There is a short uphill part that takes you up the mountain to an obelisk, which is really cool! Especially in late February - April, everything is super green and the weather is just perfect. Since this trail is dog friendly, you will see a ton of dogs around and my three dogs always have a really great time! This trail also has sections that are biker and horse friendly, so keep that in mind if you have dogs or kids. Always look forward to coming back to this trail with my hubby and pups!!

Each time the owner "they've never done that before". Hey it did that last time we were here! I had to kick the dog in the face because it attacked me while the owner was on the phone. This is the place people take their horrible dogs because they can't control them in public. It's too bad because my dog loves to play and go into the pool. He's just happy go lucky, a golden retriever, very mellow. There is nice seating and shade but it can be dangerous.

We knew it was drizzling, but hadn't had a message that the party was called off, so we headed up to Templeton Park to meet up with the rest of the family. At first the park looked empty, then we spied a group gathered in the picturesque gazebo in the center of the park. We parked close and walked over to discover our far flung family gathered for a festive birthday. The gazebo! Of course! Great shelter from the rain and room for at least thirty people to mill around. The kids were lining up for pin the tail on Pikachu as we arrived, then they took turns battering a pinata till the candy cascaded to the cement. As the rain came and went, the kids could run in and out of the shelter while we grownups congregated on folding camp chairs or just stood around chatting. We welcomed the rain and were so happy we got to safely enjoy an outdoor event!

Parking spaces adjacent offer a way to park and then walk / jog all the surrounding areas. The pedestrian bridge spans a creek, joining City Hall with its sunken garden, to an area with businesses including a multiplex movie theater on the far side. The bridge structure marries modern construction with a vintage style. Dear Hubby and I walked around the entire area on a Sunday morning, having the spaces mostly to ourselves. I like this addition to the downtown area.
