They were fantastic and affordable. With my prescription and designer frames, my glasses run around $800.00. How excited was I to find the whole package was $400 and they direct billed my insurance. Some I abandoned because the prices were about three times higher than what the other stores charged. Others I gave upon because they never had contact lenses in stock, and when they ordered the lenses, it took almost a month for the lenses to show up. Still other optical stores were just too much of a pain - we had to spend hours waiting for someone to help us. The worst case happened just today - the people who worked there were just plain incompetent. I don't want to trust my daughter's eyes to someone that can barely read the prescription I presented. Good thing I made that decision. Super Optical corrected a bad prescription that the first expensive and incompetent optical store had provided. Super Optical staff greeted us in a friendly way, the doctor came out right away and provided my daughter with a very thorough contact lens fitting (only $15). He answered my questions about an astigmatism that the other store had identified, and responded in a way that I found to be intelligent and knowledgeable. He adjusted the error that another optical store had made in the prescription, then sent us home with a trial pair of lenses so that my daughter could see until her lenses came in. He also gave us a complimentary starter kit with solution and a lens case. We got a year's worth of bi-monthly lenses for $195, and my daughter was thrilled with how comfortable the lenses feel. Super Optical is conveniently located and has plenty of parking. I hope this review helps others avoid wasting their time and money on glasses or contacts at other vision care stores. They offer coffee, tea, and water, there's a closet for your jacket in the waiting area. The area is never half full with plenty of seats and magazines on the table while you're waiting. When I went for my last eye exam, I didn't need to wait long for the pre-exam scans. I had to wait a few minutes in the other waiting area for the Doctor but there are lots of magazines to keep me entertained. The Doctor is friendly and personable and I don't feel rushed if I have questions to ask him about my eyes and products. He will show me my scan and let me know how it looks. He walks me out to the front where I pay for my exam. They direct bill to Blue Cross which is convenient. I haven't bought glasses here and I'm not sure how the prices compare to other places but they were busy when I was there and no one was available to show me frames right away. They have a sale now that's second frame free with a purchase of a full pair until the end of the year so I have time if I decide I want to buy glasses here.

I have an unusually small head (I'm only 5'2") so I often have problems finding glasses that fit me and sometimes have to buy kids sizes - so I figured a place that specialized in women might have a wider range of smaller sizes. Went in and made an appointment for a new eye check up at the same time, no problems, and then came back a week later to see the optometrist. She was super nice, very helpful and gave a lot of advice on whether to consider progressive lenses and what to look for. She also recommended some eyedrops, but unfortunately did not write the name down, so I emailed the place when I remembered later to ask what it was. They said it was probably one of two brands, which they named, but neither seemed familiar so I asked them to check when the optometrist was back in the office and confirm. It's been over a week now and they haven't replied, so unless the optometrist has gone on extended holiday, they've clearly forgotten about me - taking off a star for that :( I found the fitting helpful, it's great to have someone give dedicated 1-on-1 advice about frames and what suits, and they were happy to take a couple of photos with my top choices so I could see how they looked. I was told the glasses would take up to 10 work days to be ready, so I was pleasantly surprised to hear back after only 3 days that they were ready to pick up. I stopped by during my lunch hour to collect them however and this is where the other rating star gets lost - walked in and was completely and utterly ignored. The receptionist was nowhere to be seen, and the two ladies present were fitting other people with glasses and didn't even look at me. Even though one of them must have had to get up and buzz me in, they didn't even acknowledge my existence long enough to ask me to wait a moment. I ended up standing around for at least 5 minutes completely ignored until another customer wrapped up and then one was able to help me collect the new glasses. I returned the weekend after to ask if they could adjust the fit of one earpiece slightly, and exact same experience. No receptionist to be seen, two ladies busy fitting other clients and not a word, not even eye contact, ended up standing around completely ignored for 10 minutes without even being acknowledged or told how long the wait was. This is when I started wandering around to take a few photos of the place to add on Yelp, since apparently nobody even cared that I existed - the optometrist office side of the place was entirely deserted, I could have wandered into the examination offices and rifled through the supplies if I'd wanted to, there was nobody present and nobody paying any attention to me. Finally after a long wait another customer wrapped up and someone was free to help me - at which point she was perfectly polite and helpful to me, but again totally ignored the man who entered while she was talking to me. A few thoughts - first, the optometrist was great, I do like the fitting service, and their selection of smaller sized frames seemed fine. However, where is the receptionist? If the store is open, there should be a receptionist at the desk at all times, which means providing cover for her lunch and other breaks. If that's not possible, then ALL staff should be ready to promptly greet new customers and provide an idea of the wait time. Completely ignoring customers is a terrible experience and conveys a complete lack of interest in the customer and a lack of value for our time. The fact they've completely forgotten to answer my email emphasizes this. The customer service (or lack of) is definitely detracting from what would otherwise have been a good experience here, which is quite disappointing.

