First off, the people dropping 1-star reviews on this place are probably the high-maintenance crowd…read morewho drove down from NY or DC expecting a luxury high-rise and never bothered to do five minutes of research beforehand. This resort is pure mom-and-pop energy. Not some polished corporate chain with cucumber water in the lobby. It's been part of OC since the 1950s and it feels like one of those places where families vacationed as kids, then came back years later with their own kids, and the cycle just keeps going. The whole place runs on nostalgia, tradition, and "remember when?" stories. Everything here is functional and clean but you absolutely get what you pay for. If you're expecting modern luxury, quartz countertops, and Instagram-core aesthetics, head to condo row in north OC and prepare to pay at least 50% more. We stayed here in early May 2026. The outdoor pool was still closed for the season but every other amenity was up and running. One nice perk: all amenities are free for guests. There are signs everywhere saying wristbands are required, although at the indoor pool that rule seemed to be enforced with the intensity of a mall security guard on break. Nobody in our group had wristbands on and half the pool crowd didn't either. Even in early May, the indoor pool was pretty lively without feeling chaotic. While we didn't fully take advantage of it, the pool bar specials were honestly kind of absurd in the best way possible. They had around a dozen beer options (everything from basic to craft) for like $2-$3 each. No exaggeration on that. Not one beer was more than $3. Crushes, cocktails, jello shots, and other drinks were all priced shockingly reasonably too. If you're traveling with a big group, you could easily dedicate an entire day to staying on the property and still spend less than you would almost anywhere else in town. My 8-year-old loved the mini golf course. Is it a little worn down compared to some of the flashy courses nearby? Sure. But it's free, and free mini golf automatically gains at least two stars in my book. They also show two family-friendly movies every evening around 6 PM and 8 PM with complimentary popcorn, which is a nice touch. The arcade had maybe 6-12 games total: skeeball, crane games, Mortal Kombat, a racing game or two, and a handful of random classics. Games do not take quarters and you have to purchase a game card. Honestly, the arcade can be skipped but you walk past it going to the indoor pool. If you want to play arcades, go to the inlet and hit up Playland or Sportland. There's also a small outdoor playground that should easily satisfy kids 10 and under. We stayed in the Pennsylvania building on the second floor. The room itself was comfortable. The shower pressure was a little weak, but perfectly usable. One underrated plus is the sink is outside the bathroom. The room had a microfridge, two queen beds, basic cable, solid AC, and comfortable mattresses. The biggest downside is definitely the thin walls. Sound travels. A lot. Thankfully, most guests were families, so it never felt rowdy in a BAD way. You will hear laughter, small kids yelling, doors shutting, etc. And because it's a family resort with thin walls, some parents seemed to operate under the philosophy of "vacation bedtime is optional" and throw any self-awareness out the window. On Saturday night, there were kids sprinting around the hallways at 11:30 PM while parents yelled at them from somewhere in the parking lot like they were trying to coach a youth soccer practice from three fields away. Zero awareness that other families, likely with small kids, might actually be asleep. Thankfully, we brought a white noise machine, so it wasn't a huge issue for us. But I could definitely see peak summer weekends getting a little chaotic. That said, this may also just come down to my mindset. Even though we live here, if we ever need a quick few-night escape from our house again, we'd probably come back. The value is really hard to beat.

The bad: grainy flatscreens could use an upgrade, the beds are small and have old itchy sheets, the indoor pool is one of the worst i've ever seen (floating hair/bandaids/trash and noone appears to be cleaning up after guests leave their cups//towels- almost had nowhere to seat upon entry).

We had a great view of the pool, the bay, and fagers island. But our bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. We basically had zero water pressure in the shower and it turned cold fast. When we arrived the floor was kinda dirty but manageable. I am convinced the AC in our room didn't work because every time we tried to turn it down or turn the fan on we couldn't hear or feel it. The elevators were sort of scary as someone who is not scared of anything. We had an amazing time but it was sooo hot in our room. Would not have survived without the fan in the closet.

We wore glad the room had a refrigerator and a two burner cooktop so we could cook in the room. Many of the restaurants in town were closed since we were here in March and their season has not started and Covid has closed many businesses in the off season. We enjoyed the resort and they followed Covid guidelines. Masks are mandatory when inside the building for everyone's safety. Maryland residents must limit travel to essential purposes. People entering Maryland must self-quarantine for 10 days or obtain a negative COVID-19 test result. People arriving from Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia are exempt.

First of all the pool is so small and does not allow you to bring in any food or drink. So you are forced to purchase theirs. And let's talk about over priced, low quality food. Pizza tastes like cardboard with ketchup on it, however the cheese is actually not bad. The $12 crab pretzel is a overly salted DRY pretzel with a block of cream cheese topped with melted cheddar, and a few strands of crab running through it. Oh and stone cold in the middle! Cold nachos, and soggy quesadillas. Nothing comes out if that kitchen piping hot, and mind you we've been there more than once. Now one review called this place rustic. There is a fine line between rustic and 3rd world country. Between the bathrooms and stone parking lot you certainly don't feel like you are in a resort. In fact the bathrooms which smell like a sewer have exposed pipes everywhere, non flushing toilets and broken stall doors and toilet paper dispensers. If you get out of there alive beware of the loose boards on the walkway up to the showers. Someone stepped on the end of one and it flipped up and almost caught my child's foot underneath. OP , as a taxpayer and RESIDENT, I am disgraced at this poor excuse for a beach club. I will not be patronizing next year when you can park anywhere up and down coastal highway if you get there early enough and experience a multitude if better eateries and resorts than this dump!
