TL;DR Apparently…read moreShady Rays came onto the volleyball scene right around the time I retired, so I'm a little late to the party, but catching up! This time last week I had 0 pairs, now I have 3. It started with an obsession over a picture of a friend and a quest for the unicorn pair (discontinued HighTide Calimesa) she has. After calling (and texting!) the distribution center, extensively chatting with customer service via Instagram, and calling every retail store in the U.S., I found the last known pair in existence in Scottsdale. In an as-yet unconventional move, they were kind enough to ship them to me (free, as is all shipping on the website), and the rest is history! Show me that level of customer service and you've got a customer for life. Send me a coupon code I can't say no to, and I'll double down! HUGE S/O to Nathan in AZ for making my unicorn dreams come true! My traditional tortoise shell Erika Ray Bans have been rapidly deteriorating, so I replaced them with the limited edition Allure Black Leopard. My rose gold Aviator Ray Bans have the obnoxious nosepiece that gets instantly caught in my hair, so I replaced them with the Tangle Free rose gold Aviators. All polarized! Aside from the stellar customer service experience, let me tell you why I'm hardcore evangelizing over here: 1 Kentucky Proud company. Need I say more? 2 Flagship store in The Summit. Shop local! 3 Granted I had an unbelievable coupon for rhe pairs I purchased today, but even without, you can get 2-3 pairs of Shady Rays for the price of a single pair of Ray Bans. 4 Lost, stolen, or damaged replacements for $10-15, every time, no questions asked, within 2 years of purchase. This protection is INCLUDED with every pair, not an add-on! 5 Philanthropy. Shady Rays partners with no less than 4 nonprofits, in addition to providing more than 25 million meals to fight hunger across America and removing millions of plastic bottles from oceans. And counting! 6 There's a dupe for that; see my pics for side-by-side comparisons with Ray Bans. Oakley fan? They've got a dupe! Fan of something else? I'm not a sunglasses expert but they probably have a dupe or comp! From start to finish, this is a company you can feel good about doing business with. That's it, that's the whole schtick. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Located in the nicest shopping area…read morein Kentucky, WP exemplifies what every other place in The Summit at Fritz Farm has, class. However, the glasses and eye exams do not cost what you would expect them to, in an area and with presentation like this. You know the TOMs shoe concept? You buy yourself a pair and they donate a pair to someone less fortunate. That's the same concept here. You still think I'm exaggerating when I say that the prices aren't what you'd expect? See for yourself, all of the glasses are under $100... with lenses. Like any other place, you can upgrade on the lenses and pay extra, but even those prices are astronomically low. After LASIK surgery years ago for myself, I still find myself in a different eye ware store about once a year for my daughter. I've previously shopped for glasses at just about every place in Lexington. We once spent over $500 on a pair of glasses for her at another place, even those glasses and the overall experience didn't meet WP. I'm totally blown away by Warby Parker. And that price tag!!!

My friend then recommended Warby Parker to me and told me they had a store at the Summit at Fritz Farms in Lex! The store is absolutely adorable! Filled with in style, and great priced frames, all $95 or $145 including the prescription lenses (cool books on sale too!) Within a day I found my ideal pair, paid for them and they were able to contact my doctor and get my prescription for me. The staff was extremely helpful and knew a lot about the glasses and their business! Highly recommend and can't wait for my glasses to show up at my door!

They proceeded to inform me that they do not carry replacement lenses in store for women's glasses. They said that I would need to call the company directly for replacements. This is not the first time I have felt like this company has discriminated on carrying various items in store for women. I'll explain further on this later. My glasses were scratched really bad and I decided to bite the bullet and browse for a new pair. Diego was the sales person so assisted me and he was very knowledgeable of the difference between Polarized and Prizm Polarized which greatly helped me in making my decision. When checking out he explained that the glasses come with a 1 year warranty and that if it register my glasses online I will get a second year for free. As much as one pays I think it should come with more of a warranty but I digress. I paid for my purchase and was on my way very pleased with my selection. Now back to the part about the stores not carrying various items for women. I was in the outlet store in Simpsonville end of last year and was looking for a hat to replace the one I currently have. I inquired with the sales person because I couldn't find any women's hats. She let me know that they didn't carry women's hats at that particular store. I feel the company should really cater equally to both men and women in what they offer at their stores.

We had an external prescription, so my son did not have to get an eye exam. Today, we decided to get an eye exam since his prescription was close to expiring. Unfortunately, the experience was not ideal and, to say the least, not a positive experience. Dr. Wallace Guerrant's bedside manner left much to be desired. From the very beginning of the appointment, it was an awkward exchange of frustrations on his part. He was frustrated because some of the equipment was not suited for a smaller child and he kept requesting my son move a certain way or sit a certain way to accommodate the equipment instead of the equipment accommodating my son. He got extremely irritated because he was asking my son to look at a mirror behind him while he was shining a light in his eyes. You must know how to be patient with children because it can be easier to get confused. He lacked the patience that would be expected of a physician working with children. As a Mom, it was clear that his frustration were impacting my son and that is a NO GO, for me. After the unpleasant experience I chose not to schedule my eye exam with him. The other staff, like Karen, made the rest of the interaction much better. We won't ever utilize the optometrist for an exam ago.