Support Local Businesses? Buyer Beware! My husband and I…read morehave always believed that buying local is the best way to go. We try to practice this belief as much as possible and shop in Leduc as well as use local services. On Saturday, May 20th, my husband visited The Eye Centre in Leduc Common to look for a pair of sunglasses. He ended up finding and buying a pair of Oakley sunglasses. On Sunday we made a trip into Edmonton with our kids and were greatly dismayed to discover the exact same pair of glasses were $70 dollars cheaper at several different retailers. When we returned home we went on the Oakley website where they are also listed for $70 less. My husband emailed the company and were told that the suggested retail price was $230 but that individual businesses had the option to set their own prices. Indeed! I called the business where he made his purchase on Tuesday morning at 10:00 am and asked to speak with the owner. He did not return my call. I phoned again at 5:45 pm and my call was taken by an associate named Krystal who stated that "their business did not price match" and that "my husband had the option of buying his sunglasses elsewhere". Good advice Krystal but too little too late. Their store policy that ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS. is clearly stated on their reciept. This initially did not concern my husband as he was satisfied with the glasses until he realized they were being sold for $70 less at other retailers. I asked Krystal for the owner's first and last name and she refused to give me the information. My advice to residents of Leduc would be to shop around first and not expect fair prices just because you're shopping local. If you choose to shop at The Eye Centre in Leduc Common, be forewarned that buyer beware is definitely in order.

It was a weekday afternoon and there were a few other customers looking. The sales associate approached me and I told her I was looking for glasses similar to the ones I had. She told me for the two for one I could select one frame from the wall and one from the middle racks. I looked and tried on a lot of frames on the side wall but none left or fit well. The frames I tried on first were the best. The associate brought a bunch and I liked one but it was too small. I decided to get the frames but in 2 different colours. She said the order would take 7-10 days. I had no issues using the Groupon and applying my insurance to the price. The prices of 2 pairs and clip ons after the coupon would be comparable to buying at the mall so that was great. She also took the measurements and I was in and out with 30 minutes. It was 16 days after and I didn't get a call about my glasses so I called them. It took several conversations but every time I called or they called me they were apologetic and gave me updates that the lab had some issues and needed to redo the lenses. It was 3 weeks and only one pair was ready and then the second pair a few days after. It was ok as I needed an adjustment on the first pair. When I picked up my second pair, I asked if they would offer me something due to the delays. The associate told me she couldn't do anything in the moment but would speak to her supervisor the next day and contact me. She didn't call me that day but a few days later and apologized for the delay. She told me they could offer me a $50 refund for the delay. I went in the next day and no issues to get the refund and adjustment on my glasses. So far I'm happy with my glasses and even though it took weeks to get them, the service was responsive and apologetic. I would come back next time I'm looking for new glasses!

DO NOT GO HERE! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE! Where do I begin. Absolutely horrible experience…read moremore than once and I've finally had it. I've been going to Optiks for 15+ years to see the optometrist and purchase glasses. One stop shop so it was perfect and I don't recall having any issues but it only took one appalling incident to change that forever. Here's what happened; I took my son to see Dr. Nimrit K. Nijjar at this location for his annual check up and she gave us a "corrective" prescription. Immediately the glasses irritated his eyes, I gave it 2 weeks to adjust and still his eyes were severely irritated and swollen from rubbing. I took my son in to have the prescription re-checked. Dr. Nimrit K. Nijjar said it was fine. He wore his glasses for another week and still nothing was better. I then took him elsewhere for a second opinion. I was horrified to learn that my son did not need corrective lenses and that his very minor issues will adjust on its own and in a few years it would have corrected itself. What upset me the most was to learn he now has a scar on his eye from the rubbing caused by weeks of irritation. During the month this was all happening, I was due for my exam with Dr. Nimrit K. Nijjar as well and this time it was suggested that I get bifocals, so that I could see my work computer clearer, however I have issues seeing far away, not close up which is what bifocals are for. I was a bit confused. I also started having issues and irritation with my vision and so I then went for a second opinion and lone behold, I again was given a bogus prescription and I did not even need bifocals. As many people know, bifocal lenses are very expensive. I was livid. I contacted Optiks to tell them the situation so they could rectify the problem and when I could drop the glasses off for them to adjust. I also asked for the blue tint to be removed while they're at it because it made my skin look horribly orange. The woman scoffed at me, told me that I would have to pay for new lenses and restocking fees, but they weren't willing to do so until I paid a $50 charge that was on my account for removing the blue tint on one of the two new pairs week or so prior (I couldn't afford to do both new pairs at once). Basically, they wanted me to pay for their screw up, and the woman I spoke to had a nasty entitled ignorant attitude. When I spoke to the manager, she told me that it was pretty much my fault and was unwilling to help me unless I pay for all the corrections even if I don't agree with the Dr's prescription. I couldn't believe that I paid over $1,000 just on my glasses and I couldn't even use them. I felt so helpless and frustrated that I couldn't help but cry. As a last ditch effort, I called the Sherwood park Optiks, explained my situation, and if there is any way they could help me or be the mediator in the situation. They were equally horrified by my experience and they (Chantal & Jeanette) was all over it. They asked me to come in and they were able send my glasses in to be fixed on a rush basis free of charge. They also gave me a very thoughtful gift because a grandparent had passed shortly before I went in. The Sherwood park location bent over backwards to fix the issues that WERE NOT THEIRS TO FIX! Chantal and Jeanette are absolutely amazing people and amazing professionals. I will not be going anywhere but the Sherwood park location going forward. Another positive note to add, my son recently went for a check up and he now has 20/20 as the second doctor guessed. Unfortunately, the scar will always be there and I am in the process of obtaining a medical opinion on the prognosis of the scar, if it will get worse, if he will need specialty lenses if he one day needs glasses, corrective surgery, etc. DO NOT GO HERE! You will pay one way or the other and treated like absolute garbage once they have your money.
