After a rigorous search of bartenders, we luckily stumbled upon Missy and Tweena who were absolutely perfect. Since I didn't know much about alcohol, I laid out a barrage of questions to Missy which she quickly and patiently answered. After giving her a few thoughts on our theme and the drinks that we wanted, Missy was quick to understand fully what we wanted. We were also on a budget and wanted to shop for alcohol on our own, but that wasn't a problem at all because Missy knew exactly what to buy, in what volumes, and where to get the best deals. They even pushed for us to go with the harder to pour, bigger bottles to save us money. I would say that she was beyond excellent at estimating for the size of our wedding as nearly all of the alcohol was consumed by the end of our reception. Everything that they did in preparation of our reception was phenomenal, when it came to serving drinks...they were AMAZING!!! Talk about service with a smile, I have never seen bartenders as great as Missy and Tweena ever. They were so popular that our guests wanted to take pictures with them! We actually found Chef Joe and Epicurean Events LA at a gay wedding expo. He had samples of different appetizers, and upon tasting them, my taste buds started singing. I complimented him on his food, took his card, and told him I'd be in touch. I called the following Monday, and told Chef Joe what we were looking for, an unconventional wedding with no buffet, no plated dinner, just passed appetizers and food stations. We wanted a casual, lounge-type atmosphere with high quality food. he said he could do it and put together a menu to fit within our budget. We had a tasting in his kitchen, and the food was even better than we had imagined. He took constructive criticism well (which there wasn't much of, just personal taste), and the menu we put together was a reflection of both him and I. It was awesome! Chef Joe came out to our wedding venue prior so he could see the logistics, and really helped us with mapping out where the food and bars would go. On the wedding day, all of his staff looked great, were extremely courteous, and highly professional. The food was the highlight! Not only did it look beautiful, it tasted amazing!
