This condo gets one star. The only benefit is the location. It is about a 300-foot walk to the slopes, you can ski in, and it's great that it is level with parking. As for the rest, this condo needs to be completely updated. The washer and dryer unit has no lint filter, which is a huge safety issue. Operating a clothes dryer without a lint filter is a severe safety hazard and a leading cause of house fires. The toilets were barely flushing, so we had to have a service member come out to check them - he could not fix the problem and told us not to move our bowels. After we told him that's obviously not an option, he contacted a plumber who came out the next day. The plumber told us that nothing could be done as the pressure is low and to hold the flush handle until we see the waste go down. He said, "You just have to understand that high altitude affects flushing." We've stayed at condos in this very complex several times over the past 15 years, and we know that the issue is not the altitude - the issue is the toilets, like everything else in this unit, are completely dated. The fridge leaks water all over the food. The stove top does not heat efficiently. We had no control over the thermostats - they did not seem to work. The pillows are horrible and stained. The blankets are worn with holes. The furniture is not only dated, but it's very worn. The blinds in each of the windows are very cheap, bent/broken, and looked terrible. There were only six bowls and no teaspoons; this is for a place that holds 10 people. There was no ladder for the top bunk bed. The shared bathroom door does not lock. There was no boot warmer when the listing description stated there was one. There are no hooks in the bathrooms or bedrooms for hanging your towels or bathing suits. They did not have nearly enough towels for a unit that sleeps 10 people. Every outlet was very loose - electronic device plugs would not stay in them. The loft window busted and fell into the bedroom while we were there. Overall, this condo could be great, but the owner needs to be willing to put $$ into it. Get new appliances and furniture, fix the problems, and update the 1980s look. Booked a rental in Airbnb. They had a broken dishwasher, shower, closet. They had people come over twice to fix issues (PRESCHEDULED) but didn't offer compensation-- not even some damn paper plates to mitigate the dishwasher issue. They gave weak apologies, and the review on AirBnb was unprofessional-- name calling and everything. AirBnB actually PAID me compensation after I opened a dispute with them for said compensation! Summit Vacations - State of the shower when we checked in - Vacation Rental Agents Near Me - Breckenridge, Colorado

We booked a snowmobile rental and just outside the 24-hour cancellation window we had an accident with the car that cracked the front bumper and made it impossible to get to the rental. But instead of working with us, either trying to get us booked for another date or helping us with getting a partial refund, we were basically told go pound sand, and were out $500. So word to the wise, these people are heartless and unmoving when it comes to helping you out. read more

We booked online. We were unable to sign the rental agreement online. We called the company over the weekend as we were due to arrive on a weekend and had not received any information to check-in. We left multiple messages with an answering service before we received a return phone call. We arrived at the property. There was a hole in the screen for the sliding glass door. We had to stick paper in the hole to prevent bugs from coming in. The hot water heater wasn't working on our unit. The rental company suggested we could pack up everything, move out of the third floor unit we were in, walk to another building, and move in a third floor unit. They didn't offer to have anyone help. We chose to stay in our unit. We asked for some sort of refund as we still had no hot water. It was finally fixed. The man we communicated with was very short and abrupt in his communication with us and didn't understand why we didn't want to switch units, pack up all of our things and move down three floors and back up three flights of stairs. I would never recommend this company. One tv was fixed but the other wasn't. The company never responded to our emails about the tv not working. We had multiple, negative issues with Summit Vacations for a townhome rental in Breckenridge, Colorado in July 2020. They are summarized in the bullet points below with more detail for each bullet point following. NOTE: If you don't want to read all the details just know that we will never arrange a rental through Summit Vacations again. - Summit website problems - Poor communication during the rental process and stay at the home - Unprofessional work - Broken materials - Inadequate cleaning and preparation for our visit - Lack of management empathy for the problems we experienced Summit Website Problems - the website handled our initial rental then locked us out of everything else because it would not allow us to sign the agreement online. The Summit staff blamed their website designer but never fixed the problem. Poor Communication - To summarize, we had to contact Summit numerous times before and during the rental period because of problems. They never provided any of the followup they promised. We always had to initiate new phone calls or e-mail messages to get them to do anything. They made many promises to get back to us but never did. Unprofessional Work - They attempted to cover a window for us to block out morning light. Whomever did the work hand tore a cardboard box and tried to duct tape six pieces of it to the wall. Four of the six pieces were laying on the bed when we arrived at the house. The microwave oven door was held together with black duct tape too...it worked, but it sure didn't look professional. Broken Materials - As stated above, the microwave door. There was a screen door for a sliding glass door but it was laying on the deck when we arrived because the rollers on the bottom of it were broken. They sent a maintenance man to fix it. He said he couldn't and didn't have a replacement. We had to keep the sliding glass door closed the entire time we were at the home to keep out the bugs. Inadequate Cleaning and Preparation for Our Visit - Too many items to describe in detail. The garage floor had at least six months of dirt, gravel, and grime on it. We had to sweep it out ourselves. The coffee maker still had a used K-cup in it. The humidifiers had leftover water in them. The blinds were so dusty you could write your name on them. The washer had black mold and caked-on lint all over it. The lint trap in the dryer had not been cleaned in a long time. Lack of Management Empathy - At one time during the rental period, we talked directly to the Summit Vacations manager. He acknowledged that the rental agent had told him about all our problems. No apology. No sympathy. No emotion at all. Just a "yes" the agent told him about the issues. We won't presume to advise you on what to do when you need a rental vacation property. We will tell you that we will find a rental company...any company...other than Summit Vacations to arrange our next rental. read more

