On May 04, 2026, we took an injured duck (had probably flown into a vehicle - could still walk a…read morebit though clearly injured - in Mesa) to Fallen Feathers. This was after we tried taking the duck to Liberty Wildlife (found out when we got there that they do not take ducks.) Liberty Wildlife gave us other resources (we called the vets on the list and they all said they would just euthanize the duck) and we contacted Fallen Feathers. Someone responded in a text that they could not come to the phone but to bring the duck to their address in Peoria. So we did. Upon arrival, we found all of the outdoor cages to be filthy and most were filled with various sorts of birds. Few of the birds had any water or food and the cages were in the May heat of AZ. Some birds were in boxes on the ground with no protection and one bird was actually deceased. We were very stressed about what to do. We tried contacting the owner again by phone to no avail. We left a donation and, with heavy hearts, we left the duck in a cage. On May 05 and May 07, 2026, we sent the owner a text asking for an update on the duck. No response. Bottom line, Fallen Feathers should probably be investigated for animal neglect (at a minimum) and if they are a 501.C.3, that agency should investigate them as well. As a final note, though it would have been hard, it probably would have been best for the duck to had have us take it to our vet to be euthanized. We will never recommend Fallen Feathers under any circumstances.

Other than trying to pick up the little guy, Fallen Feathers had you covered. Clear signage for what to do. They had the cage all ready for drop off, even gloves if you needed. I had my own but had a sweet Dove. Ive never done this before but felt confident they will take care of my new found feathered friend. I dont know if they will keep me posted but sure hope this little guy has a quick recovery and long life after all my effort. Someone pulled in after i left so im sure he wasnt out in that heat long. For Those below that said it looked abandoned and messy that may not be the owners fault. The website clearly states to be respectful of the owners property and I really feel people left crap behind. if you leave a box with bird droppings and things behind the next person that follows is going to think it's the owner. that's not necessarily the case. Again, this website clearly states be respectful of the owners property. The website also states to text the person to let them know the bird is there, so thankfully, a girl showed up and was able to text to advise there was a bird drop off For both of us . When we got there, it was fine. I thought it was find. I dont think we should be so hard on these people who are trying to protect and save these birds. They might not have time to always get out and clean it every five minutes, so give them some grace people.

We adopted a cat from them at Petco at Metro Center, when I questioned the " we can not guarantee…read morethe animals health" part of their contract the woman told me don't worry shes healthy but Petco makes us put that on there if we wanted to adopt her we had to agre to it, ok great filled it out and took kitty home. Less than 36 hours later we found a mass onm the kittys jaw line. I tried calling the number on the adoption paperwork but of course it was no good, I called to talk to the woman at petco who told me I had to take kitty to their vet in scottsdale and the only contact was through email. And accused me of not paying the adoption fee and told me I had to come to petco and pay it..Nope..not putting my banking information in your phone. I checked paypal and they hadn't accepted the payment I made, so When given the correct information I resubmitted the payment immediately and PayPal verified that it has been accepted. I have emails spanning 5 days of Dawn Cavanaugh claiming kitty is healthy , even after she was diagnosed with Stomatosis and the vet recommended a biopsy of the mass on her jawline and FIV/Feline Leukemia testing. I made very clear throughout the email communications that I expected my monies refunded as the kitty is not healthy and of course when we returned her to the rescue I was accused of not paying the adoption fee and dishonesty. And I'm not getting a refund. I am communicating with Petco Cares and Paypal about this but beware !!

We adopted our first from them about 5 years ago and have adopted quite a few more since then. Everyone with the rescue has always been super helpful about matching us with the cat that is the right fit for our family and they have always been super responsive about getting back to us about any follow up questions we have had such as how to integrate a high energy Bengal kitten into our family of mellow older cats. Our fur babies are happy and healthy and All About Animals has become our rescue of choice each time we decide to expand our 4 legged family.

They take time to get to know the adopters, make sure they are a good fit. As well as, tour your the home and check for safety concerns. Most people don't know what they are getting into with a German Shepherd, so they make sure you understand. Tank ate some drywall at the rescue the night before we took him home. They said if we had any issues let them know. He ended up getting gastritis and was vomiting and had diarrhea. They told us go to urgent care & were there the whole way supporting us. They even took care of the $1300 urgent care bill, knowing he was being a German shepherd puppy and chew stuff. God bless this rescue & all the people that help to make it successful! When GSD's need help, they are there!

In November of 2016 my boyfriend and I decided to wander into Sun Valley looking for another cat to…read moreadd to our otherwise quiet home. The place is clean, well-maintained and when we walked in were greeted kindly and asked to sign in before being directed back to the cat room - everyone greeted us with a smile on their face and in the FOUR TIMES I came back within the next month not one of those times did it change! Each time we went we spent about an hour in the cat room getting to know the cats. We had chosen a cat after the first session but knowing she had been at the shelter for some time wanted to come back to make sure she was the right fit. After 3 other times of coming to see her we adopted Calista. We filled out an adoption application, got an interview with a counselor, showed documentation that our condo allowed us to have another cat and while many people feel like this may all be excessive it's because they genuinely care about the health and well being of these animals. Having an animal is a life long commitment and the staff and volunteers understand that and want to make sure everyone else does too. I couldn't be happier, Calista ended up being the perfect cat for our household and fit in with our other cat as if they were a bonded pair. The amount of love and care the staff gives to these animals is admirable and if you're truly committed to finding your furrever friend then Sun Valley is the way to go!

It was a total hassle, horrible communication. And when we went to visit them before the adoption we were accosted by children at some sort of birthday party. The cats were STRESSED. WE WERE STRESSED. They scheduled our meeting with a birthday party for some young kids who were just flicking cat toys in our face and all the cats faces and running around so we couldn't interact like we would have hoped too. When we went to pick the boys up finally( 2 brothers who we were told wereNOT bonded but absolutely were.. thank goodness we took both)(..There was some sort of 'date' event going on and I had people swarming me constantly while I was trying to connect and CATCH the kitties we were taking home. It was a disaster. The price to adopt both was a Little outrageous as well considering you could tell they were fighting for food.... I appreciate what this woman is doing and please please adopt and don't shop, but be ready to spend some money and be frustrated trying to adopt.... Or even get a coffee from this cat 'CAFE'

Across interactions with three different staff members, the story kept changing: first, we were told someone else might adopt him; next, that he was located at a different facility; and finally, that he had just been adopted out. All the while, he was still advertised for adoption on their physical board and website.Inconsistent pricing: Staff then directed us toward other Siamese cats. Over the phone, I was told the $325 adoption fee only applied to kittens under five months, yet they attempted to charge us $325 for a six-month-old cat.The staff demonstrated a complete lack of accountability and empathy for my family. This organization is not transparent, and their practices are misleading.
