Communication and leadership (especially middle school )also seem lacking, which can be frustrating for both parents and students. Additionally, I found interactions with certain staff members to be unprofessional. For example, the Greek class experience was not positive, as the tone often felt unapproachable rather than supportive. Overall, the environment did not feel as welcoming or supportive as I had hoped. Families may want to carefully consider the toxic environment yours kids will face (bullying environment between students and favoritism of teacher and staff)every day .

Union County schools are probably some of the best in the area. They do a decent job of balancing class sizes and recruiting good teaching talent. I also like the fact that all the Porter Ridge schools (elementary,middle and high) are all grouped together locally in the same 'campus' or general area.

We rest assured knowing our girls are well cared for, treated with compassion, kindness, and consistently receive the attention they need. I particularly appreciate the high standards they maintain for hiring staff. They do a great job keeping the parents involved, whether it's with the various family events throughout the year or communicating via email/app. They always make themselves available for you if you want to discuss something. The owners, directors, and all the teachers are all so caring, and truly wonderful. We especially want to recognize Mrs. Stephanie and Ms. Civa. Their exceptional teaching style, patience, and genuine kindness are remarkable. My daughters adore them, and they make learning so much fun!

This program has great enrichment and lessons affiliated to their daily schedule. They do a good balance of play, reading and learning, with regular art projects. I don't wonder much about what he's doing all day because they have curriculum guidelines daily that give us as parents some insight! The leadership team also nails it on using names of both us as parents and our little guy, which just gives a great familiar feel.

My two older girls attended Bruns Avenue Magnet (Year round and German programs) and moved with the program to Smith Language Academy. The location of Smith is just too far so we opted for Oaklawn. I have enjoyed the school because of the primarily small classroom sizes. The teachers tend to come and go, as I am sure they do at many other schools. We have also had three principals in her 7 years there. However, we are sticking with the program because the grass is not always greener on the other side.
