I took my dogs to see Jen today for labs so she can have some dental work done. I've talked to several different places in regards to my dog's teeth cleaning. She has stage three periodontal disease and needs a lot of treatment which can be very costly. After speaking with Jen, she has comforted me and assured me that her dental bill is never more than $500 but because of my dogs age she had to have labs drawn today. I met Jen in person today and I can tell you that I already trust her! I will definitely update after my dog has her teeth cleaning but we need to wait for labs to come back first. I have 4 dogs. All 4 go for their dentals there. Jen is the easiest to get dentals scheduled and the prices can't be beat!

We have taken our pug here twice for dentals. Each time, we've had a great and safe experience! This time, he ended up having two bad teeth removed and there was an infection found. So thankful we took him in when we did! They sent us home with pain meds, antibiotics and care instructions. We are five days out, and our pug is doing so well. The owner Jen drives down from Oregon to host these low cost clinics about once a month. Yes, she is hard to get ahold of- probably because there are tons of people trying to book and it's just her running this. Yes, you may not get an immediate response on text. When your pet is in their care, they are safe, caring, competent and professional. I completely trust Little Rascals. A $250 dental with full sedation is incredible and a service to the community. With two teeth pulled plus meds, we paid $350 total. Little Rascals puts comfort and health into reach for pets who would otherwise not have access to care. I am so thankful for Jen and her team. If you want an amazing dog, adopt one from this rescue! I adopted one a couple years back and was amazed at the demeanor and behavior of our new family member. I was so impressed that I decided to give it another shot. We got a second dog from Little Rascals and found the same to be true for this one as well! I visited the boarding facility and saw the amount if love that Toni gives to her guests. She is a class act and I have nothing but great things to say about her and the rescue. i have been taking my dogs to jen for a couple of years and i have had nothing but pleasant experiences, they are attentive and always answer all my questions called the day after to see if everything is okay. we have had teeth pulled, neutering and spayed, shots, microchlps, and a tumor. i trust them with my babies. i don't usually write reviews but i needed to after i read the negative ones i read. take it from me they are fantastic. it's not a fancy setup it's a mobile vet and if that makes you uncomfortable then i suggest going to a vet and pay at least 3times the amount. read more

Id like to write a review about what happened to my dog. I had spoken to Jen by text and by phone. My little chihuahua Mitsy was suppose to get a dental cleaning. I was still deciding if I wanted to get a spay. When we dropped her off at around 10:45 on Monday May 18th I filled out paper work that authorized a dental cleaning and nothing more. They called me later in the day saying they spayed her and were about to work on her teeth. I was in shock. She wasn't there for that and I didn't want to put her tiny body under so much at once. They said they mixed her up with another chihuahua named Missy. They waived the spay cost as they should since she wasn't there for that. She had 8 teeth pulled and very out of it when we got her back. They said they would microchip her for free but called after we already got home saying they forgot to put the microchip in and we could come back. I dont live close. So I didn't do that. The next day Mitsy had dark red bruising on her abdomen. I panicked and messaged Jen who said thats a lot of brising and to bring her in. I was working and didn't feel comfortable taking her back there. I took her to banfield who was concerned about her brusising but said their doctors were all in surgery and to take her to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital. I rushed her there and spent nearly all day waiting for them to figure things out. The doctor said her clotting factors are good but her platelets are low from the dental and surgery. Its been a week and she still has bruising. This could have been avoided. She didn't have to go through all this. Spaying is good for your dog yes but I didnt want to put her through all this at once. I feel like this was done rough to have this amount of bruising. After this I cant trust these clinics. Their organization and communication needs work. Im sure things have worked out for others but this was a horrible experience for myself and my tiny baby. In one setting she got her teeth cleaned, 8 teeth pulled and an unauthorized spay. read more

