I took my mom in for a pedicure. They pushed me into an upgrade polish and said it would be 45.00 dollars. Then I went to pay it then was 55.00 dollars. Needless to say she did not receive a tip because I was quoted 45.00 dollars. My mom is 88 so she was happen with her nails being done but I would NOT being going back. I went there because a friend went there earlier in the week and got hers done for 30.00 dollars. read more

Had similar experience as one of the other latest reviews on here. Was on vacation, typically get my toes done beforehand but had no time. Went to the shops on Asbury and saw the nail salon and thought perfect! I'll get a quick pedicure. Be prepared to be hustled, uncomfortably stared at and overcharged. When I walked in I had a not so friendly greeting. I picked a non gel color and immediately they told me to get gel, which I agreed to. As I was getting my pedicure, I was told I need to get matching manicure, I declined ... multiple times. I simply didn't have the time. I was picking up lunch for my family afterwards. Then I got handed a giant menu of different types of fancy expensive pedicures. I declined that as well...the guy who did my pedicure was very nice and did a good job .. assuming his wife? Kept turning around from her chair and staring . The price on the electronic board (which I'm sure can be changed at anytime should prices go up) on the wall for a gel pedicure was $36. The website has $31 .. I, however, was charged $46 .. which is it?! I guess that was punishment for not falling into their sales tactics. I normally would dispute it but the lady had such craziness in her eyes I was not about to argue with a nail salon lady and ruin my beautiful day on vacation. I tipped him $10... paid an additional $10 for absolutely no reason .. for a total of $56 for a simple and basic gel pedicure that was listed for $36. He deserved his tip. As for her, keep your $10 hunny! Enjoy! Hope it helps! Needless to say I will not be back. read more

I went here last year for a combined manicure and pedicure. It was phenomenal! I couldn't wait to return when I was visiting my sister in Ocean City. We went tonight and wow, what a difference a year makes. If you don't buy the spa Pedicure and the top of the line nail treatment for manicure, they treat you like poop. No kidding. My sister and I were not in a rush but didn't want the spa treatment because we were going to dinner afterwards. We each got the regular manicure and regular Pedicure. They actually told us we would have to pay five dollars to get sugar scrub. Are you kidding me? I can get a whole vat of it for $10. But OK whatever we each agreed to it. Then they kept trying to upsell us more. They were so ignorant. The one girl was trying to talk to us with a mask on and we couldn't hear a word she was saying nor understand her because of the mask. It was a poop show today no kidding. They are not consistent and I will not return. read more

Extremely disappointing Absolutely horrible experience. I asked for a regular pedicure and somehow got charged $130 for the most expensive one after being constantly upsold. When I questioned it, they literally tried to gaslight me and claim that I had asked for the deluxe service. I know exactly what I asked for. Their solution? A $20 gift card that I will NEVER use. Charging someone $130 for something they did not ask for and then offering a useless $20 gift card is unacceptable. I feel completely taken advantage of and will never go back. read more

waited almost 40 minutes when I had an appointment booked. I had to walkout because it was going to be another 10 minutes wait. Horrible customer service. read more

Second time coming here and had a very disappointing experience. My girlfriend and I went for a regular pedicure and somehow ended up getting charged for deluxe pedicures, without requesting one or experiencing any deluxe service. They never asked if we wanted deluxe only if we wanted gel so i ended up getting clear gel and it was $15 extra!! Our total came out to $130 for two regular pedicures. I would not recommend coming here. read more

I won't go there again. They over sell you on everything. My daughter got an infection on her toe after a pedicure. The nail was cut too short. read more

Amazing! Love Sami! She does amazing work my manicures last so long! Been going for 5 years

I live local and have been going on and off here for a while. Experiences always mixed, always trying to over sell you on services, quite honestly only really go here because it's convenient. And quality of service always inconsistent. This last time I went in for a dip manicure, the guy was so rough while doing my nails. He asked if I wanted my cuticles trimmed which are usually included. He almost made me bleed he was digging so hard around my nail beds. I finally had to ask him to stop and that I had to to be done. Then when going to check out they charged me an extra $20 to cut my cuticles which I told the other guy at the register he wasn't clear that it was an extra charge. I had to pay the manicure dip price plus $20 extra....never ever going back again. I highly recommend you avoid this place and go somewhere else or off island. I gave them one too many chances. read more

