Where the water and trees welcome you with serenity. Come walk the dog, ride your horse, bring your kayak, bring your fishing pole, bring a blanket, have a BBQ in the group picnic area and more. A safe place for children but please always watch them around any body of water. Just on the outskirts of Santa Rosa, Riverfront welcomes you with all of its glory. The trails around the lake a extra wide and flat. Easy for a wheelchair to go round. This is one of my regular spots to escape and intake the beauty of nature. I highly recommend just buying a parking pass to support the parks. If you visit a regional park once a month, it pays for itself.

Each site had a fire pit and picnic table, both of which were very clean and well maintained. Sites ranged in size, some good for 1 tent with 2 people and others with room for 3 or so tents. Our site was a little smaller, but had a nice privacy divide and lots of trees. Just across the road and down a dirt path is the campground's private river access. It's about a 3-5 minute walk depending on how much you're carrying. The beach is super rocky so it's a good idea to have water shoes and a chair. We enjoyed going for a swim here and sitting out watching the water and wildlife. We stayed in a site closer to the front of the campground and River Road, so it was a bit noisy with the cars going by, but we were prepared for this and brought earplugs, which really helped. They have a regular/family section as well as an adult only section. The adult only section is further back in the campground and noticeably quieter, though it is further from the restrooms. Another major plus was the dishwashing station! They had a 4 compartment sink equipped with soap and sponges. This was so conventinet and made cleaning up a breeze. I booked our reservations with Chris a few months prior to our August stay. The booking process was super easy, you do have to call in and will likely receive a call the next day, so plan to call when you know you'll be by your phone! Would absolutely come back here since there's so much to do in the area and it really is a nice and clean campground.

Can I give zero stars?…read more Mirabel has always been a wonderful resort and a place my family has enjoyed for many years. That is why this experience was so disappointing. Our interactions with the camp host, Laura, were the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. Rather than resolving minor issues professionally, she repeatedly escalated them with hostility and unnecessary confrontation. Her communication was rude, demeaning, and far below the standard guests should expect. On multiple occasions, she approached our campsite yelling, including in front of our children, creating an uncomfortable and stressful environment. Instead of helping guests feel welcome, her behavior appeared focused on intimidation and asserting authority over minor matters. What is especially concerning is that many of the one-star reviews on Yelp appear to center on her customer service and similar negative interactions with guests. These types of interactions have also occurred nearly every year for the past 10 years or more, suggesting a long-standing and consistent pattern rather than an isolated issue. Mirabel itself remains a beautiful and special place, which makes this even more unfortunate. No guest should be treated this way. Management should take these repeated concerns seriously, because one person's conduct should not overshadow an otherwise great destination.

We came birding here recently and saw a hawk and woodpecker perched up in a tree. They also had sheep and goat grazing in a temporary fenced-off area to keep the dry grass down. I love this eco-friendly method of managing vegetation. There were about a dozen dogs happily playing in the dog park when I was there. It was fun to watch how they interact with each other. There were a few growls but responsible dog parents were there to quickly call their dogs back. There are several picnic tables sprinkled throughout the park. You can reserve areas for special events. I have attended a wedding and a friend hosted a retirement party here. The Gravenstein Apple Fair has been held at this location for many decades as well. There are a few parking lots to choose from. You can park inside the park for free if you are a Sonoma County Regional Park member. Annual pass is currently $69. Seniors get a discounted rate.

Ragle Ranch Regional Park is an amazing local park. It has beautiful examples of oak woodland, some…read moreredwood groves and fine examples of secondary succession where fields are gradually being replaced by forest. There are bicycle trails, hiking trails and people take horses there too. Benches along the way let a person sit and enjoy the beauty. Out on the trails it's hard to believe you are within walking distance of downtown. There are also baseball, softball, soccer and volleyball. It is also home to the premier public tennis facility in West County, the Ragle Ranch Tennis courts were built with private donations and have been maintained by dedicated volunteers for the past 30 years without taxpayer funds. It has one of the few practice walls in West County and a porta potty nearby.

We decided to hike up the more intense trail and it was so worth it. There were quite a few others hiking as well and most people seem to respect it. Picking up their trash and making sure to leave it as it was before setting up their picnic spot. Net time I'm going to make sure to bring my on picnic. This time I only brought snacks and water to sustain me while hiking. I'm so blessed to live in an area that provides this wonderful piece of Mother Nature.
