I called sunrise lab on friday to inquire about a kit that I needed to pick up. The gentleman on the phone was very professional and answered my questions. However, when I called today on 3/17/25, nobody picked up. It kept ringing until the call would eventually drop. I decided I would stop by while I'm out and see if they're open or not. I got there around 3:40 PM and a hispanic lady with short hair was at the desk on her cell phone. I greeted her and she just grabbed my prescription. She seemed pissed off that someone came in at the end of her shift so I told her I was picking up a kit-not getting anything else done. She was huffing and puffing about why everybody is coming to this location today. I told her I tried getting it from my doctor's office but there was a miscommunication and they closed early. I wasn't going to drive another hour again just for the office to decide to close early again. She was huffing and puffing the whole time and when she gave me a bunch of cups, I asked for instructions because I had never seen urine cups given out for stool sample collection. She told me to ask my doctor and talk to them about it. I wasn't even given a specimen pan to collect the stool in. I asked for instructions on whether I should refrigerate it from the time I collect the sample to when I transport it to the lab, and she told me "yes, but you won't be able to do them all tomorrow because you have to fill all the cups up." I asked about how much was needed since the P4 kit is one simple small tube that doesn't require much, but here I am with 9 urine sample cups. I have no idea how much to fill them with. She was annoyed and telling me to just put some in each. Then at the end, she was emphasizing how I could drop it off at ANY sunrise lab, it doesn't have to be this one. I got the idea that she doesn't like to do her job and didn't want people coming here, which explains why nobody was picking up the phone today when she was there. She said if you do end up dropping it off here, you have to be here at least 3:30 PM. I told her I called multiple times and nobody picked up which is why I didn't even know if they were open or not. The online hours show them as open til 4 PM. If she doesn't want anyone coming in towards the end of her shift, maybe she should actually pick up the phone and help patients who are looking for guidance. Overall, a very unprofessional experience. The labels she printed for my samples have me listed as the wrong gender as well as a date of 03/14/2005. I'm driving to my doctor's office to pick up the kit. I'll drive another five hours if I have to, just to avoid this mess. read more
