Top notch cat rescue. They take in a lot of cats and is clearly a no kill rescue, they go above and beyond.

I wish I knew it was a cat only shelter but it did not specify in their maps description.

They couldn't help me in my desperate situation with surrendering my 2 cats before December 5. Was told they have an 8-10 week waiting list.

Less than 36 hours later we found a mass onm the kittys jaw line. I tried calling the number on the adoption paperwork but of course it was no good, I called to talk to the woman at petco who told me I had to take kitty to their vet in scottsdale and the only contact was through email. And accused me of not paying the adoption fee and told me I had to come to petco and pay it..Nope..not putting my banking information in your phone. I checked paypal and they hadn't accepted the payment I made, so When given the correct information I resubmitted the payment immediately and PayPal verified that it has been accepted. I have emails spanning 5 days of Dawn Cavanaugh claiming kitty is healthy , even after she was diagnosed with Stomatosis and the vet recommended a biopsy of the mass on her jawline and FIV/Feline Leukemia testing. I made very clear throughout the email communications that I expected my monies refunded as the kitty is not healthy and of course when we returned her to the rescue I was accused of not paying the adoption fee and dishonesty. And I'm not getting a refund. I am communicating with Petco Cares and Paypal about this but beware !!

We adopted our first from them about 5 years ago and have adopted quite a few more since then. Everyone with the rescue has always been super helpful about matching us with the cat that is the right fit for our family and they have always been super responsive about getting back to us about any follow up questions we have had such as how to integrate a high energy Bengal kitten into our family of mellow older cats. Our fur babies are happy and healthy and All About Animals has become our rescue of choice each time we decide to expand our 4 legged family.

Kristie helped us get this under control, so we can now have an enjoyable walking experience with our dog. While we were working on this, Kristie also helped us with some basic command refinements with all 3 of our dogs. Kristie is clear in her instructions to the humans and is patient with answering questions and modeling how to give commands and corrections. For dog sitting, in our home, we've used Michelle several times now and she is great. Our 3 dogs love her and she clearly loves them too. We have 2 Great Danes and Beagle/Boston Terrier mix who are getting up there in age. Our male Great Dane has a number of health issues and Michelle handles it all so well. There's a laundry list of medications for the dogs and she does a great job keeping up with it all. She doesn't mind when I'm that helicopter dog mom and I check too often on my sick boy. Regardless of his illness, Michelle sends many pictures and text updates on how things are going with all the dogs. As a very protective momma, I trust Michelle completely with my furbabies and home. We love having Michelle take care of our babies... so much so that when we were planning the August trip we just completed, she wasn't available on our original dates, so we moved our trip to make sure she was available. I appreciate the freedom Kristie and Michelle offer us to get away several times a year. I completely trust them. Give them a shot!

She's been great and I was so impressed with the experience I had with this rescue that I started volunteering there. The rescue takes in mostly German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois from puppies to seniors and from various backgrounds - strays, owner surrenders, from other shelters (some on the e-list), medical hardships, etc. Once under SPRA care the dogs are well fed, are walked and/or get play time outside of their kennels 4 times a day, receive medical care if needed, etc. The volunteers and staff also work with the dogs on socialization and basic training. It's also important to know that SPRA is a no kill shelter. Bottom line, if you're looking for a German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois please check out Saving Paws Rescue Arizona. They have so many wonderful dogs looking for a family like my pup pictured below, adopt don't shop.

I adopted a dog from West Valley Animal Rescue and, during the adoption process, I repeatedly asked whether he had any current symptoms or potential near-future medical needs. I was very clear that I needed full transparency before committing. Within hours of bringing him home, the poor little guy was unable to have a bowel movement. I immediately contacted the rescue and was assured multiple times that he had no issues while in their care. This went on for an entire week until I could get him into a veterinarian. The vet diagnosed him with a perineal hernia and told me there was no way this condition would have gone unnoticed. Meanwhile, I have text messages from the rescue stating he was completely fine in their care (photos attached). When I asked if they would help cover the surgery -- which is estimated at $6,844.07 -- their response was that I could return him for a refund and they would "provide the medical attention he requires." To me, that translates to refunding my adoption fee and taking him back, with no real assurance of what would actually happen next. It's heartbreaking. I will be paying for his surgery myself because there is absolutely no way I'm returning him. He deserves proper care and stability. I'm sharing this so others can make fully informed decisions and ask the right questions before adopting.

I don't recall much of the first ten months of my life, but around that time I was dropped off at Sun Cities 4 Paws Cat Rescue at the Youngtown Adoption Center (11129 W. Michigan Ave., Ste. 1, Youngtown, AZ 85363). Which was about 14 years ago, give or take a day. I'm sharing my story because, at that time, I was on what you might call death row. Four Paws could not claim to be a no-kill shelter, and my time was running out. Just days before I was scheduled to be euthanized, a beautiful woman looked at me, and we had an immediate connection. Her name was Kathy. She had the biggest brown eyes and the kindest smile I had ever seen. And she chose me, and at that moment, I felt incredibly lucky. They couldn't let her take me home right away. As I needed my shots and had to be spayed, which meant waiting a few days. Those were the longest three days of both our lives. You see, when an animal is scheduled for euthanasia, they don't receive those things like shots ahead of time because they aren't sure if you will even be adopted. I was one of the lucky ones at that time. Fast forward, the last 14 years of my life were and have been incredible. I was given a home full of love and kindness. I never went hungry, not one day, never wet, or cold. Always had a clean restroom, countless places to sleep, my own bed, any chair or couch I wanted, along with their bed too, where a special blanket was laid out just for me every single day. My story with Kathy and Gaylan, here on Earth, came to an end on Saturday, January 10, 2026. I know their hearts are heavy, and they miss me very much, as I miss them. We loved, laughed, and cried together. We are believers in God, and we know we have a good God, and one who would never keep us apart in heaven. So, my challenge to you as a Prospective Parent(s), is this: Find that connection, Adopt, and Love each other the way we Loved each other. MEA
