Its major retailers are stores like Myer and Zara, with luxury brands like Gucci, Fendi, and Chanel. It is owned by the Centre Group, which was previously part of the Westfield Group, a multi-national based in Australia. The Westfield Group was split in 2014 into a Australia/New Zealand portion (Centre group which owns this mall) and the Westfield Corporation, which owns many shopping centers in Europe and the US, including many that I've been to (Westfield Old Orchard, Westfield Century City, Westfield Topanga, and Westfield Culver City). We spent a bit of time here while waiting for our reservation at the Sydney Tower, whose customer entrance is located in this mall.

If you're as guilty of as much online shopping as I am, you've probably ordered as many cosmetics…read morefrom strawberry.net than you possibly need or ever will use. If you're the impatient sort like myself and don't like waiting the 4-7 days when your next delivery comes, then this is the find I want to brag about. For such a small cosmetic store (one that I'm hoping gets all the more attention it deserves), it holds a mega load of different products. I recently found a Guerlain lipstick online (Rouge G - Try it!) because I refused to pay the enormous rip off they charge at the major department stores. On this opportunistic day, I happened to find the same shade of lipstick at this store and I found it was even cheaper than strawberry.net (50c cheaper, but still...) AND it was minus the wait. They stock all kinds of cosmetics, facial cleansers, eyelash curlers and of these, most of them are quality brands like Clarins, Guerlain, YSL, Bobbi Brown and more. The stock is constantly changing which is annoying when you finally find that favourite shade of lipstick, but be mindful of purchasing old products as they may have deteriorated in quality. Hopefully you can tell how excited I was about this place but I'm no good at keeping secrets, have a look!

It's usually discontinued products so you can find stuff that may no longer be available elsewhere. They stock premium brands: Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein, Shseido and Lancôme, as well as familiar brands such as Clinique, Dr Lewins. Revlon, Maybelline and L'Oreal. You can get Chanel single eye shadow for under $20! I have also bought quite a few skincare products here from the Dior and Clairns range. Around Mother's Day and Christmas, there are plenty of make-up gift packs and skincare/spa sets which are great value for money and will impress the recipient.

I was in need of some new glasses and contacts. *note: Oscar Wylee does not do contacts*…read more I saw that they were advertising on their website a good deal for two pairs of glasses as well as offering to donate a pair of glasses to those in need for every pair purchased. I made my appointment and it all went very smooth. The optometrist was sociable and skilled and the time that it took to get the exam done was short. But when it came to picking out the actual frames the options were limited. Most of the glasses frames were very narrow; too narrow to fit comfortably. I ended up deciding on two pairs and they were ready within a week. About one month later the screws fell out of my full plastic frames and I was left without working glasses in the middle of a vacation. When I arrived home I started to use my other pair but within a week the cheap metal that was used on the nose pads began to turn and stained my nose black. The blackened area quickly became irritated and dry and also caused my skin to break out in massive black heads. Glasses need to be cleaned, faces need to be cleaned but to have a product that is created using cheap materials that turn and stain your face... not acceptable. So now I have been able to fix the other glasses with new screws but I am surprised because I have been wearing vision glasses for most of my life and have never had screws just fall out. The other pair of glasses is basically a waste since the cheap metal nose pads turn my skin black and irritate my skin. I would never go back to Oscar Wylee for glasses and I would not recommend them to anyone. It was money wasted.

The frames looked like cheap knock offs. Extortionate prices considering all the frames are made in Chinese sweatshops and you can find exact styles on Ali Express for $5 - $10. Not happy with my experience.

Boots, boots, more boots and plenty of other stuff in between…read more If you want to be a cowboy, cowgirl or cow baby, Route 66 is the shop for you. In business for over twenty years and being Australia's largest range of cowboy boots, Route 66 offers a seemingly endless collection of boots. They also sell a wide variety of 1950's inspired rockabilly, Americana clothing, hats, belts, sunglasses, handbags, lingerie and a selection of funky T-Shirts, my personal favourite being the "God Goo Muck" shirt. What excited me most in Route 66 was their range of kitschy, pop art junk, which I had to resist stocking up on, if you are in need of a Jimi Hendrix corpse in coffin (or the Ramones or Rolling Stones in a shared coffins), a paper mache skeleton a crucifix covered in guns and horseshoes knives and guns or other classic Christian kitsch. You can even find a Wacky Wobbler Rat Fink. I don't think I want to be a cowboy, well not this week anyway, but I did have fun at Route 66, it is a large and fun shop to wander around, the staff are friendly and they play a catchy mix of swinging country pop. Route 66 is definitely something different in Darlinghurst, even if it is not your style it is worth going for the experience.

Yeeeeeeeeeehaw this place is cool. I have a decently unhealthy obsession with vintage cowboy boots…read more I must have at least 12 pairs at home and back last year when I was packing to move to Australia (in two suitcases), I somehow prioritized taking 4 pairs. Sick, I know. I was window-shopping along Crown one evening a while back and spotted my new loves in the window of Route 66: tall, grey boots with white cut out detailing and small red hearts decorating the top. I like to think the love at first sight was mutual, but I might be lying to myself. The very next day, I marched my little self in there to claim what was rightfully mine. And then BAM, I was hit with the truth. My lusty loves who had made so many sweet promises to me through the shop window the night before, were playing cold, hard games with me now. There's a difference between playing hard to get, and actually BEING hard to get. And at $425 for the pair, this was no game. So, what could I do? Deflated and heart broken, I cast one last glance at my beautiful boots and bee-lined it out of there. If the interaction were a Western quick draw, I definitely hadn't been victorious.
