I'm not sure that I like the new model, where I can't see the bras or bathing suits. I'm limited because of my size, so this is one of the few places I can find bras that fit. It is up to the fitter what I can see or try on. This doesn't always work for me, especially in bathing suits. read more

Sunny J's Bras in Plymouth MI has individual fittings which is why I went there. I bought several of the same bra, wore one of them but didn't like how the straps slipped off no matter how much I tightened them. Still had 2 or 3 more with the tags still on, but wasn't allowed to return them. Their policy is exchange only even if tags on and even if within 2 weeks of purchase. I knew there wasn't any other bra that would fit right. So I got stuck with what I had bought no matter what. I've never worn them! This is a really bad policy. I should have been able to get refund for the bras that still had tags on. I'll never shop there again. read more

I've been a customer here for 20+ years. It's nice to find a bra in my larger size that's still sexy. However, the new store setting is so disappointing. You can no longer look at the swimsuits. A fitter brings out something you have no interest in. Panties are crammed onto a rack. It was easier shopping at the old location. I don't shop here near as often as I used to. I understand making appointments for fittings but stop making me feel uncomfortable just for stopping in to browse. read more

I have always had success shopping at Sunny J's! It's a unique shopping experience as you get fitted then are asked questions about what you need/want etc. Then the items are brought into you and it's narrowed down to your choice! Sure saves the hassle of trying on ( especially swim) that isn't going to work for you! Every fitter that's helped me is wonderful and professional. Wonderful experience here- bra shopping can be super traumatic and this place is absolutely lovely. Rachel was my fitter and she was excellent- I am not easy to fit and she was fully knowledgeable and brought in multiple choices. I left with 3 new bras that I was very happy with and I plan to come back whenever I am visiting my family in MI. Had a great conversation with the owner the day before - they're extremely compassionate and truly listen and take their time with their customers. It's important, I know many of us are vulnerable in that space. High quality bras and loungewear, extremely well priced - the service, fitting and merchandise made this a very happy experience for me. I love their swimsuit selection as well- that's next up.... Everyone working who I encountered was very nice and professional. I suggest making an appointment - I was there midweek and one day it was very steady (all rooms and fitters going at one point)- but they took walk ins too. read more

Sunny J's policies and customer experience are deplorable. I purchased a swimsuit top for over $100 and was NOT told at the time of purchase that they had a no refund no exchange policy. I then tried to exchange the swimsuit and had to make an appointment to do this. Once I waited for the appointment and came in, I was told I could not exchange it for something else. My time was wasted and all this could have been avoided had I been told at the time of purchase that all sales are final. On top of that I had a horrible experience. I had to make an appointment and could not browse their selection of swimsuits. Instead I had to wait in a fitting room while I was brought several swimsuits that were all over-priced and not to my taste. The sales person never asked what colors I preferred or if I wanted a print or solid design. I find their policies too strict and they do not care about the customer or the customer experience. I will never shop here again. I'd like to support local businesses, but given Sunny J's policies and my experience, I'd much rather go to a department store. read more

Called on the phone for a very specific request, was told that they had several options in my size. I took off of work and drove over 32 miles to find out I was misled and offered an item that did not meet my request! Although it took 2 reviews to get a simple apology.. They still did not offer to order me the item that I needed but continued to defend their lack of customer service and blamed the entire waste of my time on me! This place is great. You can book an appointment online and they will help find the proper size bra or swimwear that you need. I needed undergarment for my wedding dress for added support and they helped me find the right fitting bra to do that. They had so many options available. Took my wife here. She's somewhat difficult size for being so thin, yet busty;and with Xmas approaching I didn't want to purchase the wrong size ' boulder holders'. LoL Though it's a small place, once you check in (and you must check in) they get to patrons relatively quickly. Their prices are a bit steep. I found it to be a bit frosty attitude wise in this store. They can measure you but it seems they will still get you bras of different sizes and wing it at any rate. I went for a bra fitting here for a wedding and was not impressed at all, ended up in some shop Downriver instead. No selection really lingerie and swimsuit, I agree what they have is outdated and skews to an older crowd. Maybe I am picky but this place doesn't do it for me. read more

Beware of this retailer that positions themselves as expert fitters and prides themselves on customer service. I had the worst fitting of my life for a very special occasion. It fit so poorly that I was uncomfortable the entire evening of my sons wedding. Furthermore their return policy exchange policy is the worst. Following the wedding I had to exchange not return a bra and because it was two weeks late they wouldn't let me so now I'm stuck with a bra that is a size too big. They will not make exceptions to this and you can buy the same products online for a lot less and get a better fitting because if they don't fit you can return it. read more

