Factually speaking.....and the reason why "I" and so many others go to WaWa Convenience store vs…read more Royal Farms. I walked in about 11:15pm (traveling thru town) and I walked to the beverage section. I wanted to get 1 beer and when I went to open the door, I saw that the door was "pad locked". Ok. I walked to the front counter and patiently waited my turn. When my turn was next I said with a smile 'Hey, I see the beer section is closed. Have you stopped selling beer?". (I know that VA sells beer up until 12:00 midnight). The woman whom was dressed sloppily, said to me, "we lock the doors cuz people be stealing them". "I can open it for you" she said. "Ok" i said. So as we mosied over to the beer section I asked innocently, "So, what time do you lock the doors?". She said we locked them at midnight. I said...ok....but they are locked now. So what time do you normally lock them?. She said "We lock them at midnight". At this pont we had gottne to the doors of the beer section. I tugged on the door and pointed to the padlock that was restricting me from opening the door. I then said. 'But it is locked now". "So even though you lock them permanently for the night at midnight, what time do you lock the doors". She said" We lock them at midnight. Whaddya you want.?" Ok. So now I know what I am dealing and presented with. I said, " I decided that I am not thirsty". And I began to leave. Then this sloppily dressed worker muttered something under her breath and I was HAPPY to leave. Royal Farms is a sad option for a convenience store. WaWa patrons and employees are all so friendly. But when you go to Royal Farms/joke, the personnel are less than friendly, the patrons dont hold the door for you like they do at WaWa's. It is truly a lesson in building a brand, And the Royal Farms brands is unsatisfactory. I don't go to the Royal Farms 1 mile from my house either. I had a negative experience with a MANAGER there. Ill save that story for another day.

Clean store and good staff!! I had the 3 wing combo. Very salty but everything else was goodread more

It's a Sunoco station, so there's much to be comfortable about, and there's seven or so pumps (6 regular, 1 ethanol). Inside, it's as similar to any other convenience store, offering drinks and snacks for the common traveler, as well as alcohol. There's freshly baked food here too, such as fried chicken, sandwiches, breakfast items, pizza, hot dogs, and other things, pleasing those who want a comfortable meal in a place such as this. At the back, there's plenty of options for beverages, such as a soda fountain machine (Pepsi products), coffee/cappuccino/hot cocoa, slushes (Jolly Rancher), milkshake maker, and more. There's also a seating area for those who wish to eat inside (2 tables with a mixed bench/chair arrangement), TV sets for entertainment. You can't drink your alcohol inside the premises though, but the staff are very receptive to customers. There's also an ATM, dispensing 20$ s , but the sparse connectivity in DelMarVa and spotty internet means that you'll probably want to run the transaction again if it fails. Overall, it's a great rest stop, and one of a few you'll see along US Highway 113 for miles on end (north/south).

All their food is home cooked on the spot, and it's really delicious. The home fries with onions alone are worth the trip. The best part is it's cheap! The omelet comes with the usual - choice of potato, bread, and it's huge and under $7. The egg meat and cheese sandwich is under $4. Also worth noting is the great coffee. It's a local type place, a lot of farmers and locals eat there (as does the random traveller happening in from Rt 113 to points north and south) and all seem to know each other. It's very friendly and the staff is always pleasant and extremely nice (rare for these parts). The place is clearly run very well (again, rare for these parts) and I highly recommend. There is seating for dining in, and even though it's limited we have always gotten a table. A little dining gem hidden in plain sight in a vast wasteland of terrible food and service. Big thumbs up. **I don't hand out five stars lightly, and in 18 reviews this is my first five star.

The lady behind the counter was upset that she even asked so she took it back and gave her a new piece. But my mom had touched the chicken and this lady put it back with the other fresh chicken. Omg!! I was trying to tell her because I thought that was nasty, but she wasn't listening... Ugh. The mashed potatoes were the texture of rice somehow, they were overcooked. I told my mom to pick her battles and not complain. I don't mess with people making my food and this lady was clearly upset. My mom asked if the chicken was fresh and I think that's what started the whole uncomfortable exchange. The chicken sliders were good and the store was clean. I did notice a lot of stores in the area had fly problems. It was a swarm of flies hanging out in the bathroom like they were regulars, in the bathroom trash was running over, and it wasn't clean in there. They have several gas pumps, restrooms, food and drinks. The line moved quickly. But customer service just didn't seem to be a big deal to anyone. This wasn't the best Royal Farms I've stopped at, but they had what we needed. You'll pass 100 of them, so take your pick. Lol. All in all they could do better!!

I know it wasn't just the last guy because of the air fresheners they put everywhere. There were so many flies, I thought I was in a barnyard. The floors in the main store were dirty and unswept. I should have known it would be bad from the way the parking lot was so unkept. Empty cardboard boxes everywhere, piles of dirt and trash littered the parking lot and all the curbs and gutters. I have seen some bad royal farms but this one takes the cake by a mile. I'm saddened to see it in such a disgusting state. ‍
