I've been taking pole classes at Flight Risk Aerials (at their new studio in Randolph) for about 5 months now, and I absolutely love it here! I took a few aerial and lyra classes as well and I was very impressed with those classes too. Every instructor here has their own style, which makes every class unique, educational and interesting. The classes are normally relatively small (3-12 people depending on the day), so you get lots of individual attention and feedback from the instructors as well as whole-class instruction. Oftentimes we have to share poles, but this means that you make a friendship with your pole mate, which is a huge part of the experience in my opinion. The ceiling is very high, so we have very tall poles which makes moves that involve climbing, inverts, descents, etc. a lot more possible. This is a relatively small studio so naturally you will have more advanced folks coming to intro class sometimes and vice versa. Whenever there are many people in the class of different levels (i.e. some beginners, some intermediates, etc) the instructors always do their best to accommodate everyone no matter their skill level. I look forward to the studio offering more advanced classes soon. I've made many great friends coming here, as it is an incredibly thriving, inclusive community. It's always a very supportive, body-positive environment in my experience. I will certainly continue to take classes here as long as I live in NJ. I'll never go to a run-of-the-mill gym again. If you get the monthly membership, you get your money's worth after just 7-8 classes, which if you go more than twice a week is definitely worth it. Thank you for your response... it took awhile. I stand by my original review. Instead of trying to argue with me, you should take more time looking into my complaints. Doing so could only help improve your business. Your business is lovely, customer feedback should be appreciated because it will help make it even better. Notice you used the term "Almost Stolen", not me but we'll continue in that direction. Back to my complaints I had no idea what I needed, shorts, tights, shoes, sneakers, flip flops, so I over packed - THANK GOD!!!What the person that attempted to steal out of my bag didn't know is that they would have needed to empty out all of the things in my very large bag in order to get to my wallet. I am certain that someone outside of my group attempted to steal something out of my bag. My group was in the back room and people were walking back and forth past our belongings. There were other people in and out of your establishment during our session. So I don't know why it's so hard to understand the security issues. I was just warning your guest to be careful with their belongings. I don't see your issue with this. read more

Where else can you take an aerial silks class around here?? I don't know but I'd be more than willing to go back here for some other classes as well. A girlfriend planned a bachelorette brunch that started off with aerial silks as an alternative to the traditional binge drinking night of bad decisions-I would have went either way but this was a refreshing idea. The owner set up a paypal payment method so that whoever wanted to sign up could and it took the pressure off of dealing with all of it the day of. We had about 20 people show up for this event--it was a really nice group of girls and the owner (i guess, and her assistant) were both very nice and accommodating. So I can't elaborate so much on the experience because I'm stupid and hurt my back a week ago, didn't even think of it because it started feeling better but when I attempted to get on the silks it was just a no-go for me. I should have asked for a credit for another class as I sat out the entire time but it is what it is no biggie. So the silks hang from the ceiling, they are secure and you won't fall out (if you follow directions). They take you through a variety of poses and movements and help you into position if you need. Be prepared there is a significant amount of pressure put on the body wherever you are hanging from, so when you start out on the lower back that's the pressure, if you get into other poses with the silk wrapped around your hips or legs, that's where the pressure is. You might get some silk burn or some slight bruises but it's not like someone's punching you it's just a pressure thing. I definitely want to go back and try belly dancing, they also have pole dance, and chair dance. If you're looking for something different give this place a go! read more

I have been going to pole, lyra, and aerial silks classes for about a month. From the first class i was hooked. The instructors all have their own teaching style and are invested in helping students progress throughout class. Warm -ups have increased my flexibility closer to that which i had in collegiate sports. This is a great friendly studio with small classes, so you can really see your instructor and ask questions. They are patient and move at a speed where anyone can learn. After the first class, I bought a four pack! I would love to come more often if my schedule allows. read more

I have been researching various aerial classes since my studio in NY moved and reopened without their aerial hammock classes. First I'd like to say that 30 minutes to warm up, stretch and do strength training for these classes is NORMAL. To see reviews that complain about the length of warm-ups is completely ridiculous. That is how you get seriously injured and obviously have not been to any other studios. Second, I can't wait for my school year to be done so I am free to drive the hour to these classes. I'm coming from Queens NY. The prices are over 35 % lower than those in NY. If you would like to pay 75 dollars for a drop in rate, by all means take a train into the city....but in the interim, you might want to do your research before trashing someones business because you think you $20 dollars is to expensive. wayyy overpriced for what they offer. 20 bucks for an hour, which we dont even belly dance/pole dance or whatever for a whole hour, 35 mins of it was warming up they are unprofessional in the way they collect their money, a couple of times i could have slipped out without paying instructors seemed to be a bit amateur for the prices they ask for, bcuz the girl was reading off the notepad for the steps they need to hire someone to be at the desks answering phone calls & replying to their business emails, because no one ever does!! read more

I went to this place with a group of girls for a private Aerial Silks class about a year or so ago - the price for a private rental was extremely fair. The communication with staff was very good as Kim always answers my emails promptly and efficiently. I would honestly take classes more often if I didn't work or live more than 30 mins away - the instructors there are very patient, respectful and good at what they do. For those complaining it is too expensive, where else do you find a studio in the area that offers these kinds of classes? These are unique classes especially aerial silks and lyra where in the city they charge over $30. Can't wait to try out either the sampler class or hopefully book another event soon! read more

