We did the Safari boat ride this week with Adam at the helm. We left on time and Adam had a very…read morerelaxed but engaging manner in the way that he shared where we were going, its history and what we were seeing. We only saw one Assateague pony (George), but lucked up with dozens of dolphins, many of which were very close to the boat. The boat itself handled the waves we encountered very well and jostling and bouncing were kept to a minimum. All in all, a great time on the water and we felt our money was well-spent.

I parked my vehicle in the restaurant parking lot. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our boat to return from their current tour. When our boat arrived they unloaded their passengers so we could board for our tour. Our boat was packed with too many customers. We were on a high powered boat. We went out to the inlet and then turned around because the waves were too strong to go out into the Atlantic Ocean. We returned to the bay and eventually saw the wild ponies on Assateague Island. After seeing the wild ponies we returned back to the dock. The bay was littered with sand bars. Luckily our boat had a depth finder. There was one very large sand bar when we returned to our dock. Our captain knew where all the sandbars were located so he avoided them. Overall our cruise took about 1 hour. We were pleased with our cruise. More to come regarding our lunch.

I have wanted to see Assateague Island for years; so, we took our family to Ocean City, Md. I…read morebooked the trip for 10:30 am and, as luck would have it, my son woke up sick. I called and spoke to Tim and he was wonderful. He changed our time to 5:30 pm and we were all able to make the trip. He could not have been more understanding. The trip guides were knowledgeable and like Tim very personable. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. A very trustworthy business!!

I went on this excursion with my family this past weekend, and I left extremely disappointed…read more Honestly, I wish I could get my money back. We were the only family of color on the boat, and I couldn't help but notice a pattern in how the host interacted with the passengers. Each time he came around with the sea creatures, he passed over my family and went directly to the White families. Their children were given the opportunity to hold, touch, and see the animals up close, while my family was skipped. The first time it happened, I spoke up and said, "Hey, my kids would like to hold them too," and only then did he come back to us. The second time, I intentionally stayed quiet to see if it would happen again--and it did. Once again, my family was passed over. My daughter was especially upset because she didn't get the same opportunity to participate as the other children. I can't say for certain why we were treated differently, but based on what I personally observed, it left me feeling singled out and unwelcome. No family should leave an experience feeling that way. I've attached a photo of the host from our excursion. If you're a family of color considering Assateague Adventure, I wanted to share my experience so you can make an informed decision. Unfortunately, this was not the welcoming, inclusive family outing we were expecting.