Stay Away!!! We rented a unit at Sawmill Creek for Thanksgiving this year. When we arrived the unit had sewage water on the floor. We called the emergency number and they sent someone over who agreed that water was backing up in multiple places. We obviously left as it was not habitable for a family with children. The place stunk and water was running into the walls. This unit needs all carpet replaced and the walls treated for mold and other growth. Don't jeopardize you health and stay here!!! To top it off we are having to dispute the charges because the rental company would not refund us as if it was our fault. They did not seem like they were going to notify the neighboring units either. I would avoid this entire build at all costs!! read more

This is the property from hell and if there was a minus 10 recommendation I would choose it. I booked on VRBO so I'm holding them partially accountable for not checking to make sure the property information is correct and the owners are reputable. First issue: We checked in very late and the lock box did not work. We called the after hours number and about 40 minutes later a service man sent by Summit properties showed up and was able to pry open the lock box and let us in. Our initial call was at 12:33Am and we were able to enter at 2:00Am. After complaining to the management they suggested it was only a minor jam we choose to arrive so late so it was our problem. We entered the unit and it smelled old and musty. The air vents were covered with dust and black stuff that I can only imagine was mold. There were toe nail clippings on the floor in front of the loveseat. The couch cushions were creases, sunken, and uncomfortable. The VRBO advertised TVs in bedrooms. Not true. Ok and here is the big one. Due to the Coronavirus Summit properties decided to close the resort. They refused to offer refunds but offered to rebook. I have absolutely no desire to return to any property owned or managed by Summit and neither should you! Did I mention that I paid about $400 a night! read more

Do not use this company for managing your rental property. This company had bad communication with previous guests and left nasty reviews. We cancelled using them, and honored a rental in july. They gave us no indication the guest cancelled and we only found out when we reached out a week before. We lost out on an opportunity to make a reservation because we had blocked the days for their use. read more

Summit Vacations is a company that does not give a crap about the people renting their properties. Our stay was filled with disgusting experiences followed by disappointments. It was the worst Airbnb stay we've ever had. Our first impression of the place we stayed was an OVERWHELMINGLY strong stench of what seemed to be moldy fish in the kitchen the emanated even outside the unit. While searching for the source we found mold underneath the sink and called Summit Vacations to inform them. They said they'd have maintenance call us. They never did. We called again the next day, same thing. Never got a call back. Finally we got a call from Denise, on the third day, saying that she will personally go see it within an hour and a half. The whole day went by, never heard a thing. If that isn't enough, upon arrival, we found trash on the floors including used tissues. The bathrooms obviously weren't cleaned as there was used soap chips from previous stays. Walking barefoot was a risk in itself as parts of the carpet where it transitions to tile has nails sticking up that were stepped on multiple times. Other than that, there was no propane in the tank so we couldn't use the food we bought to BBQ out. We also couldn't enjoy the hot tub as the access code given was incorrect. Nothing was resolved during our stay. We also experienced the weirdest thing we've ever seen in an AirBnb. When putting groceries away in the cabinets we opened one of them up and were surprised to be staring straight at an enema. Crazy! They won't even work with us on a resolution after the fact and Jeff (summit vacations owner) won't return our calls, even though Denise keeps telling us he will. One of the people staying with us is a business owner and was appalled by the customer service, or lack thereof, that we received. read more