I was having a problem with my pit bull and I needed to bring it back to the rescue. The large breed coordinator, Toni, was extremely harsh to me and degraded my character as a pet owner and then, actually recommended that I have the dog put down. She even went so far as to provide me with a phone number to a veterinarians office where I could have my dog put down. Coming from a "no-kill" rescue, I was appalled that their coordinator would actually suggest such a thing, especially after taking the time to personally tear me down and degrade my character as a dog owner over the phone. Completely unprofessional. It is challenging enough of a time to ultimately come to the decision to return my beloved dog to the "rescue" but then to be treated this way was just completely unacceptable. What makes these "rescues" think that they can treat people in such a way? I will escalate the matter higher through the organization but thought others might benefit by NOT going to this rescue. I had a very similar negative horrible experience as prior reviewer "Rudy S." in the past couple months ago..."...especially after taking the time to personally tear me down and degrade my character as a dog owner over the phone. Completely unprofessional.It is challenging enough of a time to ultimately come to the decision to return my beloved dog to the "rescue" but then to be treated this way was just completely unacceptable. What makes these "rescues" think that they can treat people in such a way?" I literally have not run into such a more degrading horrible human being as unpleasant and rude as Toni. We were misled and not given the full true facts regarding the background and home environment of the dog we had adopted, and ended up needing to give the dog back due to aggression and unfriendliness towards our other dogs. Toni not only made this the most unpleasant experience since giving back a dog is emotional enough, but she also degraded our characters as pet owners. She claimed we were liars since she "has not even seen this dog bark", let alone have aggression. We tried to inform her for the sake of the dog our observations to help her with future adoption so the dog would get the best loving forever home, but she is so closed off and not understanding. And the "partial" refund back within the 10 days allowed to see if a dog works out was $50 out of the $200 (which Toni insisted she didn't have to give back ANYTHING due to us giving back a dog, so we should feel lucky she's being nice to give us anything at all...when it's clearly stated a partial refund is given in the contract.) She is not to be trusted...when it was not in the best interest of the dog to stay with us, she would not be flexible to meet for the health of the dog to be returned back...she insisted she was sure "it's not like we are abusing the dog." She obviously is in it for the money and definitely not for the sake and health of the dogs. We wanted to check back and make sure the dog was okay and has found a loving forever home, but with such an unpleasant experience we wanted nothing more to do with Toni. She's not a good person and does not have the dogs best interest at heart either. STAY FAR AWAY! read more

My family and I had been looking for just the right dog and had left messages/emails for several organizations w/ questions about various dogs. Instead of simply emailing me back, Jen actually phoned when there was a dog that fit our needs. The fact that she actually made the phone call was what prompted me to drive all the way across town (we are in Ahwatukee and they were showing dogs up by Arrowhead). We ended up adopting the sweetest little black terrier (Stella) from them. It is easy to tell that they took very good care of Stella while she was in their care. She is healthy (we had her vet checked) and happy. Jen said that I could text or call her at anytime to ask about anything. I texted her one question this weekend and she called me immediately. We had a nice long conversation and she was immensely helpful. I have really been impressed with Little Rascals Rescue and have been telling my friends every chance I get. Its funny how suddenly there are good reviews for Toni. She does seem great at first but if you have a problem then her true character shines through. Yes people want cute animals, however families with children want animals who are not aggressive or a threat to well behaved children... Yes Toni keeps a clean place for these animals but she does not check for Giardia (a parasite that cannot be found under a microscope) and considering that my puppy had this when I got her, I am sure that most of the other dogs have it as well. This can infect humans although does not happen often. I would be most concerned with small children in the house because they are constantly putting their hands into their mouths. These parasites will leave your pet without proper nourishment which is extremely important in a growing puppy. Toni also does not socialize the puppies well and puppies need to be socialized the most between 6 and 14 weeks. I am sure that the rescue has adopted out plenty of animals and they have been just fine but for her to assume that any animals who are having issues once in their new home is the people who adopted and not the dog is an ignorant assumption.. As for Toni being straight forward and some people considering that rude... That is not the circumstance of our encounter I am straight forward and She was rude... Everyone beware.... Toni seems upfront in the start but if things don't go right behavior wise with your dog.. You will quickly see through that... I am not completely against this rescue, however Toni is not what she seems. I did not expect to end up with a dog that needs extensive behavior training with a certified behaviorist that would cost me a large sum of money that I cannot afford at this time.. Thankfully someone else stepped in to help until I can do more for our beloved dog... STAY AWAY FROM TONI SHE WILL MISLEAD !! THIS RESCUE TAKES BEHAVIOR CASES THAT OTHER RESCUES WONT.. IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN I WOULD GO TO ANOTHER RESCUE SO THAT YOU LESSEN THE CHANCE OF ENDING UP WITH AN AGGRESSIVE DOG!!! Toni refused to.listen to what i was telling her about the dog we adopted and considering that she was in denial about the dog having fear issues and trying to place the blame on us as though we are not a good family.. This poor animal would have likely been subjected to being returned again or in a home where the people are not so understanding... AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOU PET TESTED FOR EVERYTHING WHEN ADOPTING. read more

Little Rascals Large Breed rescue is above the standard of other rescues, in my opinion. I adopted a dog from them about a year and a half ago. The dog that I adopted was terrified of everything, which made me take a second glance, because those are the dogs that really need an understanding person. I talked to Toni about the dog and she gave me all the facts, straight up. She talked with me at length about my ability and patience to take on a dog with such fear issues, and in the end I adopted the dog. With a little bit of patience this pup has turned out to be a great dog. Because of Toni and her level of knowledge and caring for the dogs she rescues I became a volunteer. I've had nothing but positive experiences in the 1.5 years I've been volunteering. Toni doesn't pull any punches, she is very direct which unfortunately some people take as rudeness. She will take great pains to listen to what your needs are, and steer you in the right direction towards a puppy or adult dog that she thinks will suit your situation; She has extensive understanding of dog behavior.
