We also enjoyed browsing the farm market and picking up some fresh local products before heading home. The cute farm theme and friendly atmosphere made for a fun and memorable outing. The only thing we would love to see added in the future is a small food and drink stand, as we could have easily spent a few more hours there. I asked whether I could bring my 15-year-old cat (because I did not want to leave him with a cat sitter). I received a response saying it would be "incredibly cruel," that my cat would likely be killed within a week, and that cats don't live much past 15. I immediately explained that I had contacted the wrong farm and was asking about an overnight stay elsewhere. I said that I regretted contacting this farm precisely because the language in the email reflected the language in the FAQ of the website, confirming my distaste. Despite this, I was then told, "I regret that you own a cat and you want to give it away" and that they would like to take my cat "to save it from you." This was extremely presumptuous and inappropriate. I was already put off by the condescending tone of the website FAQ, including the wording "Please don't feed your fingers to our animals." Unfortunately, my direct interaction reinforced that impression. I was offended by the morally superior and presumptuous response I received, and I told the sender of this email to go away. Regardless, Carma Farms kept emailing me toxic messages. I hope to god I never forget this exchange and accidentally visit these people at their farm. I'm very disturbed.

Everything is orderly and fresh. Going to buy all my veggies here from now on. RTBF also has a CSA program where vegetables can be delivered/picked up (curbside available) until early November. The portions and variety are amazing! We're so happy to have joined. Price was also very reasonable. Everything is always so fresh and tastes amazing. Our favourite are the cherry tomatoes. I have been eating them like candy! Some CSA items have been in our fridge for over a week and still looking fresh. A weekly letter is sent to give us ideas of what to make or maybe frozen for later. One of the perks of being in the CSA bin program is that admission to the farm is complimentary and we can come back anytime! Perfect if you have kids in the family. They also give you some veggies to feed the animals. Lots of parking. You can park on the grass if the gravel lot is full. Staff are very nice and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back soon!

It gets better every year here!…read more This year we enjoyed another great afternoon here while the weather continued this heat wave. Admission changed to $10 a person and the 10 or 20 lb bags with no premium prices. They added a new corn maze in a new spot, parking lots are centralised and a tractor will take you to the furthest hills for Gala & HoneyCrisp. The tractor runs often and there's lots of space to bring wagons and strollers. The farm obstacle run in next to a corn kernel play area, shielded by a converted silo. The kids had a blast in here! Digging with sand toys and lots of space to swim in the corn kernels. I'm sure all parents loved it wasn't dirty like sand but just corn dust. The cafe kiosk is next to the kids play area so one can enjoy hot cider($3), cider donuts or other pastries while the kids play. There lots of big old trees to give shade to take a break from this hot afternoon. Lots of portapotty around and wash sinks at the play area, parking lot and top of the picking hill. The corn maze is themed for Minecraft, so hay bales or wooden crates and painted and stacked for photo ops. Lots of pumpkins decorations and photo ops. There's a bouncy farm animal toy penned off for kids to bounce and ride on. Really creative idea and such fun watching them all looking like they're bucking broncos. More animals added onto the farm, llamas, sheep and these cute shaggy cattle. Tip: save your apple core or fallen apples from the picking orchard to feed the animals at the end, they really do appreciate it! It might be further for some but it's an easy, scenic afternoon drive. I love how it's busy but not crowded like the ones closer to Toronto.

2018 was a long year with a lot of work and not enough outdoor activity. I was looking for places…read moreto go on an outdoor hike with scenery and the West Humber Trail came up on my search results. As I was following the trail on Google Maps, I found that I could get on the trail from the Humber Arboretum. The arboretum is massive. It's well-kept with plenty of greenery mixed in with bright reds, yellows, and purples. There were a few groups taking wedding photos when I visited and I felt out of place in shorts and a tshirt. It's absolutely beautiful here and is a refreshing oasis from the surrounding concrete jungle. There are only 4 parking spots here, so if you visit please don't take up multiple spots. Due to poor parking skills of other visitors, I ended up driving to the Humberwood Library and walking back. The hike took me along the West Humber Trail, but I ended up getting a bit lost walking back to the arboretum. The trail is nicely paved and is well-suited for bicycles.
