Awesome Beverage Service for Parties & Special Events! SITREP I recently attended a special event hosted at the ICIS Apartment Homes, and N2 Mixology was the wonderful outfit that provided the drink options & the beverage service to all of us attendees. THE SETUP There was both a main bar area in the upstairs lounge area of the Office for ICIS Apartment Homes. [It has a wonderful vibe of a trendy club, with lots of space and great furnishings.] This set-up permitted the good people at N2 Mixology to prepare the drinks at the bar, as well as set-up server platters full of drinks to distribute. And so I have to say right off how impressed I was with N2 Mixology's ability to cover such a large crowd of people (upward towards 200 by my own personal count). THE BAR Oh my goodness! There were so many delicious cocktail creations, and a shout-out needs to go here about the featured talents of Niko Novick and his crew from N2 Mixology. THE AWESOME REP Since starting N2mixology LLC back in 2011, Novick has been busy consulting with other bars, helping design some of the set-ups around town for new establishments. He has also been busy being booked for many shows after-parties, including the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, and Toronto Film Fest two years in a row. The guy and his team's drinks are amazing, and the adding of dry ice gives some of the drinks I loved in particular since it gave a very mystical ambiance as they smoke up! I sure wish someone besides JOE answered the phone here this morning. I guess we will never be able to find out what all of the fuss is about due to his rude phone manners. I called today after filling out the online request for info about 10-12 days ago, then emailing about a week ago. When Joe answered the phone this morning, I was relieved to know they were around and could answer some questions. When Joe went into his spiel of asking ME questions, he got very upset if I'd need to stop him for clarification. He was annoyed I didn't have a more specific time than "evening" for the party that I'm in the midst of planning. He was condescending when I said my husband was "into mixology and had been to some of their places" which was I guess the wrong thing to say (??) -- [they have a list of all of the speak-easy-type places and bars in which their mixologists have worked so...?]. When he asked if we had a bar in our house, I said we could rent one -- that also annoyed him. He told me they were very expensive, he also said something about protecting themselves from our guests being rude to his mixologists bc they're young? WTF Joe was super arrogant and told me he'd been doing this a long time and if I would just let him speak this would go better. I was not interrupting him and if I ever did, I would say, "I'm so sorry, let me just stop you for a second..." before clarification. Then he said if you want to talk to somebody else, which I wrongly assumed meant someone AT HIS COMPANY who could clarify things, he told me to go to a different company and to have a nice day. Mixology is THE THING right now. So you can imagine my surprise when I called N2 Mixology and had an actual mixologist, the infamous and elusive Niko, answer my call after 2 rings! Then something even weirder happened: We chit chatted about his craft for a good 10-15 minutes. There was no rushing to his drink lab or hankering to get back to his nitrogen. He just sat there and answered all my dumb and uncool questions about what mixology entails and what it costs. Plus he had an accent, so that was nice. Fast forward to my party, because duh I booked him. He and Alex and very charming woman who's name escapes me, were THE HIT of the party. Let me list out the things they did that were amazing: -Lit numerous drinks on fire. -Used Nitrogen to make pomegranate honey dust (I think?). -Never made the same drink twice (unless requested, of course). -Dressed as if they may have just come from some sort of apothecary steampunk booze lab full of fancy drinks and a lot of old wood. -Kindly shared with us what was in each drink. -Used their fancy mixologist powers to make drinks that fit people's personalities -Didn't rush out the moment the clock struck 'stop'. -Brought a LABORATORY of tinctures and garnishes. -Brought (what seemed like) a piece of Antarctica to chill our drinks, making mini ice bergs as needed. -Made drinks that smelled like grapefruit and vanilla, but tasted like honey and toasted carmel (magicians). -Did I mention LIQUID NITROGEN??? This group is the creme de la creme of libations. They will come to your house and spoil your taste buds for eternity, so be warned. You will never look at a whiskey sour the same again. About 1.5 weeks ago, my husband and I attended an event where N2 Mixology came to supply the etoh (alcohol for all of you non science people). The line and wait to get a delicious concoction made by the bartender was a bit longer than we wanted to wait. But we were so intrigued with all of the fog and noise coming from his little work station. So I just had to stand in awe and watch him a few times to make other people's drinks. I even stood closer to the bar area just to get an more up close look because it was pretty awesome and I had to video the man in action. I love the thought of the use of science mixed in with a hand crafted drink. The bartender's use of the dried ice kind of reminded me of those up and coming new ice cream type of shops, but what makes this more appealing is the alcohol :) If I had to choose between ice cream and alcohol.... well.... =D If only I knew about N2 Mixology before I got married because I would have totally considered having them at my reception because it would just add more flash & flair to the soiree. Having N2Mixology at your next event will definitely impress your guests as it did at the event I attended and have people talking about it for weeks or months & help get your event off to the right start. read more

I need more stars for these guys. We held a private party at my friends house and from the start of putting the event together with John, to the night of the party with Nikko (who's also easy on the eyes, ladies)to his assistant Gus it was a fantastic experience. All the guests were wowed, not just with the full bar set up with the fresh juices and garnishes but with the alcohol 101 that Nikko explained to the group as well as the one on one drink making lessons that each of the guests were able to participate in. There's no way I'd use any other bartender services. N2 Mixology is it, look no further. read more

