So what, best $10 I have spent in a long, long time. Great food vendors, races for money, I think $1500 for one race, $1000 for another, and holy shit! sorry for the shitword, but grudge racing! I've only seen it on TV but apparently they challenge each other for claims of who has the fastest car! Crazy fun! They did one race, they asked ME to hold the flashlight to start the race, yes, i did have a sexy outfit on, come on, it's me after all, i like to be sexy...OMG! so much fun, can't wait for next event, I just need a racer now. The best car there belonged to a WOMAN, Carol I think was her name and I so much want to drive her 'vette, that thing is sick! Please, anyone with a racer, let me know, I want to drive again! Please! You have to walk almost 2 miles around the gates to get to an easy access tunnel to go out to the fan zone, which is unexcused when you pay 3000+ dollars for a campsite to enjoy with your friends / family experience ! I will never be back in my entire life in the grandstands in the Infield or nothing ! Darlington Raceway needs to take a page out of Charlotte motor Speedway book and understand how to appropriately accommodate their fans !!!!!

I recognize my own bias because it seems like Florida tracks (whether it's Daytona International Speedway for NASCAR or New Smyrna for late models or Volusia for dirt track racing) have spoiled me. I drove up from FL for the SC 400 to see Dale race. This was by far the biggest crowd this place had ever seen and they oversold, so it was standing room only. I managed to get a spot on the bleachers which are in bad need of replacement and paving in the surrounding area. It was very difficult for people to navigate because the seats are so tightly clumped together that knees are in everyones' backs and if you dropped something or it fell into the abyss beneath the bleachers, there was no room to retrieve it. This place obviously does not see this kind of crowd regularly, but these seats are a pain regardless if it's a full house or not. The concessions need more line points, but I did like that alcohol/snacks and food/drinks were separated. They had 2 food trucks on the premesis for this race and I think they should definitely bring in more. Merch area was good but they seemed to be running behind schedule for setting a lot of stuff up, so cars going through the pedestrian area while trying to look at/buy merch was frustrating for both drivers and patrons. A new addition to this track (inevitably purchased due to new ownership or the influx that Dale brought in) was the stage used for driver intros and awards at the end of the night. It seemed flashy and I hope that future investments will be put towards improvements for the fan experience, but I understand that this stage is a great way to obtain sponsorship money and maybe bring in new race fans. Regarding this race in particular, they should make sure that they don't oversell and figure out parking so that cars don't line for incoming road and overflow into surrounding businesses for 1+ mile around.

You can pretty much see the whole race track from your seat. However, I recommend sitting as high up as possible for even a better view. This is a half mike oval dirt track. As a result, there wasn't much passing going on during racing. It is not very dusty as I have been to dirt tracks where I couldn't hardly watch the race because of so much dirt in the air and it going in your eyes. After racing was over, dust was all over my car. The food here is very good too. I got several items including; hot dog, nachos and cheese, hot chocolate, and a soda. Servers at the concession stands were nice and friendly and fast in getting up orders.

Compared to the other riding parks we visited, Battery Park was modest. And the stinking porta-potties in the parking lot, along with several dogs running loose, tempered our first impression. But once on the trails all was forgiven. Crave single track? They had oodles, well laid out to mix with ATV trails, in case you need a quick break before diving into the next one. Some sections were whooped-out, others were excellent. The arrowing/trail markers were easy to follow. There were fewer MX tracks than some other parks, but enough variety to be challenging for all skill levels - the kids track was quite popular on the Saturday we visited. Though there were ATV trails we saw few 4-wheelers. It was predominately 2 wheelers, with many faster riders, both on track and on the trails. The people were friendly, the facilities were modest, the riding was excellent.

Leading up to that, we have seen some improvement to some of the trails but not all of them. Some of the trails are pretty much impassable at this point and could be closed. For this past Halloween duck hunt event, it was publicized as including an after ride party with live music. There was no live music either night, and the bar was not open. No liquor license renewed, so no bar. For some in our group, this was a major disappointment. They are currently looking at other options for holiday bookings for our riding group where more amenities will be consistently available.

The day before they told us we could go to the left side to pass everyone since we already had our passes. I believe the weekends they have the night ride is when it's super crowded like this. We had a lot of fun and there were thousands of people there. The only thing I did not like was like I said the traffic. They should've had a dedicated lane for people who already had passes although we rode past everyone as soon as we get off the highway on a two-lane road and we're able to get in after about 15 minutes there were people that had been in line for three hours that we actually knew that did not do what we did. So that's one downside. Another was ordering the food was quick, but it took 15 minutes for an order of fries to come out. There was only one line so that was another thing where they should've had it split and had two people on the register if possible, but other than that, it was an overall great experience. I would definitely go back, but maybe not during a weekend there is a night ride because it was so crowded. We decided to leave and not do the night ride which was the whole reason we actually had went Unfortunately, someone actually lost their life this past weekend while we were there. I'm not sure all of the details but I did see their body laying on the ground, which was a bit disturbing so I will not go into details out of respect for the person in their family. Another thing I noticed was that all of the other ATV places we've gone to there is a rule if you are on a four wheeler or dirtbike you have to have a helmet. Apparently this rule is not enforced here because there were several people who were on four wheelers and dirt bikes, and no one had on helmets! And the side-by-side or ATVs of course it's not required, but I would imagine being on a four wheeler or a dirtbike it's strictly enforced whether you're on a trail or on the road in the parking lot. And unfortunately, the person who lost their life was on a four wheeler and they did not have a helmet.
