After having a very difficult respite experience at another facility last year, I was extremely nervous about trying again. As a caregiver, leaving someone you love in the care of others is not easy. From the moment we walked into Putnam Ridge, I felt a difference. We were warmly welcomed, the facility was clean and smelled clean, the residents were well cared for, and everyone we encountered was friendly and spoke to us. I talked to my mom almost every day while I was away, and hearing how strong and comfortable she sounded gave me a sense of peace I did not have last year. For the first time, I was actually able to relax on vacation knowing my mom was safe and being cared for. To the staff of the Apple Memory Care Unit, thank you for caring for my mom and for giving this caregiver something just as valuable: PEACE OF MIND. Respite care is not only about caring for our loved ones. It allows caregivers to rest, recharge, and breathe, knowing the person they love is in good hands. Thank you, Putnam Ridge. Pet Care Pets can be extremely important to a senior's mental, emotional, and physical health. Nevertheless, caring for a pet can become more challenging with age. Our caregivers can help ensure that pets are getting the attention they need to stay healthy and happy; by feeding and grooming pets, and taking dogs on walk. Yard Work While fresh air and sunlight can do wonders for a senior's outlook, too much yard work can become taxing. Our caregivers can assist with mowing, weeding, planting flowers, pruning and other outdoor projects. Seniors can participate to whatever degree they are interested and able. I just spent 35 days at this facility after hip replacement surgery and here is my accounts of my…read morestay. Facility- the rooms are equivalent to a 1 star motel. Don't expect fancy accommodations but I was able to make it through. Rooms are either single or double rooms lucky I got a single with shared bathroom with one other room. Staff- this is why I'm awarding 5 stars. They treated me like a person rather than a patient. The nurses and aides in my opinion were fantastic. I didn't have to want for anything and several really exceeded my expectations for service and compassion. Physical therapy- the stars of the show. They worked with me every step of the way. From not being able to move my legs out of bed to being able to walk using a cane. They understood I had good days and bad days and worked with me even when I didn't want to exercise. I know I did the work but they encouraged me. Food- listen I'm not a snob but if you can order food in or have family bring you some, take it!! Lunches were the best of the 3 meals dinners were hit or miss. Small changes would make a big difference for the residents. Oh and breakfast you best like scrambled eggs because you get it 6 days a week. I was in the South 2 unit and I was happy with the staff. Thank you for allowing me to heal.

Thank you to all. This knee injury was bugging me for 5-plus years. At the worst times, I could not carry grocery bags up the stairs from the basement/garage. I was told they accepted my insurance and that the back office would confirm my coverage. Ten days later -- after repeated follow-ups on my part -- I was finally told I'd be responsible for my co-pay plus balance. When I checked directly with my insurance carrier, I learned MOST is out of network. This should have been communicated from the very beginning. Instead, I lost 10 days waiting in pain for treatment I couldn't even receive under my plan. Patients deserve honesty and transparency about insurance coverage up front. Very disappointed.

It's a scam. I went…read morehere for about 2 months. I was in terrible pain the first appointment and they wouldn't adjust me.. made me wait till my next appointment 5 days later. The adjustments did not help. I was even feeling worse at one point and the doctors kept saying "oh yeah it's normal to feel worse at first" - with no real legitimate explanation. I did eventually feel a little better but I don't think it was because of their adjustments. I found the doctors either condescending or creepy. When I asked one of the drs if he recommends any exercises to strengthen my back, maybe something that isn't as intense as what I normally do which is deadlifts, since my back is still recovering, he said "You do deadlifts?" and literally laughed in my face. (I'm a young woman.) That was the last straw. I feel like these people actually do take themselves seriously and believe they're helping. So maybe some clients sense that and believe in them. She is always caring, compassionate and personable. She's always interested in "you"! Most recently my 17 year old son woke up with a severe neck spasm. He couldn't get out of bed and was in severe pain. I called Dr. Kavulich and she made time to see him right away. She spent an hour treating him with various types of adjustments and therapy. The next day he was at least 70% better!