Go to OC nails - avoid this place!! Should have known better Walked in with my 7 year old who wanted her nails painted with stripes- the girl quoted me $40- ok- fine for a full manicure service but all she did was change the polish! 40 for a polish change? Higher than the prices on the website even - scam! read more

My husband and I got pedicures with Lena and Sam that were amazing. First pedicure of the season and they went above and beyond. Service was excellent. We went at 1pm on a Sunday and they got us right in. Can't wait to go back! read more

Where do I begin? well two nails are bleeding ("I'm so sorry he is so rough" they told me when I checked out ) . BOTH the paint on my toe nails and finger nails weren't the paint I chose. The walk away and come back with different bottles and then no one speaks English when you ask questions. Was the most painful, frustrating and actually scary experience I've had in any store. I've never written a review before for a nail salon and figured I needed to. It's literally not safe - the guy even accidentally (in his haste) rolled my chair out from under me and I nearly fell on the floor. They're a train wreck that should be closed down. read more

over charged - selective unfair pricing I feel like my daughter and I were completely taken advantage of. I received a glorious spa pedicure from a very nice gentleman. The price for a spa pedicure was $65 but I was charged $80. The same went for my daughter and her friend. They specifically asked for limited number of details on their nails but the techs added more to their nails and their price. I take responsibility for not clarifying what we would be charged upfront, but that doesn't make it Ok for them to over charge me. I was very relaxed once the pedicure was done and not prepared to argue the prices that were all more inflated than what their service menu states. My daughter (only 14) felt that her tech was pressuring her to spend and spend more. She felt uncomfortable and didn't speak up. Don't trust them. I have had much better experiences at Pinky's in Linwood and Envy Nails in EHT. I only gave two stars because my pedicure was really amazing, and my tip reflected it. read more

I wanted to like this salon. I went with two of my friends for a girls' day to get manis and pedis. The staff and overall environment was welcoming. But, my gel manicure did not last which was super disappointing because I got it for the holidays. Within two days my thumb polish popped off. Then before a week was over half of the gel polish on other nails popped off. I say popped off because part of the polish did not peel, but it completely popped off each nail. I never had this happen with a gel manicure ever! They usually last three weeks or so. If I had known this would happen, I would never had paid the money I did. I would not recommend this salon if you want a quality gel manicure that will last. read more

Sunray Nails & Spa - Chrome nails for Easter - Nail Salons Near Me - Ocean City, New Jersey

I've never had a good experience here. In the past I've explained to them I have thin nails and asked them not to use the electric file on them and they have ignored me. The gel I've gotten in the past has dented the day after I've gotten it done and lasted less than a week. I gave up going there. However I have a newborn and live on the block so when I needed my nails painted for something I ran over there and got a polish change for my toes and nails. I sat under the dryer for exactly ten minutes... would I have liked to sit longer? Yes. But like I said... newborn. I made sure to not do anything to mess up my nails while I went to the store in somerspoint and picked up dinner. Four or five hours later I sat on the couch with my feet under the blanket and tucked my feet under my leg and it felt sticky. My nail polish scrunched up on my toes. My husband was also complaining about how strongly I smelled of nail polish and I checked my nails and they were denting and smelled terribly. The nail tech was adding paint thinner the whole time she was doing my manicure. I didn't think anything of it at the time. I just went back in this morning to show them I had to remove my nail polish last night because it smelled so bad and I showed them my toe. They did offer to fix it but kept blaming me over and over for not drying long enough.... I think 4-5 hours should be plenty long even if I didn't sit in the salon to dry longer than ten minutes. I do that regularly and never have experienced the smell or denting/crinkling/smudging. So I walked out and let them know I'd share that they blame the customer for their cheap products. I'd rather have no polish than sit there and have them blame me like that when I took the time to come back in. Photos and a video attached. The one photo shows it was 8:42 pm when my fingernails were still denting in the video. I'm also mad I tipped $10 on a $30 bill. Not deserved. read more

Chose Sun Ray Nail Salon randomly on Google and got lucky. This place is a relaxing little haven with very friendly and kind staff. My teen daughter, her friend and I went here on our last day in Ocean City. All 3 of us got gel nails--the deluxe is worth it...they use the warm paraffin wax on your hands and massage so well. I also got the deluxe pedicure. It was heavenly and just what I needed to wind down after a fun filled week at the beach. I definitely recommend this particular salon and will be back next time we're in town. read more

