The service was great. We were celebrating a couple of birthdays so our party is large (17 people)…read moreand put us in a side wall, somewhat private. They were attentive to our party. Let me tell you- if you order appetizers, eat 'em fast cuz the food comes out quickly!! We had the cream cheese wontons and spring rolls (on separate menu) good but wontons need more filling and it was not as thick as I am used to. Ambiance is casual and nice. The decor is unique and plenty of tables. The food. I ordered 2 dishes and my wife ordered her orange glazed chicken which it does have a kick to it but good. I ordered chicken lo mein and sweet walnut shrimp. Lo mein was delicious and plenty!! The shrimp was good but I didn't realize they were breaded and breading is my only complaint. Too much breading! I would return again and try other things.

I only tried the spicy wontons here but was not impressed. They are house-made which I always…read moreappreciate with dumplings, noodles and food in general but the filling was extremely skimpy. They were almost empty. The dough was pretty good but nothing to write home about and without much filling it just felt like dough. The sauce seemed like just the chilli crisp you get on the side of dumplings so it felt there just wasn't much to this dish with it also not having muhc filling. The serving size seemed small for the price. The plan was to have a full dinner also the Brown Sugar Rice Cakes (egg free and dairy free) for dessert but we decided to move on after trying the first dish. It's nice they have clearly labeled vegan options and the outside seating was nice but unfortunately we were not impressed. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

Needed an ice cold beer and I found it here!…read more Anyways, aside from the ice cold beer the fact that the food was delicious was a definite plus! We ordered the flauta plate with the homemade queso sauce and they truly hit the spot. The cheese is scrumptious. The flautas were freshly made and had the perfect amount of crunch and meat filling. Yum yum. Now, my absolute favorite food item that we ordered was the Tripas Tacos, they were not overly fried to were they are too crunchy or undercooked and gummy. They were perfect and ohhh soo good! The salsa and chips were very good also. The salsa was flavorful but VERY SPICY, I couldn't stop eating it although my whole mouth was on fire! If you don't eat spicy food BEWARE! As far as service goes, our waitress was friendly and greeted us with a smile. She gave us a few item recommendations once we told her it was our first time eating there. Everything she recommended was on point. The atmosphere was ok, it was a relaxed and quiet, granted there were only two other customers when I visited. This place is a hidden gem, nestled inside a small neighborhood and next to a school. If it wasn't for Yelp I wouldn't have known this place existed even though it's been here for 50 years! Definitely give this place a try and enjoy a small piece of El Paso history.
