducks poops but they don't have owners so can't complain. I don't like there are so many dog poops too.