Prices are ridiculous. The board on the wall said $26 for a pedicure. As I'm in the chair with my feet in water, I'm shown a menu of only 2 options: $45 and $65. I'm somewhat shocked. But I'm in now so I say the $45. At the end of the pedicure, the water is drained from the tub and he's painting my toes, his coworker begins throwing trash in the tub beneath me. Then I'm charged $50 instead of $45. I was over it by that point. I'll never go back. read more

I will never go back to this place. I asked for acrylic removal and a manicure. The girl ripped my acrylics off using a fake nail and just filed them. While filing, she cut my finger, causing it to bleed, then put nail glue over the cut. I was charged $30 for my nails to be left looking like this. If I knew this was how they would treat my nails, I would have just ripped the acrylics off myself. read more

Everyone who works there are always so kind and they make you feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door. They introduced me to dip powder and I will never go back to gel again. They have such a wide variety of dip powder colors which I LOVE! (the gel and regular nail polish colors are beautiful as well) This is the only place in/near ocean city that I go to, and all of my friends/family that I bring with me love Sunray as well! **Bonus: they ALWAYS have some type of sale going on! read more

Sunray Nails & Spa - navy blue dip powder (no tips) - Nail Salons Near Me - Ocean City, New Jersey

I went here back in July while vacationing in OC with my boyfriend's family. First of all, they took all necessary COVID19 precautions. It appears brand new inside and everything was very clean. Second, my gel manicure was absolutely PERFECT. I unfortunately cannot remember the name of the girl who did my nails, but she was so incredibly meticulous and it was the best gel manicure I've ever had in my life. My nails looked acrylic but were indeed my real nails. She took the time to paint all the way to the cuticle and shaped my nails just as I requested. I live over an hour from OC and would drive all the way back just to get my nails done here again! Unfortunately I don't have a photo of my whole hand, but you can see how perfect my thumb was done. Five stars! read more

Normally, this is my go-to spot to get my nails done. The people are friendly and they do a good job, but there's one reason I won't go back. They take appointments but don't pay attention to them. Usually when I make an appointment it's because I need to get in and out within a certain amount of time. Every. Single. Time. I come here I end up waiting 30+ minutes with an appointment. There's never been a single time where they're actually prepared for my appointment. And the entire time I'm waiting, they're still taking walk-ins! If you're not going to take appointments seriously, then make it a walk-in-only business. I've started going elsewhere because I don't want to spend 2+ hours at a nail salon when I could've been in and out within 45 mins. read more

Sun Ray is my favorite nail salon in Ocean City. Highly recommend! I've never been disappointed with my pedicure or dip powder manicure.

Set appointments they don't keep. Just keep taking people. You wait even if you have an appointment. No respect for clients time.

This place tries to get money out of you at every turn. I went in for a gel manicure that they quoted me $65 for. I agreed but as the woman got closer to painting my nails I asked if she was going to do the cuticles and she said that would be $15 extra.. $80 for a manicure?? I questioned her and then declined the cuticle add on when she insisted it was that much. Two days later, one of my nails chipped so I went back in to have it fixed. I told them I had been in recently and said who had done my nails. Only after this new woman started working on the nails, she told me it would be $5 and when i argued with her she said the woman who did my nails before claimed id been in over a week ago.. literally accused me of lying and tried upcharging me for a job they did poorly. It's so blatant how salesy and weird this place is. Don't recommend. read more

Found the place to be really dirty. The walls and the baseboards were filthy. People were nice.... But had to wait 1 hour with my nails wrapped before they started my manicure. Yes-, they were busy, but wished they gave me an estimated time as to how long I would have to wait. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I made appointments for my daughter and me to get a pedicure and dip manicure respectively. They were clearly trying to pack in as many clients as possible and even though we had appointments they were taking walk ins ahead of us. My daughter was supposed to get their basic pedicure. They did paint her nails but did not do much else and the service lasted 18 minutes. I was supposed to get a dip manicure but since my tech was bouncing between my service and putting a full Set with designs on a 10 yr old girl, by the time my daughter was done, my existing dip was not even removed yet. At this point I asked them to just remove my dip which she did a terrible job of leaving some of it on my nails and I had to file and buff it off better at home. I had hoped for a nice morning out with my daughter and left paying full price for what should have been an express pedi and $10 for sub par dip removal. I will NEVER go here again. read more
