My fiancée and I were invited by a dear friend to join her at the Sunflower Resort. Her daughter is a manager and her husband works there too. We met a lot of nice people, ate delicious food while sitting button the expansive patio listening to a band called Sunset. The football games were playing on several big screens. The managers there are liars, they tell you one thing and do another. We were there few months ago and nothing but kids in the pool. This is obviously not a 55+ resort. Guest Service girl was nasty, we asked her a question and she was irritated every time we asked more questions. Her name was Santora. Don't go to her! We went in the office to file a complaint about the kids and was told if not to go in the pool then if we didn't want to be around kids. The manager Kenny walks around with a chip on his shoulder, we couldn't approach him. Will never return!! Bad experience overall read more

Not good at all. We had requested a pull thru because we did not want to take the car off just to spend 1 night. We were told a couple days before that they were doing work in the road there and we would not be about to park there so we would have to take our car off and do a back in space. These spaces are small. roadway narrow. They would not return of money either. Never again will I stay there or recommend. Terrible customer service. Had to pay for another night somewhere else. read more

Spring training to be near the Dodgers. Not a lot of options. If you are RVing you will be at the very end of the respite, which is predominantly full time manufactured homes. Well kept park. There are no toilet facilities in the RV park section. Lots of places to walk your dog. You can see abundant wildlife in the canyon. Tons of quail in the morning and early evening. Not a fantastic amenities-filled resort, but they have a nice restaurant, music and a tiki lounge. If Covid calms down and we can get back to Surprise for spring training this is where we will stay. Very centrally locates to ballparks, shops and restaurants. read more

Oh my god. The trash trucks are horrible. They come with a new trash bin, drop the new bin, pick up the old bin, drop the old bin, pick up the new bin, drop the new bin in the trash area, then pick up the old bin and leave. 1 1/2 hours of the trash truck running, Revving up, banging, revving up, banging. Absolutely no consideration. Twice in 4 days. The old people must take there their trash for something to do. My god, people are dropping off trash from 7:00am until 9:00pm (their bedtime I guess), it never ends. Trash lids banging, cars and golf carts literally lined up all day/ nightlong. Saturday, the trash company" broke the compactor. Hydraulic oil all over. 3 hours! Trash trucks, maintenance trucks, all running, you can't go outside because of the noise. What does the front desk say? "Oh well." This place could care less about the RV's. They care about the mobile home tenants, that's all. Poor water pressure, they put the RV's where the "pet walk" (I.E. dog pee and dog poop is) area. Every person in the mobile home park has 2 things. Trash and pets. I do not recommend for your own sanity and health. Poor customer service and poor RV area. read more

Love the resort. Friendly people there, the fact that they have a band every weekday is fun and gives you something to do if your not involved in one of their many activities. The only down side is they are a little pricey compared to ones that don't have all the amenities. Also the virus closed down all the activities but the price is the same. read more

We stayed here recently with several friends n were assigned spots by trash bins. Tenants from 1000 unit resort would come by from 6am to 10pm to drop off trash, house supplies, cardboard and every thing else. The smell n flies were ridiculous and noise. the elevator to the second floor of the facility has been out of service for three weeks and if you can't climb up the 23 step flight of stairs you can't go to music class, yogo class, some card games, art room, leather room, basket class, spanish class, the computer room, bulls &bears meetings, safe driving classes. you can't attend. i have literally crawled up the back stairs to the music room to conduct my music instrument classes and friday church choir rehearsals for three weeks and then had to rest in a chair to catch my breath for 15 min. plus my arthritic back hurt for the first hour of my 2 and a half hour class, and this week i'll have to sit up in the music room 2 hours until my choir rehearsals!! this is unacceptable. the elevator has bearly worked for about 3 years.!!! read more

Part of Can-Am Resort franchise so there are lots of amenities. This resort is for 55+. The club house is impressive, with green lawns, tennis and pickle ball courts all around, as well as pet agility course and views down the valley. For such a nice resort, driving around the place isn't inspiring because homes are much older than I would expect, and therefore doesn't give that consistent lux resort feel. Of note, these casitas are very small too so if you're looking for bigger homes, this resort isn't for you. read more

