It's always…read morereally busy and it's not really easy to get in and out of because this portion of Dunn Avenue is always really busy. It's large and clean. They have all the latest gadgets gas stations/convenience stores seem to be getting nowadays like milkshake machines. They even have a blood pressure machine in here... now that is definitely a first! There's a nice selection of hot food items; always, it always irks me that they always seem to be out of tamales no matter what time of day it is. They also have the ever popular Beer Igloo. Ton of gas pumps, but because they are so busy, it's not uncommon to have to wait for a pump. There are always several employees working, but for whatever reason, it seems when I go to the register there's only one employee there with like 10 people in line. Is it really that difficult for another employee to come to one of the other registers? Yes, I'll keep stopping here because we drive by often and are always in need of something. But I'm just not a huge fan of this Gate.

In the past two weeks that I've been here one lady was straight up eating a sandwich while cashing out guests, and another time a different female was eating a bag of Doritos and licking her fingers in between customer cash outs and wiping her hands on her pants. Not only is that disgusting and unsanitary, but your customers don't want their items to be touched by the hands of someone that's been eating at the cashier station and also don't want to be rude and do what should be the manager's job to begin with.

Since that time, I've come to find myself doing the same. One thing I can appreciate about BP is their rewards program. I do know that there are other gas stations that offer a similar program but at the time, I couldn't pass up a thirty-five cent discount on gas. Over the past year now, I've been able to average in between four and seven cents with every twenty gallon fill up. That may not seem like much but with the way gas prices were in 2018, I dreaded trying to fill up. I kept my BP card on my person at all times! Just over a month ago, I noticed BP is offering services on their mobile app. As long as I'm able to check-in Yelp, I am also able to log in my gas and continue to get rewarded as well!

Even though I have a high number of check-ins here, it still doesn't even begin to reflect how much I actually stop at this store because half the time I forget to check-in because the stop is so quick. Gas is as cheap as it's going to get in this area of town. There are plenty of pumps and enough space between the pumps that you're night right on top of another car. I've never had a problem with any of the pumps working properly. The store is always clean, as are the restrooms. Tons of snacks can be found here in this large store and everything is always well-stocked. The cashiers are nice and friendly. Buy one of their 64oz plastic "jugs" (it's either 5 or 6 bucks and comes with a fountain drink) and then you can come in whenever you like and fill it up for a buck. You don't even have to have one of the Gate "jugs" ... you can have one for Hess, 7-11, etc... they'll still let you fill it up for a buck. They have an air pump and it's free. Very convenient when hopping off and on I-295.

Gas is usually only about a penny more than other gas stations in the area like Gate and Racetrac. Sometimes, when traffic is busy on Dunn Avenue, it's easier to stop here and pay the extra penny rather than trying to cross over to the other side of the road and stop somewhere. Unless you're just wanting to make a quick stop for gas because it's convenient, I'd go to the Gate or Racetrac because you'll find a lot more in those stores, they're a lot bigger, and they are a lot cleaner.

This Murphy Oil sits right in front of Walmart at Beach and Southside. They have cheap gas prices…read morefor the area. If we're on this side of town and need gas, this is where we usually stop. This is not a "store" you can walk into. There's a window you can walk up to pay for gas and buy cigarettes. Sitting directly outside of the window there are a few items you can pick up and pay for at the window like chips, soda, bottled water, Gatorade, and Red Bull. That's it... that's all they have.

When I do Ride-a-longs" witH, JSO-we take our short breaks at a Gate. The bathrooms are very clean and they give us a complimentary soda fountain drink.
