Scam Alert: Avoid Sun Dental at All Costs I had the misfortune of interviewing at Sun Dental, located at 1370 W Meeting St, Lancaster, SC, and I feel compelled to share my experience so that no one else makes the same mistake I did. First off, I was shocked by the conversation I had with the practice's owner, Dr. Pooja. She couldn't even look me in the eye during the interview, which already gave me bad vibes, but that was just the beginning. When we discussed compensation, I was told that $20,000 meant nothing in the dental industry. Apparently, Sun Dental has so much money, they throw it around like it's nothing. However, when I asked for a reasonable wage, I was hit with the ridiculous excuse that a higher pay rate would "upset the younger employees," most of whom are fresh out of high school. They actually said my pay would be determined by how others felt about it. What?! And let's talk about the so-called "incentive program." Apparently, if you work hard enough, you can earn little fake coins that are kept in a desk to exchange for "prizes." I'm not even sure what these "prizes" are, but it's clear they're just a way to pacify employees while doing nothing to actually support them. But that's not all. When I didn't hear back from them after standing firm about a reasonable wage, I followed up a week later. They gave me the nonsense excuse that my "core values didn't align" with theirs. Translation: they don't want anyone who can think critically or stand up for themselves. To top it all off, I learned that Sun Dental has a history of shoddy work and poor financials--to the tune of $200,000 in accidents involving paperwork errors. This company is unprofessional, dishonest, and seems more interested in exploiting weak-minded people than actually running a respectable business. In summary, Sun Dental is a complete scam. They expect employees to do the work of multiple positions, while offering no benefits, paying unlivable wages, and creating a toxic work environment.
