We were in a king bed room. VERY clean with all the basic amenities. Shampoo, conditioner, updated TV, refrigerator, microwave, iron, and ironing board. The room is not to disappoint in going with the 90's theme. Floral and gold with cherry stained furniture. The breakfast includes, bagels, a few cereal selections, juice, fruit, yogurt, and coffee. Not much, but free. All kidding aside, this hotel may not be decorated to the present, but it is clean and reasonably priced ($80). Staff is very friendly and helpful as well. A nice place to stay if you are in Waterloo.

The shower head was so dirty and encrusted, along with the tub and tub surround being dirty and covered in probably years of soap scum, I couldn't bring myself to shower there. I washed my face and tried to use the hand towel to dry, but it was so old and non-absorbent, it just pushed the water around my face. All of the towels and washcloths were old, dingy, worn and frayed. There was mold along the top of the tub surround. I had to wipe someone else's toothpaste spots from the mirror. I also had to wipe down the sink. We tried to find another hotel, but they were booked. The windows in the door to the front entrance along with the elevator were dirty. I honestly put my slippers in the trash can. There was no way I was going to put them in my luggage - even wrapped in a plastic bag - nor let them touch my floors at home. All of us spent the least amount of time possible in the rooms - heat and humidity instead of air conditioning were the better option. I went to plug my phone into an outlet and there was dirt and layers of dust on top of the outlet cover. I peeked behind the TV stand and night stand and layers of dirt and dust. I was not brave enough to look at the AC unit. I paid over $350 for a 3-night stay in a room I couldn't even shower in let alone want to be in for more than 30 seconds. Although a non-smoking hotel, it smelled of smoke - probably from years past when guests were allowed to smoke in the hotel. There was no air conditioning in any of the common areas. Breakfast??? Ah... go to Denny's. I along with at least one other guest sent a complaint to Wyndham. Their response was to send it to the hotel and let me know I would receive a response within a week. Makes me not want to stay at any Wyndham properties. Sorry this is a bit of a ramble, but it still makes my skin crawl.

First there is the name which give you a hint of the vibe, an old school reimagined as a boutique hotel. The school themed decor follows through from the minute you walk in the door to your room. The designers thoughtfully left many elements of the school and incorporated them perfectly. The rooms are spacious and well thought out too. Beds are comfortable bathrooms are well lit (hard to find in hotels) and every space is exceptionally clean. I stayed on a Monday so the restaurant was not open but no worries there are a number of good restaurant choices within a 2 block walk. The only issue is a minor one that wouldn't matter if you don't work out when traveling. The workout room only has one elliptical machine, 2 treadmills and a few weights. The elliptical was a brand I was not familiar with and I wasn't able to get it going to use. The space is small but large enough to add a bike or another elliptical. I would love to find more hotels like this when traveling for work, it would make it more fun. I would definately stay here if I come through again. I can see where this would be a fun place to host an event.

On the edge of the tub was an inch of crust. There were plants of some kind in the bed. Ants crawling everywhere. The phone books have an inch of dust on them. Then I became violently ill and had diarrhea and fever for three days. I am sure the room is toxic. I asked the obese maid to clean the bathroom, but then felt bad because she was obviously too physically disabled to do so. She left the crust on the tub and only cleaned the shit off the toilet bowl. They haven't offered me clean towels once. They haven't offered to take out the trash. I took it out this morning on my own.

The cut is uneven, particularly around her face, which appears choppy and not well blended. Her paws were also not cleaned up to the standard I expected. The areas of greatest concern are her armpit and belly, which were shaved extremely close. Her skin appeared irritated afterward, and there is a small area on her belly that looks consistent with a minor nick from the blade. I spoke with management to address these concerns and am currently requesting a refund based on the result and condition of the grooming. Overall, I am not satisfied with the service provided. If you have a long-haired or double-coated breed, I recommend clearly confirming grooming expectations in advance.