Strange wonderful place. I'm going to tell you right now: you are wearing the wrong bra. And you can come here and get the right one. Seriously. They will spend time helping you find what you're looking for. I needed an undergarment for my wedding dress. The fitter worked with me and happily. If I was on the fence, she didn't hesitate to let me think about it. She wanted to get me in something I loved. Also helped me find the swimming suit I'd always wanted. I've been putting off getting one for years because they never fit or stayed on or covered what a wanted or exposed what I liked. I was excited to visit the store because of the good Yelp reviews and because I really need some good quality bras. I had stopped there a few years ago and remembered what a nice selection they had. The clerk asked if she could help my friend and I find anything in particular, and I told her I was looking for a push-up bra that was not padded. She asked me if I wanted to be measured and when I declined, she kind of threw her hands up and said "Well, they're all over the store" and walked away. If that was the case, she could have followed up by asking if I had a color, style or brand preference or if I had any strap requirements, etc. I had intended to buy at least a couple of bras that day, but I left after that poor customer service moment. I went in to the store with my friend. We were told they could take one at a time or we could make an appointment and come back together. We chose to make the appointment. When we returned for our scheduled appointment, they took my friend and never helped me. After waiting a half hour with no updates I left. I was helped by a matter-of-fact woman who stuffed me into an assortment of bras and explained signs of fit. I bought 3 bras (mistake, I should have purchased 1 and tried it out at home) for about $190. The bras are the brand "Freya" and make The Girls look terrific -- but, BUT the seams and whatnot are ITCHY. :O( I would have liked to return them, but there are only exchanges, no returns and with the 35 minute drive, ehhhhhh, I waited too long. Also, the band size ended up being too big: I should have argued for 36DDD instead of 38DD, but I felt of intimidated by the sales-lady when I said I feel more comfortable in a 36" band. I am hoping that washing the bras a few more times in lingerie wash will soften the itchy spots (actually seems to be helping) and I also ended up ordering a few CK bras in 36DDD that fit nicely/no itch for 1/2 the cost. So yes - be assertive if you go, they have some interesting brands and hard-to-find sizes but be absolutely sure you like what you try on. read more

You can see the price tags when you browse the store but when I went to try them on, I had to keep asking the price for the bras because they were marked. Then when I went to pay for it, the clerk suddenly "discovered" the bra was ten dollars more expensive than marked. I was sick of looking so I bought it. Went on a Saturday and Rachel seemed to rush my daughter and I through the bra buying process. Wore my bra the next day and discovered it was ill fitted, took it for exchange on a Monday and today's sales rep (who didn't introduce herself) also seemed to be on a hurry even though I was the only person in the store. She was short with me when I tried to show her the bright red sore spots left by this new bra, telling me I would always have marks from a bra. She hesitantly searched for a different bra and I left the store feeling like I had to fight to be refitted. I came here for a bustier for under my wedding dress. I was amazed by the swimsuit selection they seem to have and will definitely be coming back next time I am in town to check those out.... this time however, I was on a mission. I had a dress fitting that day and still did not have the proper undergarments. I held my breath hoping they would have my nearly comical bra size. They did! I tried on a few different bustiers and found one that fit me well and looked great under my dress. When I went to my fitting, not only did it look great, but they had to take an inch off the waist of my dress (hooray!!) Last year I would have given them a 5 star review, but not any more. I have been coming here for over twenty years at over an hour each way. I was fitted by a younger lady who I'd never had before. When I got home I decided that the bra would not fit for long since I am losing weight and the bra was hooked on the tightest setting. I went back and exchanged it for what I felt was a better size. Later I felt that again it wouldn't last long and called to see if there was anything that could be done. The only place that sells bras and swimwear that fits me. I can no longer shop at Victoria's Secret or mall bra stores due to having a larger chest, this store carries a wide selection of bras that fit normal sized women (16-18 size is average now!). Also, they have bras that will fit even if you are above the average- sometimes even in fun colors! The major problem with this store is that it is too far away for a quick visit! They do a fitting with you each time, if needed which benefited me a ton because I changed 3 cup sizes near my 30th birthday. No one else carries the variety and quality of brands in sizes. Linda measured me into the correct size and was FANTASTIC with finding me an array of options at multiple price points, colors, brands and materials. Not only did I feel very comfortable and welcomed, I walked away feeling like a new me! LADIES! I cannot stress enough, you are wearing the WRONG SIZE! Do not hesitate to stop in at Sunny J's! I developed early. I was a C cup by fifth grade. By the time I graduated high school, I weighed 115 pounds and was a DDD cup. Needless to say finding bras has always been difficult. The ladies at Sunny J's really know what they're doing. They are right there in the fitting room with you measuring you and getting you into the lingerie to make sure that it fits exactly the way that it is supposed to. Until I went to Sunny J's I was wearing a cup size that was 2 to 3 cups sizes too small. I have never had bras that fit this well or had a customer service experience quite like this. The ladies here are clearly dedicated to making sure that their clients look good and feel better! I would recommend Sunny J's and Denise to anyone who needs to find exactly what they are looking for in terms of fit and customer service. The bras, underwear, and bathing suits are cute too! For years I had been going to other bra stores and could never find a bra that fit me well. After a friend referred me to Sunny J's, I realized why I couldn't find the right bra - it's because I don't FIT in regular bras. The ladies at Sunny J's know their stuff. They carry ALL sizes so don't worry about getting an incorrect fitting just so you will buy something from them (like other stores do). Once you're in the right bra, you will look and feel so much better. If they don't have a size or color for you, they will check the other store's inventory or order it for you. The customer service is what keeps bringing me back. It might seem "outdated" to some, but the options are more limited in some sizes (like my 32F). As far as bras go, I don't care if it's a boring, tan color, multi-hook bra. It's not meant to be seen, it's meant to be supportive and comfortable. I did get a lot of compliments on my recent bandeau bikini purchase, so they're doing something right! (YES, they have strapless bikinis in large cup sizes, and they WORK!) read more

There is someone that is either the owner or manager, and she is excellent.I went in to be fitted when I was 5 months pregnant. Everything that she told me was right on. I have been fitted in this store 3 different times over a period of many years. Each time, I found the fitter to be condescending. Also, while she told me I need the same cup size I had been wearing, she said I measure 4 in smaller around than I think fits me. She fitted me in a bra that was so tight around my middle it hurt. When I told her that it felt too tight, she said it was the right size for me. I told her that if it hurt I wouldn't wear it. She insisted it was correct and I should get used to it. This was not helpful, in that her judgement was getting in the way of me finding a garment I could wear. read more
