I took my granddaughter there with me for a special day together, as she is only 7, there kids massage chair was "not working" so she had to sit in adult chair, she couldnt reach her little legs far enough, so she had to sit at the end of the chair, i know her poor back was hurting, they never offered a pillow or discount , but sure was quick to ask me not once, not twice but 3 times if i wanted to get her nails done and gel nail polish which after the first no i dont have enough money, you would think they would shut up embarrassing people , as they finished the basic pedicure for me , she turned off my massage chair and said ty, i asked if i could finish my massage, she said no, people waiting ty, but during the pedicure she kept turning off the massage chair, that was the most worst experience i have ever had at any parlor!! This was the worst experience I have ever had in a nail salon. I got my nails done yesterday (4/29/2024), which are rough and uneven. I came in with real nails with SS on top of them. They were long, so I asked her to cut them down, and when she finished, they were butchered with sharp edges. I came in with rounded nails. When I told her that I did not want square nails, she said they were too short to be round...really!!! if I came in with round nails, then what on earth made you think I wanted jagged, sharp, square nails? Then she was rude, kept shaking her head, looking at her phone, pushing my hand, and hitting my skin with the drill. Again this was a terrible experience!!!! read more

He's excuse for her action is "she's having a bad day". Then expects you to come back and pay for the service. I am very happy with this nail salon. I've been coming here for about 3 years. I've tried other nail salons in Douglasville before becoming a consistent customer at Sun. I don't waste my time at the other salons anymore. This was my first time trying the ombre french manicure. I am more than pleased! I like the natural look on nails and when I get the French manicure but, the line between the tip of my nail and the nail bed starts showing when it's time for a nail fill service. I use to go here all the time but lately they haven't been doing a great job. There are only two people that do a great job. I went to get a French tip and the girl didn't know how to do it. Also, she couldnt do square shape nails and polish was messed up. This is the last time I will be getting my nails done there. I could tell she was new and she couldn't fix any mistakes. This place is one of the best nail salons I've been to. There was quite a bit of a wait to get serviced(especially on a Sunday) but it was worth it. I wanted a full set acrylic nails and a pedicure for my niece and I. The nail techs were very attentive and ensured that I liked my nails every step of the process. I'm honestly perplexed at how Sun Nails got so many five star ratings. I left the salon with the gift of an infected toe that I did not go there with. It wasn't all bad. I called in and got a same day appointment for my mom and myself. Normally when she visits from out of state we go to Serenity on Chapel Hill. We would have this time but after a day at the range we were really looking for massage chairs. When we arrived the gentleman at the front told us the techs were ready as soon as we picked our color but no rush...we were distracted from picking our colors due to the overwhelming smell of nail polish and antiseptic. We almost left but darn it we really wanted that massage! The massage chairs were great other than my moms wouldn't work right and the girl rather than moving the station told her to just keep pushing the button. My tech seemed to lose interest when I told her I simply wanted a classic pedi I wasn't looking to spend any extra on my first visit. My moms tech also seemed put off she didn't want any extras and pushed a little more but she perked up a little when she was able to charge $5 to do nail glue and dremmeling to fix one of my moms nails that had broken. My pedi was going great until the tech was trimming around my big toe and she must have pushed too deep or something. I sucked in my breath but she must not have heard or seen me curl my toe...there was no acknowledgement. I decided to let it go that maybe it just caught me funny and it seemed ok until the drive home when it was stinging. I woke up the following morning and it was infected. I work for a doctors office and luckily one of the nurses was nice enough to help me treat it because I will never set foot back in Sun Nails. When my tech finished my pedi she went to the row of chairs across from us took off her flip flops sat down and proceeded to play on her phone. She was not the only tech doing this. My moms tech answered a call on her cellphone in the middle of the pedi without an apology. The staff seems highly unprofessional compared to other salons. I don't know if the people who gave five star ratings are usual customers who they try harder to impress but we were not impressed at all. We will forego the massage chairs for the nicer atmosphere and better service at Serenity a Nail Bar & Spa on Chapel Hill Rd. as it was clearly a mistake to go somewhere new even though the Yelp reviews were higher. read more

