I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. When i met with him for my consultation, I was honest & told him I was concerned about the negative reviews. I saw him today as a consultation for silicone breast explant surgery (en bloc). My silicone implants are making me sick (Breast Implant Illness). I am allergic to them & my allergist recommends they are removed. I was straight to the point with Dr. Farnworth. I explained that due to my rare conditions & complicated history I request a referral to a surgeon outside of the VA who has experience with explants. Dr. Farnworth is very direct & to the point. He may come off as abrasive because of that, but I communicate in a similar manner. He agreed to make a detailed referral to request that the VA send me to an outside surgeon. If the VA doesn't approve, Dr. Farnworth will do the explant. I thanked him for being kind & for the referral. I was impressed that he was willing to make a referral to another surgeon. Most VA Physicians make it difficult to get a referral outside of the VA. I was relieved that Dr. Farnworth didn't match the negative reviews here! Overall, it was a great appointment. I wouldn't discount his knowledge, experience & skills based on a couple negative reviews.

My issue is with billing. The billing and staff have been overcharging us since 2024, that I could locate. I identified the issue, and started making calls...in April 2026. I was advised that have a credit on my account, and they did not understand why I have been continually charged for the last several years. I requested a check be issued please for the credit amount. May of 2026, still nothing. Back I go to the phone calls...trying to get my $213 dollars refunded. Again, reassured they were "working on it". Then in June, I received a check for $34.12. Really? What the heck? Again to the phones I go, and interestingly enough, credit have been made to the card on file. One for $55 and one for $101.88. I was advised, all had been processed and they were all good. Now if you are mathing along with me, I am still owed $22. Here we are in July, and I just got an email with a link to gain access to a virtual MasterCard with my $22 on it. Not the re=payment I wanted, but at least it is correct. I am grateful to have this all finally sorted out, but so very frustrated, I do not think I will be returning to this office.

Based on this, I arranged childcare and planned my day accordingly. When I arrived, I was told the bloodwork had not been ordered and that the office preferred to wait until after the appointment in case additional labs were needed, to avoid a second trip. This was the opposite of what I had been told on the phone and ultimately resulted in the additional trip I was trying to avoid. Had I been told it was simply an oversight, I would have understood. Instead, it was framed as being for my convenience, despite the prior instructions I had received. I cancelled my appointment and will be looking for a new PCP. I hope the office can improve communication so patients receive consistent and accurate information. Edited to add: I am an established patient with this office. While it had been a few years since my last visit, I had previously been seen here and the office assisted me with updating my name. I wanted to clarify this because the response from the office suggests otherwise.
