A great stay! Clean rooms (website pics are actually accurate and current), friendly staff, great free breakfast which had the sweetest staff member who kept breakfast items stocked and area cleaned. The bathroom in our room could have been cleaned better, but this was a HUGE upgrade to the nightmare of a room we had originally booked at the La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham in O'Fallon, Illinois and was supposed to stay at, so we were much more pleased with our stay and experience. read more

The staff has very poor customer service. We were awoken between 1am and 3am every night of our stay by people being INCREDIBLY loud above us and the staff did literally NOTHING to help with this. They told us to "just call back if they keep being loud and we'll remind them it's quiet time again". Half the time they wouldn't even answer the phone, the times they did they just apologized but did nothing to resolve it. We had to be up at 5am and got very little sleep. Not to mention the lady that was running the breakfast service was rude and aggressive. I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel. read more

Failure on management. The employees were awesome. How to start, not sure. Room was dark even with every bedside light on. Room had musty odor, was not able to change rooms. Not impressed at all. Stayed there for a night on a business trip. Got an accessible room (I never like those because of the shower). The remote to close the blinds was not working, the room was only marginally clean, room was by the elevator so I had to sleep with earplugs because of the damn thing made a sound every time the door was opening, the ac unit was LOUD and RATTLING. What a nightmare. Let's just say, I did not sleep much. Also continental breakfast was "blah" at best. Won't stay there again. read more

This review is in regards to this hotel's Covid precautions or lack there of. Though they have signs pointing to the requirement of mask wearing, they do not actually enforce this policy. We were traveling with our family and arrived late. My daughter had to use the ladies room after a long day of driving and the front desk worker came out of a back room screaming at us that we had one warning to get to our room. I asked for her name and she said it was Allison. She later referred to my daughter as "crazy" for running to the potty barefooted. When we expressed our displeasure with the way our daughter was treated Allison said "good luck because I'm the best they have". I'm disgusted by the treatment our family received and will NEVER stay at this hotel again. read more

The room is really nice but there are a lot of kids at this hotel. I also was charged a fee and had even contacted them to see why I was charged additional money on my card and no one could give me an answer. They also wouldn't refund me the additional amount they charged me so I don't recommend staying here. read more

Had a pleasant experience here. The hotel was nicely furnished, and, more importantly, very clean. I even walked barefoot on the bathroom floor, which I almost NEVER do at hotels (ew, germs!). The staff was friendly, and checking in and out was quick and easy. The comforters on the beds were divine - spotlessly white, and puffy as clouds. Didn't swim in the pool, but it looked nice. Fitness center was small but seemed adequate (but what do I know? I don't work out). Pretty typical hotel breakfast, although a bit more extensive than I was expecting. They had a waffle maker! At any rate, I would have given this place five stars, except for one glitch: the shower head in my bathroom was broken. It wouldn't swivel, and it wouldn't change pressure settings like it was supposed to. And since my absolute favorite part about staying in a hotel is taking a long and fabulous shower, I had to dock a star. (Also the door to my bathroom wouldn't shut properly, but that didn't really matter to me because I was staying in the room by myself.) This is the second time we have stayed here. The facility is just as nice this time as it was a couple of years ago. We like staying here as it is a little off the main and seems to be quieter. The rooms are very nice, adequate space, clean and a clean duvet cover which is very important to us. The staff is very nice and helpful and I was greeted very warmly and recognized as an Honors member when I checked in. The breakfast staff did an amazing job on the second day we were there as a whole bus load of kids descended at the same time for breakfast. They cleaned out everything in sight and the staff had to really struggle to keep things full. Somehow they managed and the next day you could not tell that any of them we ever there. My only complaint was that they allowed someone with a puppy dog to walk around in the food area. I do not think hotels should allow dogs or any animal for that mater inside and certainly not in the food area. read more

I stayed in Room 105. At entry, the room did smell musty, but the room appeared clean. I stayed, worked, watched tv, then went to bed. When I woke up, I had bites on my legs, arms, chest, face, ankles & feet. Wow, did they itch! I showed the staff at the front desk the bites. I also asked for the manager to reach out to me so we could speak. I have waited 7 days for a follow up call. I have not heard from management. This was the only Hilton property in the past 2 weeks (I stayed at 4 different properties) where I woke up to find bug bites. read more

