UGH, this is a shame. I used to love this place. It's affordable (I came here in college) and they did a half decent job. Today was rough. I had red polish that had to be removed and there's still speckles of the red that wasn't removed. I also got this beautiful dark green that NO LONGER looks the same. They've clearly thinned it out one too many times and now it took 3 coats and still isn't the opacity I was hoping for. The manicure was extremely sloppy. After being a regular customer, I think it's time I stop coming here. I didn't even touch on the hygiene/atmosphere of the place... save yourself, it's gross. They probably only clean up for audits. read more

I cannot think of a worse experience for dip manicures. I only went because JC creative was closed for building repairs, and let me tell you if you are looking for good dip manicures go there NOT SUNRISE NAILS! Firstly I was assigned to the male tech as soon as I walked in although I wanted to take my time and pick a color. He started working immediately and became annoyed when I did not have a color picked, which is hard to do when he is already working on my nails. From there he rushed much of the job and dismissed my concerns when I pointed out cracks or unevenness in the application. As you can see this resulted in a very sloppy job with the color on my skin for most of my fingers. Lastly, a main reason I get dip is to eliminate the UV light exposure. He forced me to place my fingers in the UV light machine multiple times which was truly the last stray. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have never left a review on any place l've ever been to. I walked in and asked to have my UV gel nails removed. And then a regular manicure with clear nail polish after. She proceeded to wreck havoc on my nails, leaving me bleeding. She used an extension tip in order to remove each one of my nails and when I proceeded to yell in pain and asked her to buzz them off her answer was I can't do that. My fault for staying, but I really needed my nails removed. Then left my nails with a layer of gel on them Didn't file or push back my cuticles my nails are all different shapes and sizes and then proceeded to ask me if I wanted a color. I paid by credit card and she had the nerve to tell me where to leave a tip for her. I cannot believe I left a nail salon in pain. I could have removed my nails better myself. read more

Will not be returning ever again. All I came for was a soak off and regular gel manicure. The process, even when waiting for other clients to be done, should not take over an hour. I arrived @2pm .. didn't start my soak until 2:40. I am usually very patient. Unfortunately I have to be at work by 4. Me arriving 2 hours before work should have given me enough time. I soaked for 45 minutes. It's now 3:35 and still no one started on me. Someone walks in and gets there whole full set as I was waiting. Absolutely ridiculous. The man does good work. It wasn't until I was ready to walk out that they wanted to then take care of me. I am now forced to go to work with my nails looking disgusting. It's always the rude customers that get attended to. Subpar to say the least. Came in for a pedi yesterday, but decided to get a mani as well since my usual salon was closed - manicure chipped that same day. Pedicure experience: the lady did an okay job. As far as sanitation is concerned .. eh. Manicure: probably the worst manicure I have ever paid for. Streaky, lumpy, and she failed to fully cover my nail with the polish. She used an old, dried out polish and upon my request for a much newer polish, she said "top coat will fix". The top coat made it look better but I could've did a much better job. Once she was done, I asked if she could clean the sides of my fingers where she got polish on. She gave me the ugliest look as if I was asking for the impossible. I asked her if there was a problem but off course she cave in to my request (as she should as I am the client). I also noticed she purposely would put clear top coat on my skin to remove the polish stains - but it clearly did not work. Do better please, you have so much competition on central. I called around 2pm for an appointment for 7pm for four people. I was asked if I could come a little bit earlier so we agreed on 630pm. Arriving there at 620pm, I checked in. Let them know we were there. All I got was an: Okay. We waited for about 40min and nobody accomodated us. They could've at least given us an estimate how many more minutes we'd have to wait. This used to be my favorite nail salon I went here for years but honestly today I had the worst experience I've ever had in the facility. On Friday I came to get a full set with gel I paid $40 and I started to notice that I guess the quality of the acrylic was really terrible it look like my nail needed a fillin which usually takes two to three weeks to even start to look like. So I called the Nail Tech I always go to and I go in and he basically tells me well you don't know how it's supposed to look when anybody can clearly look at my hand and it looks like I need to get a fill in when I just got my nails done 4 days ago. I am really so disappointed with this nail salon I can't believe they wouldn't even fix their mistake when it looks like the acrylic is coming off of my nail and starting to peel up in 4 days especially after the amount of money that I have spent in here on Friday and over the past 10 years it's really ridiculous and they're running their company into the ground read more

I use to come here all the time( 5 years to be exact) and today I wanted to get sns which is the dip powder. First they tell me $40 ( at another higher end place they charged me $35 with acrylic set and dip powder with amazing products and higher rating) but i was going to take it in all honesty until the manager looked at the lady and said no $35. So, I was thankful for that. I asked for a soak off and the girl was trying to get the color that was going to be used and then i see her scavenging for the base, top, and set which is 3 sets that are always used for the dip powder. I can tell something is wrong but i just go with it. She doesn't have the first step and jumps into 2nd step and honestly I was going to see how far she was going to go with it. She was doing well and then got frustrated and grabbed another bottle in which i read " gel manicure base coat" I'm paying a higher price for dip powder to not have to put my hand under the LED light and tried to scam me and i spoke up saying I'm paying for the healthier set for my fingers. The whole process wasn't how it should've been and then she says she cant do this and says she'll take it off. Everything was said with an attitude and she started talking in Vietnamese in which the dialect was her being very nasty towards me. She wasted my time when she could've told me she didn't have the correct set of materials and I would've been okay with it. I would have just done my soak off and maybe even have said gel was going to be okay but the fact that she tried to scam me really pushed me over the edge and how she wasted my time on it. I would have rather liked her to be truthful then make me sit on that seat for so long for her to not even complete the job. I went here twice to get gel manicures and have left happy both times. Kathy, is the woman that I have had the pleasure of being taken care of by. She is friendly and efficient. During the 4th of July it was raining and a woman leaving had no umbrella, a gentleman that worked there walked her to her car carrying an umbrella over her head the entire way. It was kind to see. My manicure has lasted well over two weeks, both times! I would recommend this place, and have many times. My only suggestion to make it better is to clean up a bit, sometimes it feels a bit chaotic, but the prices are hard to beat! :) read more

Nice place to get your tips done right. I HATE chunky tips and this place made them nice and then just like I asked. They get a 4 star rating because of the girl nail tech (I heard the two guys are great), she got a little sloppy polishing one nail towards the end but it's barely noticeable and I specifically said short tips but she still made them a bit too long for my taste, but to be fair I should have asked her to file them down more. However she did a VERY good job making sure no nails were crooked, choppy or uneven. They also get a 4 star rating for their mediocre color selection, not too much Opi colors and seem a little dried out. They have a high quality black polish (which I got) and they came out great! And they have a really high quality mood color changing nail polish as well, so cool!!! $25 for a full set and $15 for a refill, cheaper than design nails down the block and better quality than express nails :) Book an appointment if you're worried about time and be strict that you can not wait for long or you have to leave, I walked in at about noon on a weekday and things were slow.
