This laundromat is a bachelor's dream. The place I went to in my old neighborhood charged less per lb., but they did a crappy job. Yeah, my laziness won out at that price, but by comparison I still find the job they do here to be worth the 95 cents a pound they charge. The clothes come back perfectly clean, smelling great and impeccably folded. Even button down shirts are incrementally buttoned and folded so well that if I hang them up as soon as I get home, I don't even have to iron them (except in the case of very formal, starched-crease occasions). It's such a relief to be able to get that chore out of the way with minimal effort on my part. I don't mind doing dishes or vacuuming, and I love to cook. But I'd rather nail my scrote to a table than do laundry and ironing.
The husband and wife proprietors are exceedingly friendly and very proficient in English. If I have a handful of whites, they allow me to put them in a separate bag and then put that bag into the larger bag when they weigh it, which I think saves me a little money, though they do wash the whites separately and with bleach. Bedding is priced differently, but I didn't know that the first time and when I brought it I was charged for regular laundry and they let me off with a warning because they didn't notice until I had already left. They are such a nice, obliging couple! Saturday is their least crowded day because of the Jewish sabbath. Their hours are from 7:30a -- 7:30 pm every day. However, in my experience, that's a very loose 7:30 a.m. I'm up early and have found myself waiting a while for them to open on multiple occasions. The turnover is quick, although I usually opt to drop off in the afternoons and pick up 24 hours later so I can't say how fast the minimum would be if you were really in a rush. read more
