We hired Sunseri's to provide full bar service for my birthday party with 55 people in our backyard. From the start of the process through the event, the communication was outstanding, and everything was very easy. We had the hosted bar which included everything - beer, wine, vodka, tequila, gin, rum, whiskey, mixers, garnishes, cups, ice, etc., etc. We did not have to think of a thing! Our bartender, Jamie, was excellent! She set up the bar completely by herself and broke it down by herself. She was really efficient, and she worked really hard. Had a poor experience at our wedding. Our venue allowed us to bring our own alcohol. We only needed Sunseri there to make the drinks. For months prior, I called/emailed them to try and get in touch and make a menu/get an idea of amounts. I didn't hear back from them until the NIGHT BEFORE my wedding. I had 200 people at my wedding. Since, I have heard nothing but complaints from at least 40+ people of how rude the bartenders were, they didn't know our signature drink (even though it was on a menu in front of them), they skimped on product (even though WE provided it). They were even rude to my husband, the groom! I would never use them again. I am so embarrassed and mad. The venue made us use this vendor. They also hardly spoke English. Wells Fargo showed that they had someone cash our 5k dollar check, then they charged us the amount AGAIN for the bar. This service is shady, if this is the bar your venue allows, get another venue. Of course I got the open bar anyway, but it was just okay poorly serviced and they scammed my family. Don't send any cashiers checks to any PO Box or mailbox to this bar service. I hired Suneri's for my Wedding Labor Day weekend as part of our contract with the Catalina Room and they were PHENOMENAL. For our wedding we did an open bar from 4:15pm-11:00 pm and allowed a tip jar in lieu of gratuity charge. They did such a great job that we actually ended up tipping more. They worked with our requests and allowed us to have custom "Couple Drinks". The bartenders were super friendly and had a good heavy pour which all my guests loved even though they were tipsy before dinner lol. They were able to accommodate the numerous details and questions we had such as specific beer types, upgrades, etc. We hired 3 bartenders which was great because there was never a line . Mike and his team provided the bar for our wedding at the Houdini Estate and they did a wonderful job. We had 2 bar setups and they did a fantastic job at serving our guests. To say I am disappointed with Sunseri's is an understatement. They were one of the two bartending services that we could go through for our wedding. Basically what it comes down to is they said either they would (1) charge us no gratuity and they would leave out a tip jar during the wedding or (2) we would pay them gratuity and they would NOT place the tip jar out during the wedding but that they would accept tips if it was "offered". We went with the latter (#2). we paid them gratuity.. and therefore they were not supposed to have a tip jar out during our wedding.... but could only accept tip if it was offered. It came to my attention after our wedding (from one of our guests) that there was indeed a visible tip jar out for our open bar. I personally did not want a tip jar out during my wedding.. I did not want ANY single guest to have to worry about cash during our wedding (that was very important to me)....... I really wanted to take care of my guests and again I didn't want a single person to have to worry about cash and if they wanted to tip then great but it was not supposed to be an obligation. I didn't speak to many guests about the service but was told my one that one bartender was slightly rude.. and also told by another that they did not have cash with them but said they would bring it later and all the bartender said was "okay"... but again we paid gratuity so the tip really was not supposed to be an obligation. The bartender should have said no problem we've already been covered..so don't worry unless you want to. When I called Sunseri's after my wedding and let them know I was unhappy about what happened and that I wanted to be refunded the gratuity that we paid *even though it was not enough to fix the situation... because I really didn't want a tip jar out*.. they said they would call the bartenders to understand what happened. Most of the people working at Sunseri's have pretty good customer service. Apparently, the bartenders excuse was that a guest told them to put the tip jar out in the open and that they were pretty persistent about it. I told Sunseri's... whether or not a guest told them to do this *which I am not sure I believe*.. you don't just listen to a guest...they should have asked my day of coordinator or the individuals paying for the bartending services .. aka bride and groom. A professional institution should not just listen to one guest who told them to put a tip jar out (which again I do not 100% believe). Anyhow, Sunseri's refunded me the gratuity which honestly they had no option because they had their tip jar out.. and that was our agreement.. so in any case, they didn't do