I usually start at Yelp for recommendations of local businesses and I messaged Dr. Anderson on here last Wednesday. He messaged me back within a few hours. I messed up the dates for my consult, it was actually Monday 11/29 but I came today . Luckily someone didn't show up and Dr. Anderson's staff took me in. I'm glad I shopped around. I had a consult last week with a DIFFERENT ortho in town and was quoted $5,610 for Invisalign with this vibrating "top notch accelerator" that was supposed to accelerate my treatment to 12 months. This was after the ortho looked into my mouth for a few seconds. Dr. Andersen was super professional and when he ripped open a new sterilized kit, looked at each individual tooth and started talking measurements and other dentistry things to his staff, I knew we were in business. He was honest and didn't try to sell me on anything. I now have an appointment in December for a four month treatment to take care of my bottom teeth and a top retainer to keep the top straight, all for about a third of the price the other ortho had quoted me. This place is great. I messed up on the date of my appointment so I was seen pretty quick, but if you have to wait a month or so to be seen here, it's definitely worth the wait.

Our 12-year old had an upper molar that was so crooked it was growing inward toward the roof of his mouth and affecting his bite. It looked pretty bad. The first orthodontic office we consulted with recommended a palatal expander to widen the jaw. We were wary about this, especially because that appointment started 1.5 hours late, and we never spoke to the actual orthodontist, only a case manager. So, we sought a second opinion with Dr. Yang, and it has been completely a day and night experience! Our son has been a patient with Dr. Yang for 16 months now - appointments are always on time, the office is clean and welcoming, and the staff are always wonderful. Under Dr. Yang's care, we were able align the molar using braces without an expander. Dr. Yang is a very knowledgeable, caring physician and has the patience to answer all my dumb questions. The front desk staff and dental hygienists are all incredibly friendly and professional, and I've especially appreciated how easy it is to keep my insurance updated with them and the clear communication they've had about billing. Dr. Afkham does the work himself! He does the cleanings and pays close attention to what he finds. A couple of appointments ago, he found a cavity (my first ever--I was really nervous about it!) and explained the cost of treating it right there and had me treated and out in half an hour. So, HE ASSAULTED ME AND THEN CHEATED TO THE POLICE. I visited the clinic for an exam regarding wisdom tooth extraction March 27th. Based on prior communication, I was under the impression that the visit was a preparatory step for the extraction. However, I was informed during the visit that the extraction could not be performed there and was referred elsewhere. A misunderstanding arose from the clinic's initial communication, which I believed to be misleading. Upon addressing this with the front desk, a disagreement ensued. Dr. Afham intervened, and the situation escalated. Dr. Afham forcefully instructed me to leave, resulting in him physically grabbing my arm and pushing me all the way out of the office, causing my phone to fall and further adding to my distress. I immediately contacted the police to report the incident. However, Dr. Afham provided a conflicting account, stating he merely "opened the door" for me, which led to the police being unable to take further action. This experience was not only humiliating but raised serious concerns about the professional conduct at Davis Smile Center. It is particularly disheartening given my history as a loyal patient over the past three years. I am considering filing grievances with relevant professional and regulatory bodies, including the Delta Dental Program, the Dental Board of California, and the Better Business Bureau, to seek redress and ensure such conduct is appropriately addressed. All three orthodontists I've seen there were knowledgeable about Invisalign. They listened to my concerns and provided me with great professional .feedback. The orthodontists are only here once or twice a week, so scheduling might be very limited. But beside this, my experience thus far has been superb.

Our longtime dentist retired and the next office I tried, Vacaville Dental Group, randomly stopped taking our insurance after onboarding all four of my kids. Instead of being upfront, they tried to charge us and kept saying they were "working on getting back in network." Weeks turned into months, my daughter needed a checkup, and the front desk response from a lady when I called was... let's just say, less than warm. Immediate nope. Cue Kids Care Dental, aka, why didn't we come here sooner?! This place is clearly designed for kids and parents who value sanity. TVs on the ceiling, sunglasses, headphones, and a calm, welcoming vibe that immediately lowers your blood pressure. The dentist is one of the kindest, most patient humans, she genuinely loves working with kids, and it shows. Every staff member was wonderful. While I was there, another little patient had a hard time leaving a toy behind, and an employee simply let him keep it. Meltdown avoided, mom relieved, kid ecstatic. Honestly, I almost asked if I could have a toy too The only small hiccup: calling initially routes to a call center, not the clinic, which made asking questions a bit annoying. But they texted me the paperwork the day of the appointment, I filled it out before we arrived, and they told me I can text the clinic directly going forward. Problem solved. When my daughter was 2 years old, my husband and I noticed clear enamel erosion, discoloration, and visible decay on her four front top teeth. We proactively took her here fully expecting her to need caps or silver crowns. Instead, the dentist dismissed our concerns, told us "it's not that bad," and claimed she didn't need any actual dental work. She told us to just brush with fluoride toothpaste and that it would be fine. We trusted her professional judgment.Now, exactly 18 months later, that terrible advice has blown up into a nightmare. Because the dentist practiced passive "watchful waiting" instead of actively treating the decay or offering preventative shields (like silver diamine fluoride), the active infection spread aggressively across her entire mouth.We just found out she now has widespread cavities and needs full oral surgery to have 5 teeth extracted. To make a horrible situation even worse, this clinic does not even offer payment plans. They demand that you pay the total cost--nearly $3,000--completely upfront before they will even perform the surgery.Because of their negligence, they allowed tiny, completely treatable surface issues to turn into a major dental crisis for a four-year-old child. Now we are forced to scramble to come up with thousands of dollars entirely upfront just to get my baby girl out of pain. This place failed our family completely, both medically and humanly.
