Amir Chang is the most miserable human being. Not responding to my Emails, not responding to my voicemail. As soon as he gets his comission he will ignore you. I'm surprised Streetside has hired this miserable rude and disrespectful person as an Area Manager. I'd absolutely recommend Dave as an area manager.

Stories of home builders gone wrong made me very very nervous. When I first found my property I…read moreloved it but I wasn't aware of anyone that had ever used Streetside before. I looked around and even the complaints I heard were a bit acceptable given the size of projects (trees weren't thriving after turning over to the board) nothing like atleast three other builders I knew of that had some serious issues. Ultimately I did build with Streetside and I have lived in the property for quite some time. It certainly wasn't perfect but the blips were pretty small. There were some bumps: - The hot water tanks were a bit small to cover in floor heating and still have warm showers but it was replaced at their expense - After the last round of nail pops in the warranty process they didn't repaint which was a bit annoying - my fridge was probably never a level of appliance I'd consider buying and it died and has already been replaced (mind you I still technically got life expectancy from it). Now that I have a good fridge my food is lasting longer than it ever did in my builder special. -the changed some doors and windows from the original plan which I disliked but have adapted to - I didn't build in air conditioning at several thousand dollars and now it's extremely hard to install anything because of the type of windows they used. I'm still fiddling with temporary ways of making this work every summer. - I have a door that never really lined up well. They fiddled with it a few times and it was made better but never perfect. Maybe the door frame is slightly off. Luckily it's a non-consequential door on the inside. - I've had trades say a few things were not 100% code like missing a couple support straps on the gas lines which was an easy fix but it was a sloppy over sight. Overall though, I've been happy with most of the quality. I didn't give a lot of thought to them including upgraded fixtures in the base price until I started seeing friends that got non-upgraded fixtures. I can't believe what some places call bathtubs for example because they are the depth of a kiddie pool. Or I can't believe the terrible paint others have used or how hard floors are with carpet because the underlay is poor. The community has also held up fairly well through the years. Condo fees have more than doubled since the condo board has taken over which is typical but annoying.

The staff there is always amenable to anything that the non profit group that I work for needs but they have been a financial supporter of the group for over 7 years giving donations consistently in the high 4 digit range. I wanted to put a shout out on yelp so that people in Calgary knew of the huge attributes of this company to non-profit groups in the city.

Avoid Trico if after-possession service and warranty support matter to you…read more The buying and possession process may seem smooth, but our experience with Trico Warranty has been extremely disappointing. Once possession is complete, getting responses and meaningful support becomes very difficult. The only person who consistently tried to help was Eric--he was professional, responsive, and genuinely cared. Unfortunately, the entire warranty experience should not depend on one individual. Within a short time, we experienced recurring garage door issues, and now our garage ramp concrete is deteriorating even though the home is only about a year old. Many problems started appearing shortly after the warranty period ended, leaving us responsible for repairs that should not have been necessary so soon. A new home is one of the biggest investments you'll ever make. Based on our experience, the workmanship quality and after-possession support did not meet expectations. Do your research carefully and speak with current homeowners before choosing Trico.

From the first day, he was actively involved on the building site, which continued through the build. His trades were all friendly, professional and talented. We were pleased with Eric's 'standards' that other builders charge as upgrades. Eric is passionate, meticulous and proud of the homes he builds for his clients, ours included. Unbelievably, he created our "happy-ever-after" home in less than seven months. Eric's Homes was the perfect choice! Sonya & Ross

To begin with, my wife and I had visited the Eric's Homes Show Home immediately south of Okotoks while we were looking for a home builder. It was an impressive, well designed, and well appointed house. We met Eric and Lucie who were polite and helpful answering any questions we had about acreage home building. We then took a brochure and carried on looking for a builder for another 6 months or so. When we were ready to build, we returned to Eric's Show Home and had another look. It was truly a step above everything else we had looked at and Eric made us comfortable with his pressure free disposition. Once we made our choice to move forward with Eric's Homes, the whole process took 6 months from ground breaking to delivering the keys. Eric presented us with building plans based on our vision and we added and removed certain items. Eric's designers created a plan that exactly matched what we were dreaming of. Eric explained the building spec and what features and materials were included in the price. He offered a few upgrades from extending a roof over part of the deck to adding extra finishing work in other areas. He included pricing with these upgrades and presented us with documentation to either accept or reject the additional cost and work. Once building began, it was immediately apparent that Eric carefully selects his contractors as they were all quality operators. The final result is a truly beautiful 1800 sq ft bungalow with attached triple car garage and Hardie Board siding. At various times, our country home has experienced devastating weather and excessive moisture over the three years we have lived in this house without any damage to the exterior or any water leakage in the basement. I would recommend that anyone considering to have an acreage home built, to definitely see the Eric's Homes Show Home and talk to Eric and Lucie about building their dream house.