Picked this hotel because it looked much better than the Super8 in Waterloo. VERY HAPPY! The young man at the desk when we checked in 12/9/17 (forgot his name - my bad) was fantastic. Do Not stay here....period! Checked in at 1pm and at 10:30pm someone was trying to enter my room! Called front desk and what a cluster f--k! They do not give a dam or care what's going on. The girl that check me in was talking to other women about how she hated her job! The desk dick that was on duty we we came back from dinner didn't know if they vending machines.....and then the only one was at the end of 1st floor. We got to our room on the 3rd floor the vending and ice were 20 ft from room. The manager doesn't work weekends! No wonder it fails Lazy! Giving the same room to two people? Then tell me how was I in the room when I didn't check in and how I got two keys!? Corporate will hear about this! Then maybe the lazy freaken manager will work and train these ........people that are responsible for a lot of people every night! Hilton ought to be ashamed of this Hotel and its lack of a manager and its staff! If there would have a minus star I would have given them a-5 stars! Now more than a month later the hotel management still has never called to apologize......nothing! Worthless hotel management....that never works weekends Or holidays! No security for hotel guest! No complaints here! My room was nice, the front desk was awesome, as always, and I love the fact that they always have coffee available for me downstairs when I need it. They have breakfast to go bags for those of us that don't really have time to sit down for breakfast and that is a personal touch which shows that they are looking out for all varieties of customers. Nice hotel. Easy check-in and check-out. Very friendly staff. Pool water was warm and great for my nephew. Pool toys provided. Breakfast was good. Slim options for Gluten Free. There was a candy wrapper left on the floor from previous guest and the sugar/creamer in the bathroom had been opened and used. Beds were very comfortable and we slept very well. My family and I stayed at this hotel while traveling and was very satisfied with the experience. First, we were greeted by the smell of delicious popcorn and two sweet ladies at front desk who were very informative about the area, the best eateries, as well as hotel amenities. Breakfast was out of this world. Breakfast included "real" scrambled eggs, nice crispy bacon(not greasy) and two options for waffles!!! We were so full we skipped lunch:-)Room was clean, variety of pillow options (soft/firm), fresh carpet in the room and in the hallway. We truly appreciated the complementary call once we arrived in our room. Had a little problem with a cable outage, but the professional staff made up for it with a complimentary gift card! We book a room for two days directly for a wedding. Upon checkout, they gave me a total of 276.??. I asked to see the bill, but it only showed our rate (99.99) per night plus taxes, etc) The bill should have only been 219.78, but they said it was going to be 278.99. I asked for a copy (did not offer it). It showed only the 219.78. I asked about the difference and they said there was some additional fees, but they could not explain what it was. She told me it would come as 2 separate charges on my credit card. I asked her for a printout of the other changes and she said could not print it. We was never told about any additional fees when making the reservation, nor upon checking in or checking out could they explain it. I told her I would dispute it. My wife checked out credit today and there is only ONE charge of 274.73. a difference of $54.95. I called Hampton Inn Columbia Il again today and someone looked at it and said it was incidental fees that SHOULD be refunded in a couple of days. Like I can believe anything that is told me at this point. Why such an odd amount for 2 days. We checked with others that attended the wedding and they was never charged that extra amount. Again nobody at any time mentioned any extra amount to be paid and no mention of it checking out until I questioned it. I cannot believe that they cannot not show that on the receipt or give me a breakdown what it was for. This is plain hiding things and illegal. I now have to wait 2-3 days to see if it really does get refunded. I doubt it. or not all of it. I will be calling my credit card and dispute the charges. Reservation #90033305. I will never ever stay at another Hampton Inn or Hilton. This was a scam. Nobody else we know at the wedding pair any extra amount charged equal to this. Shame on you. read more

On 7/28/15, I had a reservation at the Hampton Inn in Columbia, IL. The colleague I was traveling with tried to get a room at the same hotel that night but could not. He was able to get a room at the Hilton ballpark in St. Louis. So I called Hilton reservations to see if I could switch my reservation from the Hampton Inn to the Hilton ballpark without penalty. I called Hilton reservations from the St. Louis airport. Something was wrong with the phone system so I got cut off after a half hour and had to call back. When I called back and explained the situation yet again I asked the person helping me (who was very nice) to hold my reservation at the Hampton Inn because I would not switch to the Hilton ballpark without having the cancellation penalty waived. It took another half hour because the person from Hilton I was speaking with couldn't get in touch with the Hampton Inn. When we arrived at the ballpark Hilton from the airport I was STILL on the phone with Hilton reservations. At that point I was told my reservation at the Hampton Inn had been CANCELLED (against my instructions and apparently against the Hilton agent's instructions), with a cancellation penalty! At that point I took the room at the Hilton ballpark and asked the Hilton agent to log a complaint. I was told that due to the situation I would likely get a refund of the cancellation penalty. Was told by Hilton by email "it is my understanding that the Hampton Inn St. Louis/Columbia, IL is unable to waive their guarantee policy". Now Hilton has gone silent and I still don't have a refund. Incredibly BAD customer service on the part of Hilton and the Hampton Inn. read more
