We adopted a cat from them at Petco at Metro Center, when I questioned the " we can not guarantee the animals health" part of their contract the woman told me don't worry shes healthy but Petco makes us put that on there if we wanted to adopt her we had to agre to it, ok great filled it out and took kitty home. Less than 36 hours later we found a mass onm the kittys jaw line. I tried calling the number on the adoption paperwork but of course it was no good, I called to talk to the woman at petco who told me I had to take kitty to their vet in scottsdale and the only contact was through email. And accused me of not paying the adoption fee and told me I had to come to petco and pay it..Nope..not putting my banking information in your phone. I checked paypal and they hadn't accepted the payment I made, so When given the correct information I resubmitted the payment immediately and PayPal verified that it has been accepted. I have emails spanning 5 days of Dawn Cavanaugh claiming kitty is healthy , even after she was diagnosed with Stomatosis and the vet recommended a biopsy of the mass on her jawline and FIV/Feline Leukemia testing. I made very clear throughout the email communications that I expected my monies refunded as the kitty is not healthy and of course when we returned her to the rescue I was accused of not paying the adoption fee and dishonesty. And I'm not getting a refund. I am communicating with Petco Cares and Paypal about this but beware !! read more

I came on here to rave about my adoption experience with All About Animals and found myself surprised by some of the less than positive reviews that I read because we have had nothing but an amazing experience each time we have adopted from Them. We adopted our first from them about 5 years ago and have adopted quite a few more since then. Everyone with the rescue has always been super helpful about matching us with the cat that is the right fit for our family and they have always been super responsive about getting back to us about any follow up questions we have had such as how to integrate a high energy Bengal kitten into our family of mellow older cats. When I heard about this rescue I was thrilled. I was told that there were a bunch of cats who needed forever homes and love. My boyfriend and I showed up to adopt a cat (hopefully) and immediately was uncomfortable. The rescue was messy, unorganized, and so many cats walking around and transferring diseases they may have. The people there were in a way pressuring us to adopt a cat and if not one, two. We (my boyfriend and I) ended up adopting a kitten, he was 6months old. Not even a 2 weeks later his rectum was bleeding so then we brought him to Quail Crossing and the vet did not run any tests they just gave us medicine. Then a few weeks later he became lethargic, no longer eating, playing, and he started hiding. Turns out after further blood work he had severe pancreatitis. He needed hospitalization and possibly a blood transfusion. I got into contact with Dawn because I assumed as a non-profit they'd be compassionate to new owners and their fur babies. Turns out I was wrong. (below I have placed images of emails between Dawn and me, people need to know our story with this rescue.) Dawn told me she would send someone by to pick him up and treat him because I told her I was unable to afford this sick of a kitten and she made it seem like they were going to help us and treat him for free since he was nothing but sick since we got him. I told her we were going to surrender him to a humane society because I did not trust them taking him back, but they did. She said we are going to treat this kitten, no talk about costs or putting down an animal or surrendering him. They ended up checking him in at Quail Crossing animal hospital (the one they are partnered with) and the vet said we couldn't pick him up because he was checked in under them when he was registered to us. The vet then told me I need to call Dawn and figure it out the lady didn't want to be involved in the drama. This rescue is terrible and I do not recommend it if I could give no stars I would because one is too good for this rescue. Now I have no idea how he is doing and most likely never will. We did get a full refund but it doesn't level out to them stealing our cat. I hope this rescue gets shut down and that these cats go to a better rescue. *I would also like to add the things blocked out is my personal information. (number, email address, and home address.) I would give this rescue - negative stars if I could. I purchased a pair of brother Siamese 9 month old cats from petco which is ran by this rescue and paid 700.00 for both one month ago. One cat was showing severe signs of illness. I took him to the vet in Scottsdale that they partner with for the "free" health exam and was told he has FIP which is fatal to cats. I was provided with Dawn's as well as Michelle's contact phone number from vet for further assistance. The veterinarian adv me that the rescue should take the sick cat back and provide treatment. I called both Dawn and Michelle several times with voicemails attached. No response. I received an email from them stating they do not provide medical treatment for FIP. I asked if they would reimburse for one cat 350.00 since I adopted him sick and it's fatal or even replaced with another companion cat for my healthy siamese. No response. They should have offered to pay for the euthanization that I had to pay out of pocket as well. Please do NOT ADPOT or Donate to this organization!!!! They HAVE ZERO COMPASSION. Now I have to explain to my 5 year old as well as twin 3 year olds what heaven is, and why their kitty is not coming home. read more

I would avoid this rescue. They are dishonest. They advertise highly desirables and when you respond they tell you they have been adopted it that they aren't available til a later date. The whole purpose if putting your pet online is to find them a home so, why would you do so just to say that they will not be considering anyone til after a certain date. Then coming back and saying said pet has been adopted the same day. And now today the page with the pet has been updated with more information. I'm not crazy. I have 3 rescued dogs now and I have been approved at 5 different places. I too came here to rave about this rescue! After reading a few of the negative comments I'm sorry to hear about some of the misinformation that is being put out there. In my experience with AAA, they truly care about the well being of the "rescues" they adopt out. Keep in mind that these kitten/cats are rescued and one can never guarantee the health of any animal. So with that said I know we have all experienced our loss of a loved and cherished pet to nobody's fault but fate. My experiences with AAA have been all positive and I truly admire AAA for all they do as well as all the other rescues out there trying to make a difference. We adopted our cats (sisters) 8 years ago and had a wonderful experience working with the owner of the rescue, the volunteers and our cat's foster family. I was so impressed with the organization that I even volunteered and fostered a few cats. After having kids and traveling we couldn't continue to commit our time for fostering but have keep in contact with the rescue and specifically Lisa, our cats foster "Mom".
