A friendly welcome helped us feel immediately at home and soon our hands were being treated to an exfoliation and moisturising treatment followed by a file and polish all using top quality products. While our nails dried we relaxed and enjoyed an unhurried glass of fizz. Everyone is so friendly and attentive and the surroundings are suitably classy exuding chill- inducing vibes that make you feel special, which is exactly what you want from a spa. The girls were friendly, the whole place seemed nice and clean, but it felt distinctly cheap - the walls being the equivalent of cardboard between booths. I came out feeling hot and sweaty and a bit out of pocket. Maybe with more sessions I would achive a golden sunkissed tan, but I quickly realised such things are wholly unnatural for any true-blooded Scots woman, and haven't been back since. My common sense has also moved beyond my vanity now and I wouldn't sit in a sun bed again for the health risks- skin cancer is not worth it. Don't do it. Get yourself a spray tan instead.

Sunset Beach makes me want to fry. I have never been on a sunbed in my life, and I have no…read moreintentions to (especially after Final Destination 3), but this s testing my resolve. From the bright, welcoming Miani-style lighting, to the clean-looking booths to the surprisingly non-orange staff, this place looks good! There's nothing worse than bright orange fake tan or really obvious streaky fake tan, St. Tropez gives you a natural glow that will make people wonder whether it's real or not. I'm really pale, think of a milk bottle that's tinged with blue. I'm so pale, that whenever I don't have fake tan or make-up on people ask me if I'm okay. This was pretty good at school, as if I couldn't be bothered with maths class then I'd play up that I was feeling a bit faint and sure enough I'd get a sympathetic; "yes, oh my, you are looking very pale, I think you should go home." Result! Morticia Addams isn't really the look I'm going for these days so I'm never without a bottle of St. Tropez. It's around £22 at this St. Tropez concession at Debenhams and they have a deal on that if you spend over £25 then you get a FREE spray tan which usually costs £30. This offer is fabulous and you don't need to get the spray tan done there and then, you can wait and book it for a time that suits you, great if you've got a special occasion coming up. The staff are awesome here, so helpful and really chatty, last time I visited they gave me about 20 free samples of moisturiser, exfoliater and tan. St. Tropez gives a natural colour that adapts to your skin tone and gives you the kind of colour you would naturally go in the sun. Naturally, I go a shade of lobster red before going golden but thankfully St. Tropez skips that step and goes straight for the results. There are a whole range of tanning products here, I usually go for the lotion, it goes on dark so you don't make any mistakes when applying it and no matter how badly you slap it on it always washes off to look perfect. Fabulous! In addition, St. Tropez uses high quality products so you always know what's going on to your skin, a much safer and healthier option to the terrifying world of sun beds!

I have used fake tan for many many years and despite my now well refined technique of tanning by myself, for that odd special occasion it is nice to get it done professionally. I would never go without fake tan, it has been a necessity from the age of about 16, but there have been a good few disasters or shall we say there was a learning curve. So if you are thinking about fake tan or even a seasoned pro, st Tropez will teach you a thing or two.

I then contacted Head Office and was met by unapologetic rude advisors who don't seem to understand that customer service is PARAMOUNT to a business. They refused to honour the 60 minutes, nor refund them because they had "merchandise", however I was sold said "promotion" without any information other than it being 60 minutes. I then responded saying I felt I was mis-sold and that I'd be grateful for either a refund or honouring what I had spent my money on. I then received an email which wasn't meant for me!!!!!! It was one Head Office advisor asking another Head Officer advisor if she should IGNORE me?!! What kind of service is that? I've worked high up within the customer service network for a long time and this has disgusted me. I didn't even receive an apology for this error email. just another snotty response saying that they will not be reinstating my minutes. My company would bend over backwards for customers, being the sole reason for being in business. Won't be using you again, and will be networking this among social media and all my influencing platforms. Of course, unless, you reinstate what I have actually paid for and not received!

It is quite a small space but I've never felt more at ease is a beauty salon (as they usually get my hackles up with the extremes often seen!) Defo worth a visit!
