I am really happy I found this studio and look forward to expanding my yoga and meditation practice with them.

I've done yoga in gyms before and thought I was baller... Come to find out I'm not as good as what…read moreI thought I was. So glad I came here. These instructors are very knowledgeable and helped me correct my poses so that I wouldn't continue to hurting myself. I was telling the instructor how I was getting such bad knee pain when ever in those warrior things. I was never told before that my knee was out of alignment and in a position that puts stress on the joints. Also that my front foot need to be straight and not angled. Once she put my knee in line over my foot going forward it was like an ah ha moment of holy crap there is no pain here. The point of this is to advise others not to wait till the end of class to speak up. I would have had a much better practice if I would have spoken up about this earlier.

OH MY GOODNESS. I've been going to Mallory for reiki for…read moreover a year. I started going once a month and now go to her every couple months. Each session is better than the next and today's session topped everything. I've struggled with physical and mental health issues for majority of my life and have experienced low lows in my life- I've heard of reiki before but since going to her- my journey of healing has excelled all thanks to Mallory. She is the brightest light and a well of knowledge and am beyond blessed to have such amazing experiences each session. I recently discovered this excellent studio while visiting relatives and would recommend it to…read moreanyone - all ages. I have been to many classes in many places, incl NYC, and StillPoint rates as one of the best. The teachers are knowledgable, attentive, challenging and patient. I attended classes with Kate and Delia. Both have a wonderful ability to adapt poses and flows to all levels and they offered insightful adjustments not only to me but to other students. They make the classes about being your best given where you are that day and with your practice. The broad range of students (women and men, young and senior) are longtime regulars and it shows - their practices are sound and committed. And, even though I was a new face, they made me feel very welcome - no judgment and no competition. Stillpoint will be my regular studio every time I am in the area and in fact I'll build some day trips around attending.

That other dojo said "sure we'll sign him up but chances are he will have problems keeping up". My husband said "they are just being honest". But I knew I couldn't sign up my son there and ruin his first interest in something other than youtube and videogames. There had to better place for my boy and that's when I found PA Isshinryu Karate & Self Defense(40 minutes away from me). When I went to sign up my son, they asked me a bunch of questions about what my son could do and what he was afraid to do and then they said they would do private lessons (no extra fee) with him until he was ready to join the group. PA Isshinryu Karate & Self Defense have not let me down! They have so much patience and work so hard with my son. They have the magic touch. My son is never frustrated. They know how to distract, adapt and keep the mood fun. Every week my son becomes stronger and more confident. I love everything about PA Isshinryu Karate and I'm sure others will too.

I've been taking pole classes at Flight Risk Aerials (at their new studio in Randolph) for about 5…read moremonths now, and I absolutely love it here! I took a few aerial and lyra classes as well and I was very impressed with those classes too. Every instructor here has their own style, which makes every class unique, educational and interesting. The classes are normally relatively small (3-12 people depending on the day), so you get lots of individual attention and feedback from the instructors as well as whole-class instruction. Oftentimes we have to share poles, but this means that you make a friendship with your pole mate, which is a huge part of the experience in my opinion. The ceiling is very high, so we have very tall poles which makes moves that involve climbing, inverts, descents, etc. a lot more possible. This is a relatively small studio so naturally you will have more advanced folks coming to intro class sometimes and vice versa. Whenever there are many people in the class of different levels (i.e. some beginners, some intermediates, etc) the instructors always do their best to accommodate everyone no matter their skill level. I look forward to the studio offering more advanced classes soon. I've made many great friends coming here, as it is an incredibly thriving, inclusive community. It's always a very supportive, body-positive environment in my experience. I will certainly continue to take classes here as long as I live in NJ. I'll never go to a run-of-the-mill gym again. If you get the monthly membership, you get your money's worth after just 7-8 classes, which if you go more than twice a week is definitely worth it. Would highly recommend Flight Risk Aerials to anyone looking to get into pole, aerials or lyra!

Where else can you take an aerial silks class around here?? I don't know but I'd be more than…read morewilling to go back here for some other classes as well. A girlfriend planned a bachelorette brunch that started off with aerial silks as an alternative to the traditional binge drinking night of bad decisions-I would have went either way but this was a refreshing idea. The owner set up a paypal payment method so that whoever wanted to sign up could and it took the pressure off of dealing with all of it the day of. We had about 20 people show up for this event--it was a really nice group of girls and the owner (i guess, and her assistant) were both very nice and accommodating. So I can't elaborate so much on the experience because I'm stupid and hurt my back a week ago, didn't even think of it because it started feeling better but when I attempted to get on the silks it was just a no-go for me. I should have asked for a credit for another class as I sat out the entire time but it is what it is no biggie. So the silks hang from the ceiling, they are secure and you won't fall out (if you follow directions). They take you through a variety of poses and movements and help you into position if you need. Be prepared there is a significant amount of pressure put on the body wherever you are hanging from, so when you start out on the lower back that's the pressure, if you get into other poses with the silk wrapped around your hips or legs, that's where the pressure is. You might get some silk burn or some slight bruises but it's not like someone's punching you it's just a pressure thing. I definitely want to go back and try belly dancing, they also have pole dance, and chair dance. If you're looking for something different give this place a go!
