Service: SNS Manicure; $45 This is a really simple place. No frills, but with a warm atmosphere. The owner greeted most customers by name and recognized who they were on the phone (down to what services they got and what colors they like!). Staff was friendly when I came in and seated me right away even though I was early for my appointment. The tech I was paired with wasn't good at powder nails. Maybe she's learning, maybe it's not just her Thing. She didn't cut my cuticles, she used the nail file to make my beds abrasive correctly but then buffed it so it was smooth again, she started the powder all the way at the nail bed instead of having the first layer only go ~80%, didn't wipe excess powder between coats, messed up a nail with her nails and just kinda...smoothed the stuff on top. She fixed that nail later, but it didn't do much. The end result was very thick and lumpy. Powder and polish were all over my fingers and she managed to miss parts of my nail. I had a job interview the next day I was going to cry. As I was leaving, I caught the owner outside and politely told her that I was really unhappy with what I had, but not to stress over it. She insisted I go inside and they make it right. I felt so anxious and awkward because I felt bad for the tech, but it was the right call. The original tech removed more of the excess from my nails. Then I was paired with Krystal, who is OUTSTANDING. She had just done a wonderful job on someone else and she took the time to make sure my nails were fixed. They ended up smooth, even, and pretty. Since the initial technique for the powder was not ideal, I'm not sure how long these will last (I usually get about a month out of these manicures). However, Krystal made it so much better. Instead of her correcting the issue at hand she went and got the tech who was suppose to do my nails in the first place and she had a terrible attitude and wanted to argue with me. She acted like I had done something when I had not and wanted to charge me more money. I requested that the tech that was suppose to do my nails do them and she did a "REALLY BAD JOB PURPOSELY" and filled my nails in extremely thick because of her terrible attitude and then when she completed the job she "CHARGED ME $5.90 more. When you are providing a service you have to have good public relations skills and give the customer what they want, not have a attitude, not care and do what you want. I'll barely switch it up and add a design for special occasions but for the most part I like a plain ombré with translucent glitter. The service at first wasn't the greatest but it was doable because I am particular and didn't want to have to look for a new nail salon. The service started getting worse and the nail techs would argue that what I wanted wouldn't look good. I like a clear base and they kept trying to talk me into a pink base which in my opinion doesn't look good and if I'm paying for a service I'm not going to walk around with a color I don't like. For me the last straw was when I brought my daughter with me to get our nails done for Christmas. I had made a reservation for both of us and they made her wait while they took other walk ins because I refused to have them out gel on my minor. I told them specifically due to her age regular nail polish is all we wanted. As we were finishing up one of the techs proceeded to give every customer in the salon a "Christmas gift" except me and my daughter. Which I thought was so rude. The place was very well organized, well ventilated, and bright. All the ladies there were extremely nice. The pedicure was really relaxing. They exfoliate your feet and the lower part of you leg. The female attendant that did my pedicure didn't do that great a job. My pedicure felt rushed. This was my second time using the same female attendant and the work was poor both times. I've had work done at this nail salon before always by male attendants and I always left extremely pleased. Consistency matters so I might have to try a new salon. The service isn't friendly. The workers aren't all nice. The salon has been updated and it's cleaner than it was before so that was a plus.