me any favors.... It was either us paying gratuity or them leaving the jar out. I wanted to get refunded more than the gratuity we pay because it felt like they went behind our backs and did the opposite of our contract agreement. I let the company know that either they did not communicate our wishes to the bartenders but either way it was done without our authority. The owner called me back and said he would have to take a loss.. which I let him know was not my issue. Had the bartenders honored our contract and agreement like any ethical company does... they would have been able to accept not only the gratuity but also the tips they received that night...so I urge you... if you HAVE to choose Sunseri's as your bartending service ... then please stress the terms multiple times.. and also let your wedding coordinator aware so they can assure this won't happen (my wedding coordinator didn't do anything wrong but had I known Sunseri's didn't honerr their contract I would have made my coordinator aware). Sunseri's... not happy with your bartending services and I hope you have a better grasp on the bartenders that you hire in the future and ensure they are 100% aware of contractual agreements on the contract. We hired Sunseri's for our wedding day bar service. They were the exclusive vendor for our venue, so we didn't have a choice to go with another company. Considering that they did not have competition, they could really price gouge, but I have to say that their prices were very competitive (I called other beverage catering companies to compare prices). In fact, my husband and I were on a very tight budget, so the owner, Mike, worked with our budget, and I really appreciate that. Before the wedding day, they were fabulous to work with. Come wedding day, they somehow "erroneously adjusted your service time rather than that of an event at the same location the day before." Sunseri's began bar service at 4:30 PM instead of the agreed upon time of 5:00 PM, and ended bar service at 8:30 PM instead of 9:00 PM. Subtracting out 30 minutes of service from a 4-hour open bar is significant. It's very unfortunate because even our wedding coordinator CONFIRMED the start time and submitted a timeline to Sunseri's a few days in advance. When I asked Sunseri's about the mixup the following day, they said "Though the bar was open for a total of four hours (4:30 to 8:30) we would like to offer you a refund for a half hour of service in the amount of $232." That amount doesn't even equal the time lost. In fact, having the bar open for four hours is irrelevant because everyone was at the wedding ceremony from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM, so no one was even getting drinks for 30 minutes. I recalculated everything, and they agreed to refund us $316. Even then, I felt as though we should get back a lot more than just the 30 minutes worth of bar service. In reality, we lost a lot more than just $316. The mix up completely killed the mood. 1) Our guests left early as a result of the mix up 2) Many of our guests said they didn't order much alcohol earlier in the day because they wanted to wait until the last 30 minutes to get all their drinks in 3) Some guests tipped $20 in advance, and never even had a chance to get their second drink before the bar closed. We tipped $40 in advance and got one drink each. 4) More than a dozen of my friends INCLUDING the groom told me that the bartenders were very rude and unfriendly and basically told them "too bad, you're shit out of luck" instead of being more friendly and understanding about the mix up. What we lost was time spent with our guests because they ended up leaving early, and that cannot be recouped. But if I had to put a monetary value to it, it is much more than just $316. read more

There was a short list of pre-approved bartenders that we could use for the venue and they were BY FAR the nicest and most flexible that we spoke to on the phone. We absolutely loved Rafe and Justin from Sunseri's! They were more than bartenders the day of our wedding. They were hype men, smiling faces, and helping hands. At one point they went totally out of their way to move heavy sandbags at the venue, not by request, just because they saw that it needed to be done. As far as their bar skills, they were friendly and innovative to us and our guests when making drinks. Their pours were generous. We had a very rainy wedding day, and the setup of our venue was not at all like how we had planned it to be. But Rafe and Justin came prepared for the rain, with a plan to keep themselves, the bar, and our guests dry. As far as booking them, Justine and Mike were exceptionally responsive to all of our questions via email before we booked Sunseri's and they were patient with us in our back and forth correspondence. The bartender was very polite and professional and kept our guests with drinks in hands as they needed. We got the beer upgrade too, which was an excellent decision - we were able to serve our guests a great selection of craft beers and ciders, and the team at Sunseri's even went the extra mile to make sure they could serve a particular seasonal cider that we had requested.