Credit me at least people -_- ***** But that's not regarding the review of this company... Went to an event featuring N2 Mixology... They use SCIENCE!!! They use science as part of serving drinks. Pretty awesome because I was a science major in college! They created drinks and added extra touches of nitrogen and blowtorches - you know how it reacts with heat!!! SCIENCE! BARTENDER: Man, that bartender was a mix between YOUNG Crispin Glover (from Back to the Future), Gaspard Ulliel (from Hannibal Rising), some of the members of FUN. and Joseph Gordon Levitt = cutie. Yes, he was well dressed and cute! He knew what he was doing! He was quick too. Very professional. He just knew step by step how to make the drink and add the effects. Very organized. DRINK: I ordered a Bourbon Rose drink and OMG, delicious. It had nitrogen added to it to create the dry ice effect and it was delicious! I could drink that like nothing - and I RARELY drink!!! So this is a good sign. OVERALL: You would think they'd need a lot of room to do this kind of stuff but this guy literally had a corner of a small kitchen and was still able to create these beautiful mixes. I absolutely love Niko! I met him at Rabbit Hole and he's my favorite bartender. : ) He's one of the smartest, creative bartenders I've met. Niko definitely knows what he's doing behind that counter. He's super professional and also really fun to talk to. Everything he has created on his menu is super innovative and the presentation is always superb. It's funny cause I ordered a new drink item at Rabbit Hole that had carrots and some other ingredients that you wouldn't imagine would go well in a drink. But I decided to be adventurous and try it anyway, fully trusting Niko, haha. It actually was really tasty and I was surprised that I couldn't even taste the carrot! I attended an event the other night and was so excited to see Niko Novick of N2 Mixology was there performing amazing feats of mixology. The amount of artistry and craftsmanship that went into each cocktail was amazing and the drinks themselves were spectacular. My drink had gin, campari, lychee bitters, and was topped with a delightfully delicious and beautiful cucumber foam. I was blown away! My partner in crime had another gin drink with hibiscus and was equally impressed. N2 Mixology is the real deal!!! So professional! So talented! After worrying about who to use for a professional bartender at my private birthday party, Niko was the right choice. He set everything up, customizing to my needs and making sure all will be perfect. After speaking with him, he recommended Marlyn, who was amazing. In fact, she was the talk of the party, upstaging me, the birthday boy! But that was all good, because everybody had an amazing time. Niko is great! He bartends at Rabbit Hole (my favorite bar) Thursdays and Fridays. He is really good at what he does. You'll see it for yourself when you order a drink. He moves with such swag! I am in much like with the Hot Shot. Bunch of puckers and some vodka and there you go, a fruity shot that tastes like watermelon flavored lucas lollipop candy. He's known for his nitrogen ice drinks which I have been wanting to try but was not able to attend the Yelp event he bartended at. He makes the drinks strong and definitely does not hold back on the alcohol. If you're looking for a bartending service, he's the guy for good drinks and a show to watch while he makes them! Brilliant and masterful. As an event planner myself, these guys are some of the best I have seen behind the bar around the country. They have taught Mixology 101 for fun corporate classes and worked a handful of major events I have been in charge of producing. John went back and forth with me for the planning process for weeks and the night of the event, the whole team rocked the house (Niko, Ken, Karli). Johnny and Niko of N2 Mixology are freaking AWESOME! We recently used them for a 300-guest party. The drinks they created were unique, beautiful and tasty. Every order was filled with attention to detail and pizazz. The bartenders were fun and extremely good looking. What particularly got my attention was that all of their mixers were freshly made including the almond syrup, grenadine, juices, herbs and ginger. The drinks were often served with liquid nitrogen or fire to our guests' amazement. They met with us three times prior to our party to formulate the drink menu and offer us tastings and two more times at the venue to discuss setup without charging us extra or giving us a hard time. Frankly, I'm just trying to figure out a reason to throw another large party so that I can ask them to come back. They promised us a lot and delivered even more than they promised. read more

I had a black and white party back in January and this was my first time throwing a real shindig and it couldn't have went any better and I have Liquid Life to thank for that! I had my brain melted when frozen by N2 Mixology during SXSW. The pleasure of drinking N2's tasty cocktail concoctions was amplified by the spectacular presentation. The sublimation of the liquid nitrogen makes the look incredible, the freezing of the cocktail topper and the fresh ingredients made the look congruent with the flavors tickling the tongue. What an awesome experience with N2 mixology. I was attending a party and decided to have a cocktail. At first I was thinking I would play it safe and order a vodka soda, but once I noticed the way the bar was set up I knew I had to get something better. My first drink was an Old Fashioned which was literally the best old fashioned I've ever had. For my second drink I went with the bartender's choice it was muddled strawberry, balsamic vinaigrette, sugar and tequila and it was delicious. Drinks came out super fast and most important they were very polite and professional. I will definitely recommend them to anyone that needs a bartender . read more