Our family had booked a vacation for 4th of July this year PRIOR to Covid-19. With the uncertainty of how long stay at home orders would last, we didn't want to risk getting out there and only being able to stay at the property our whole vacation, so we felt it best to cancel the trip. May 1st we realize that our family, coming from several different states, probably would not be able to go for dinner as a group so we cancel our trip. There were 30 of us with four separate rentals. We are the only family that rented from Summit Vacation Rentals, and did not get our $1850 deposit back! We were given a credit... seriously! Christmas Vacation Stealer! This business does not even deserve one star from me. March 20th, 2018, we booked our Christmas vacation on the Summit Vacations website, which is our Christmas present to our children. The prices were offered for the dates we requested on their website, we accepted the price and booked the Tyra 126 from December 21 - 27, we also added the optional travel insurance. We accepted the contract and paid with our credit card. I informed our kids and told our friends the good news about Christmas vacation! I got an email today (March 21st, 2018) saying that the prices were wrong on the website, they cancelled our reservation and refunded our credit card. I looked on the website at the updated prices for our condo and the price for the stay was $2600 more than what we agreed to pay for 6 nights. Roman (at Summit Vacations) did offer us a 15% discount with our cancellation notice, but that still left us at $1300 over what we initially agreed to pay. This is an obvious BREACH OF CONTRACT, this was at no fault of our own, this feels like a BAIT AND SWITCH! Being a small business owner myself, I know this is NOT an acceptable way to treat your customers. If you make a mistake, you do whatever you can to make it right. I would not recommend Roman, or Summit Vacations to anyone for any of your travel needs in Breckenridge, they are not willing to work with their customers. My husband called to chat with Roman and try to work something out and he said he was not interested in making this right. Please beware of booking with this company! Okay, I didn't actually make it to the rental I booked, but I did have such an amazing experience with the people at Summit Vacations that I had to share. We had booked a big cabin for a family event in Breckenridge. It was clear this was a nice place and had great reviews and I'm pretty sure it is. But, the problem came when we had a notice close to a month prior that due to unforeseen circumstances, the event was now off. As we'd booked the place for nearly a week, it was a pretty big expense just to lose. I called and emailed the folks at Summit and they said although it's against standard policy they could relist the property and do their best to highlight it. I kept my fingers crossed and less than a week later I received a personal call and email saying they reached the owner and they were going to use the property and they forgave our booking and offered us a 10% discount if we decide to book again later. So, we got back everything but a small relisting fee which I'm totally happy with. I know they could have held their line, but instead they decided to do their best to help me out in this tough circumstance. It's greatly appreciated which is why I'm sharing this story. As we've all experienced before, there are companies who will not budge no matter the circumstance. I wouldn't expect Summit to budge for a silly reason, but in this circumstance, they made a judgement call and I'm greatly appreciative and will surely recommend them and use them in the future. read more

Unprofessional, Poor communication and a misleading ad. We rented a property in Breck through VRBO managed by Summit Vacations. The ad promised stringent cleaning standards, but what we found were lip prints on the glasses and a filthy cottage. There was trash all around the hot tub outdoors, and multiple items indoors that did not work(jacuzzi tub, bathroom exhaust fan, light bulbs out) and the hot tub was a balmy 80 degrees. They claim to have rigid COVID cleaning standard, but this us untrue. The written information inside the cottage was out of date (giving a contact person that we found out had not taken care of the property in over a year). There was some confusion at check in, and so we contacted Summit Properties, got an answering service during normal business hours. We never did get a call back, and even after contacting them after our return home, we never got a response. Their listings are untrue, they are unresponsive to concerns, and I would not rent any property that they manage. They clearly don't care. read more

I rented from summit a nice house. During our stay one night Jan. 22, 2019 it was -8 below zero. When we awoke there was no hot water. We called and they sent a handyman who saw that there was no heat in the garage. He finally found the heater control and noticed it was on a 6 hour on off cycle. The pipes were not insulated. We stayed for 5 days in the property after that and returned home. One month and a half later my Visa was charged over $ 1,300.00 for the plumbers fee. I also found out that after that incident they did insulate the pipes. I went back to breckenridge to speak to the owner of Summit and even though it was proven that I had nothing to do with the pipes freezing they refused to give my money back. There is no other explanation then they are simply dishonest and thieves. People read all the reviews of people they have stuck. Stay away from this company if you do not want unpleasant vacations and to get ripped off. There are plenty of alternatives. read more

Wow -- these guys are really big on customer service! We haven't stayed at the condo yet, but I'm pretty impressed already. Yesterday I was very disappointed with Summit Vacations, In late August, I though I'd booked a unit for Christmas week. But I apparently made a mistake during the booking process and my reservation did not go through. Summit did not inform of the mistake until this past Saturday, after the unit had been rented. I was pretty upset, and e-mailed the company on Sunday to say so. But today -- the very next day! -- I received an e-mail from Summit Sales Manager Roman Bodnar, who apologized for the mix-up. More impressively, he also offered us a better condo, closer to the lifts, for the same week -- and at the same price at which I'd tried to book the earlier one! That's above and beyond any response I expected. Mr. Bodnar could not have been more helpful. I re-booked the new unit through him and I'm very grateful for his prompt and generous response. I'm sure we'll enjoy Breckenridge, and I will be sure to use Summit again. And if you're considering renting with them, you definitely should! read more