I've been coming here for a few months now and the man who did my nails was ungodly rude was having an attitude because I wasn't moving my hand in the bag of acetone. I have imprints in my fingers from how hard he was holding my hands. He was very out of it as far as didn't want to be here. If you don't want to be at a job quit. EVERYWHERE is hiring. He wasn't even going to fix my nail that he messed up and he was more worried about the product being on the table and on his hands than actually doing my nails. I've been coming here for a little while now. Not every 2 weeks but at least once a month or so... and I've never experienced service like this. They definitely overbooked. However, that's not my concern... being that being busy is good for business. my concern is that there were people who came AFTER me who ended up in the chair... pedicure AND fills who didn't even have appointments. I brought a friend of mine and bragged and spoke so highly of this place and they literally treated me like I didn't even exist. Right in front of my face after I asked them over and over how much time... he told me 10/15 mins. My friend is almost done with her pedi and I'm still sitting here waiting. It's been 40 mins. When I asked the last time he said another 30 mins. If I see one more person go ahead of me ( unless they have an appointment) I am walking out!! They literally let a lady AND her husband get in a chair. And another lady that came after me with no appointment also is almost done with her full set. How is this a way to treat your customers. You have a sign in sheet for a reason!! This is crazy. And I'm so picky with my mail techs and salons. I loved this place but after today.... I may not return. It's more than just how the nails come out. It's the customer service and communication. And there's none here today. I was so mad when I saw the third person go before me after I asked again I almost cried. UPDATE: min in the chair 1 hour later. The woman doing my toes is apologizing over and over and now I feel bad so I gave another star. Disorganized and RUDE. Call to make an appt, they don't write anything down so when you walk in for your appointment you still have to wait 30 minutes (I've waited 45 for a tech i made an appt with, ridiculous.) They have no way of keeping track of appointment times and don't even tell the tech if they have one, just assign the next walk in to them. I have requested a tech and had them put another customer in front of me because she was in the building before me but requested the same tech AFTER I did. I was a regular customer (every 2 weeks faithfully) and I tip my techs FIFTEEN DOLLARS for a natural acrylic set with gel polish...lost a good customer after 2 years of coming there. All the good techs leave because of the unprofessionalism and disorganization. read more

I visited Sun Nails for a fill in on nails they had done 2 weeks prior. On the original visit, I mentioned to the nail tech the acrylic had air pockets and seemed slightly yellow. I asked that they be removed. He advised my nails are fine and I just need a fill in. Well, 2 weeks later as they drilled away the gel polish, my right index finger AND my left thumb had fungus underneath. I've been getting nails done for 15 years and never have I experienced this. This could have been avoided by simply doing the job right and not taking shortcuts. The tool used to remove my nails were placed right back in the drawer. Proper sanitation and infection control needs to be followed here. They also tried to tell me to Polish my nails. I decided not to have my nails polished or anything else done. They charged me $10 to remove my nails and gave me some Antifungal treatment which expired in 2013. I'm highly disappointed on how they handled this situation. read more

Enjoyed my first visit. Q was my tech and she did a wonderful job! There was a 25 min wait because they don't have enough techs. They use the plastic cover in their spa pool and I never saw them wash the pool out nor did I see them sterilize the cover that makes the water bubble, the lady emptied the water, put a clean bag in and screwed the cover back on. Lee has done my nails for about 2-3 years. I always make an appointment, however, Sun Nails (especially Lee) doesn't seem to honor appointments. I always arrive 5-15 minutes before my appointment and have to wait because he has taken a "walk in." I finally had enough when I was there 10 minutes before my appointment and he had just started on a walk in and gave me the same old excuse..."well you know, things happen." PLUS, he uses the same instruments on everyone and doesn't sterilize in between appointments and that has always been a concern for me. In addition, 3 days after my fill-in, the nails start lifting on the sides. I've talked to him a dozen times about this and he says it's because of different reasons, my medication or age. BS!