Went to this park with three other rv ers to reserve spots for winter 2015. When we mentioned that one of us has a service dog, the women at the front desk rolled her eyes at us. Then when she was asked "why the eye roll" she went and got a manager to assist us. All of us decided to get spots at Happy Trails instead. Why would a dog hater be working the front desk at a "pet friendly" park? They need to train this women to be a professional! We loved our stay there for the month of Jan a few years ago. There was so much to do and we never got bored one minute and we even set the alarm clock to make sure we didn't miss anything. The only problem was the internet service was spotty, but we figured out ways around that. The people are so friendly and Happy Hour at the Tiki bar rocked! Review based on four winter season stays, 2019 being the most recent: Absent the one issue outlined below, my rating would be five stars but the unresolved issue effects the park negatively. Very large well maintained RV/park-model style lots. More than 1,000 spaces on premise are relatively small, most neighbors are considerate and follow house rules. If you enjoy indulging hobby time, this is the place for you but be aware the price reflects hobby availability. There is quite a long list of well equipped hobby shops and most, I believe, have members who generously share skills with new members. Over our four winters we zeroed in on the silver and lapidary shop, very well equipped. Cal-Am provides generously. However, that shop has a few difficult older members who enjoy bullying/targeting others, mostly female members, making it less pleasant for all to the point some members feel the only way is to leave. Why management is unable or unwilling to get a handle on this issue certainly must impact whether residents decide to return the following year. Returnees really are the heart and soul of the place and have a lot to do with the success of it. We heard some other shops have similar unresolved issues. On site management seems to be trying with seemingly little change. Two large pools, wonderful entertainment regularly provided goes to prove those over 55 are still a rocking group! Outside of those horrid bullies we would return but it's just gotten to be too much; after all, retirement should be peaceful. I would encourage you to go but be aware of those issues and non-tolerant when it crop us. Enlist onsight management's help immediately! read more

Sunflower RV resort is the very nicest park we have ever been in. Attended a musical show there last night that was the most amazing performance. $20.00 for the show and a good meal. We had arrived at the first of June 2016 to this park, we were staying in our 5th wheel camper. We stayed until August 31st. It was fantastic that they had made arrangements with me over the phone clear from Iowa. Now about the management,Sally was very rude upon first contact and it had not gotten any better the remainder of the stay. We would receive our electric bill in excess of $450 each month on or about the 10th of each month so we pay it a couple of days later, to our camper we get a nasty note about paying the first of the month. We received a nasty comment about how noisy we were,but we were very quiet and kept to ourselves. We received a letter about our vehicles in the driveway and that we were parking on the road. We never did. We would take our dogs to the park and everyone was rude. Do not recommend this place. read more

This place is really a huge mobile home park (1,000+ lots) with one corner area (30 lots) reserved for short-term RV stays. The RV spaces are in the SAME corner as the dumpsters for the park! I can't believe the word "RV Resort" is even in the name of this place. Our space was #1125 with a perfect view of 7 dumpsters through our front and side windows. (Our originally assigned space #1120, which is further away from the dumpsters was occupied when we arrived, hence us being reassigned to #1125.) As a result, we got to listen to the trash being picked up by the trucks. We got to watch the residents swing by in their golf carts/cars and dump their trash. We got to watch residents rummage through the trash. We got to look at old mattresses and old furniture that was put alongside the dumpsters. Space #1123, 1124 and 1125 should NOT be rented out. No one should pay money for these spaces. I asked to speak with a manager when we checked out because we felt they should refund us a portion of the fee. The clerk told us the manager would be in the office on Monday. She wrote down my complaint and phone # to give to the manager. Three days went by without a call, so I called and left another message. Three more days and still no call, so I'm writing this review to let other RVers know. read more

The resort is fine, but I am writing this to warn of dishonest mobile home owners, who might not be reliable. I rented here for three months, giving the owner of the home a $200 deposit. I took great care of her home, space 18, as I do anyplace I live. She refuses to return the security deposit. The owner lives in Washington, so I can't just drop in at her house and demand payment. In e-mails, she makes up reasons completely out of our agreement, in justify stealing my deposit. So, my recommendation is to rent from the resort and not from an owner of a mobile home, in the park. read more

Nice park. Spots are set up nicely with a pad for a picnic table and to walk on. Pet area is small and there were a lot of pets. I did not like walking my girls over an area where so many dogs were relieving themselves and then having them and me walking back into our RV. I did not use any of the amenities but everything was nicely kept and it seems if you stay during peak times that there are many things going on and that Sunflower is a happening place. read more

(FYI - this is a 55 and over resort) This is our second year at Sunflower for the winter & baseball Spring Training. We're constantly greeted by friendly neighbors, guests, and staff. The pools had a beautiful facelift, the Tiki Bar now includes the pool and is open weekends during the winter & serves burgers/hotdogs and full dinners, and the Bistro underwent a beautiful redo to a short-order grill with yummy breakfasts, sandwiches, and salads. The exercise, laundry, showers, etc. are modern and well equipped for the traveler. The sewing, woodworking, billiards, card, & other rooms are also great & inviting, and often have other campers offering to help. I used their quality tennis, pickle ball, & shuffle board courts, horseshoe & bocci ball facilities, and a cute fenced dog park. I joined free classes (loved yoga & sewing classes), and danced to free daily entertainment! The use of almost everything in the resort is included. Love it! read more

This park is the best park we have ever been to in our 5 years of rv'ing. The park is immaculate, the on site restaurant and bar are amazing. Great entertainment every night with great food and great prices. So many things to do here. The management and staff make you feel like you are home. Love, love, love it here. read more
