We didn't get it, but people exiting the restaurant raved about the food and they were right. I got the Parisian crêpe and that was the most flavorful breakfast. I've had in a while. Cooked perfectly and beautiful layers of food. When you cut into it and turn it on its side, you can see how delicately they layered everything. My wife got the Spanish tortilla. We've had this in Barcelona before and it was very close and taste. A little dance for me, but she enjoyed it. Both of these dishes are really shareable. The coffee was OK but my wife's latte she said was excellent. Lastly, plenty of parking and they also have a small area with baked goods. Don't miss this place.

There was about a 30 minute wait when we arrived, but it honestly flew by since there are some fun little shops nearby to browse while you wait. They are also dog friendly on the outdoor patio, which we really appreciated! Just keep in mind that the wait for outdoor seating can be a bit longer. We ordered the Farmhouse Breakfast and huevos rancheros, and both were delicious. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the potatoes were seasoned so well. I also tried the Maya hot chocolate, which was delicious, along with the sparkling cranberry juice. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we grabbed a few pastries from the front beforehand . They were all so good, but the savory goat cheese and tomato pastry was definitely a favorite. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the freshness and quality of the food. Between the atmosphere, great service, and delicious food, this was definitely a place we'd come back to!

Our server, Chaniece, absolutely made the experience. I told her I wanted to order some of the most authentic Spanish dishes on the menu, and she came through perfectly. She was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed excited to help us experience the restaurant. If you have questions about the menu, ask for her recommendations--you won't be disappointed. My partner ordered Martin's Breakfast Burrito, and I had the huevos rancheros. Both were fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for. Michael's Kitchen is only open Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., so plan accordingly. We arrived around 9:30 on a Sunday morning and had about a 30 minute wait. It was busy, but the wait was actually enjoyable because the restaurant has several little nooks filled with antiques and artwork by local artists. There was plenty to look at, and the time passed quickly. Taos has many wonderful mom and pop restaurants, but from what I learned during our visit, there are fewer locally owned restaurants serving traditional Spanish cuisine. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try all of them, but I'm very happy we chose Michael's Kitchen. Between the authentic food the welcoming atmosphere and Chaniece's outstanding service, it was one of the highlights of our visit to Taos.

We came here on the first full day in Taos after a recommendation from a local shop owner. The avocado toast with a sorrel paste was extremely tasty. The beans were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The green and red chile sauces were both on point and better than what I got at more well-known restaurants in town. The smoothies and chai masala were very creamy and tasty. Additionally, the vegan potato and corn chowder was a delicious lite lunch item. Very pleasant service as well. Once there, the first order of business was finding a restaurant because we were all ravenous. Some of us wanted breakfast, and others were ready for lunch. We were fortunate enough to track down the Bent Street Grille, because it turned out to be perfect! It was a Sunday and the place was crowded with hungry diners. However, the staff was able to put together a table for six right away, which seemed almost miraculous. It's a lovely restaurant with seating both inside and outside. There was a musician playing out on the patio but in a low-key way, so the music didn't intrude on conversations. (Important because I'm slightly hearing impaired.) It was difficult to choose between all the tempting options on the menu! But I finally settled on the Berry Nice Waffle. It was excellent! Others selected the Bent Street Eggs Benedict and French Onion soup. All the dishes were delicious with generous portions and fresh ingredients. We'll definitely return to the Bent Street Grille if we ever get back to Taos!

For the main course we both went with the steak fajitas. The steak was a little on the tough side, but overall still really good and heavily seasoned. The portion is generous too. One order could easily be split between two people. It comes with rice, beans, cheese, pico, and three tortillas. The restaurant itself is super charming. UP TO DATE REVIEW! March, 12th, 2026…read more Today, Thursday at 6:00pm, I arrived at the El Monte Sagrado living Resort and Spa. The architecture of this place is very distinctive to Taos and its aesthetics, so it was very welcoming in its nature. After checking in at the restaurant I was then seated very kindly at a table that was neatly displayed and arranged. Everything was clean and crisp making the physical experience comforting. Besides that, the real question is how is the food? My initial thought was how beautiful the food looked! It was visually creative but still refined for plating. Presentation wise, it was quite impeccable. I was faced with some seasonal dishes that were expertly curated for flavorful taste. The dishes nuanced smoothly with robust umami essences and delicate savory kicks! The experience of the food left all my sensations arresting. It was meticulously executed and left me very satisfied as a customer. Overall I had an immersive dining experience that would only lead to my recommendations to others. The other reviews really make this restaurant an understated luxury. Durring a previous visit I also had a brief but impactful experience with the chef, Cristina Martinez. She is as iconic as she sounds with her deep roots in New Mexico. From my personal intrest I found out that she attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and graduated with honors in 2006. The college heavily focuses on precision knife work, classic sauces, plating discipline, and traditional culinary terminology. You can tell that she puts love into the work she accomplishes and reflects authentic New Mexican family traditions while keeping things professional. I can not express how wonderful it was to meet her and know the generative mind behind all the transcendent dishes! I hope whoever reads this review finds it helpful and intuitive to your needs! your's truly Savannah Romero.

Since there is a sweet and sour mix in them I went for a white wine instead and it was perfect for the day. We ordered our drinks and chips and guacamole to get started while we looked at the menu. Our server was super and we sat on the patio in the shade which was lovely. There was plenty of shade for the hot day. To stave off our hunger while we looked at the menu we ordered the chips and salsa with guacamole. The salsa was fabulous as was the rest but I had to comment on the salsa because so often these days it's just too tomato-y or bland. This was flavorful and had a bit of spice.