I have been taking the beginner silks classes at Flight Risk for just over a year now. I can honestly say I have never in my life met such a supportive, amazing group of people. I've taken class with Melissa, Kelley, and Maxine and all three of them are absolutely wonderful. They each have their own style and they always make me feel totally comfortable and safe no matter what crazy thing we are attempting. I am doing tricks that I never even dreamed my body was capable of! The other students in the classes are equally as supportive and helpful. I leave every week feeling accomplished and strong. We scheduled to have my best friend's bridal shower there and were very disappointed with the service. Instructor was very rude and asked us for the money in front of bride and guests (when I complained to the manager she told me they weren't informed $ was a sensitive issue! Is that really something you need to be informed about??????), To make matters worse, we had requested pole + chair dance class and the instructor was completely unprepared to teach the class and kept interrupting the class to find songs on YouTube. I don't know about regular classes, but I would never hold another event at this venue. Not worth the money. read more

I have to be honest, I've only been there for one class so far. I found their class schedule online and have only taken the intro/level 1 pole class. But I felt extremely comfortable and had a great time at the class. My instructor was jasmine and she went at a pace that I as a beginner and other people who have already taken many classes enjoyed and were able to not only keep up but learn new material. She was fun and easy going as were the girls who helped me sign in. I felt very welcome and have signed up for a package of 8 classes. Looking forward to more classes here! read more

So much fun! I am not graceful nor a dancer but Kim and her instructors helped whip me into the best shape of my life. I am shy but they were patient and encouraged me to keep practicing. I have tried belly dance, aerial silks and pole dancing. All of the instructors were warm and inviting and super helpful and accommodating. The experience was such fun I brought a friend once who had never been and I even booked her studio for another friend's bachelorette party. I have since moved out of the area, but if Wellness on the Green ever wants to expand with a second location I know just the place!!! This is such a nice studio in the middle of downtown Morristown. The windows overlook the green and gives the studio such a city vibe without having to travel to NYC. I've taken aerial class which makes you feel like your flying and really challenges your balance and upper body! I have also tried their pole dancing class which I was horrible at but the instructor was very helpful in making sure I had the best help. Very clean and nice decor. We came to this studio for a Pole dancing/Chair dancing lesson for my sister's bachelorette party. Upon entering the studio I figured out who the teacher was by process of elimination (she was the only one I didn't know in the studio). She stood often during the class with her arms crossed and quiet/standoff-ish. It almost seemed that we were annoying her. She didn't seem very excited about what she was teaching us or the class itself. Aside from her demos, there wasn't much direction on how to do the moves leaving a lot of us confused and asking her to repeatedly perform the moves for us. Often it felt we were trying to ask her to teach us as she was just hanging back with her arms crossed. it was a general conscensus amongst our group that the class left people from our group feeling confused, that the teacher was annoyed with us, or she just didn't like teaching. I contacted the studio and gave them feedback regarding our class and I was told that they had one of their students subbing our class, and that NONE of the instructors at their studio are licensed to teach any of their classes. This studio might be cheap, but its actually appropriately priced for the amateurs they have teaching here. read more

The owner Kim is amazingly friendly and accommodating. Though the studio was not what expected. The poles were low and not optimal to climb and invert for those looking to get height. The instructor Fran is horrendous. She teaches no technique nor moves. Acts as if this is her personal stage to grind and "show off" her sub standard moves. She is older and out of touch that she is in fact older. No one wants to watch an older woman grind on the floor. She took no time to teach how to spin nor explain the mechanics of it. She had her own agenda to do what she wanted. Learned nothing. If I had no prior experience I would probably never take a lesson again. The second hour for level 2 was a complete mess. She left the advanced students to play on their own and worked on pole sits with the newer girls. She apparently had a problem with my time "experience" time. I'm a newer student only 7 weeks or so. However I am in the studio for 2-3 hours a day taking privates and classes 3-4 times a week. I'm also in shape and an athlete. I know what I can handle. After I inverted into a position from the night before she told me to get off the pole before I hurt myself based on her experience. I was not even s foot off the floor and she said I can't do it- after I completed and dismounted off the pole.I train on spinning poles invert midair and can do more than her suggesting I do beginner things like learn the basics to climb. She wasn't even watching me. I left. I don't need to be told I can't do things because her students who are "advanced" cannot. If she teaches don't take it. She will not want you to try anything that may surpass her. Her seasoned students don't know basic poses after a year. A teacher encourages you. She was nasty clearly because i taught her student a move she didn't. The other teacher in class who teaches silks- she apparently reported as a class monitor to Fran that I was "going to hurt myself". No. Can't get hurt on cheap poles at such a low height. If I could give LESS than 1 star I would. Watch out for this place. They take only cash, give NO refund - even when their classes start late and end early and the instructor leaves the room every 2 1/2 minutes. Then they wouldn't even give me or any of the 10+ people I brought with me additional time or another class to attend. The owner, KIM, actually FOUGHT with me. POOR POOR customer service. Recently took INTRO to Aerial Silks...class does consists of about 20 minutes of stretching...which from what I have read below is normal....but I was a little taken back that there were NO MATS underneath us just for SOME safety purposes. Other websites for Aerial classes all show this. You do go upside down in the INTRO class and you are completely over hardwood floors AND the instructor does not spot you, in fact, the instructor (Rachel) was extremely timid and didn't seem to want to put her hands on you at all. Another HUGE distraction was that there were several girls who apparently were well advanced for the class and were talking the entire time and doing very advanced moves, as well as turning on music for some show they were going to be putting on. The instructor mentioned this has been an ongoing issue and has not been appropriately addressed. Could also use a floor cleaning considering you are on the floor at times and you're in your barefeet. Very dusty. read more
