Pursuit OCR was super fun! The first time I went was when they first opened many years ago, back in…read morethe old location (smaller venue). This newer location was bigger, more spacious, and had more obstacles and areas such as dodgeball & volleyball arena and arcade games (which you can play after finished with going through the obstacle course). I really liked the diversity of all of the courses. For some of them, you can choose the 'easy' or 'hard' version. Once you finish going through all of the obstacles in the course (which took ~30-45 minutes), you can play dodgeball, volleyball, arcade games, giant Jenga, giant 4-In-A-Row, try scaling up one of the vertical walls, or go through any of the obstacles again. Staff were all super friendly and energetic, from the ones who greeted us at the front and helped us check in, to the ones who explained the rules once inside. Useful tips: - Sign the waiver online to save time when checking in. - Bring a lock or you can purchase one at the front desk for $4. - There is ample parking space in the parking lot right outside the building, and TTC bus stop is 2-8 minutes walk (depending on which bus # you take). - There is a vending machine where you can purchase drinks. - It's better to wear long pants or leggings instead of shorts because in some obstacles, there are 'slides' component and parts where the surface can rub hard against the skin (and pants also do a better job at protecting the knee when crawling).

Secret City Adventures - Explore historic buildings throughout the village

First and foremost is that there is a small amount of jump scares in this escape. The escape…read moreexperience takes place both indoors and outdoors, so if you are easily scared or are afraid of the dark (as you can imagine it can get quite dark in the pioneer village) consider going to the earlier session (6PM vs 9PM). With the way the Pioneer Village is set up, you are instantly already in such a immersive environment. Everything looks, smells, and feels genuine - this is half the elements needed to make this a great escape. Thankfully, besides the environment, the puzzles are very detailed and well thought out. Most puzzles require special mechanisms that were especially made and it's done very well to merge with the existing environment. Owing to and out of respect for the surrounding historical buildings, there are nothing mechanical or electrical, which is charming in its own way. The way the escape experience is set up are that there are many 'buildings' in the village, though you will not visit them all in one play. Therefore, this escape is perhaps the first I've encountered that has actual replay value because you can definitely try a different building next time around. 6 players are recommended because some tasks may require you to subdivide into smaller groups to tackle. Overall, I find the experience very enjoyable, even more so than their Casa Loma games because of the illusion of open area exploration. My only real complaint is that I am really not a big fan of jump scares. With an entire genuine village, I feel the idea for an escape experience is limitless and is not limited to a cursed village - this idea is already done elsewhere. For instance, I would love a RPG style experience - maybe you're looking for a lost gem. Or maybe you've traveled back in time to 1860s in hopes to find a clue about a relic you want to find in present time. A very unique experience overall!

I've been wanting to play this escape room for eight months after hearing wonderful things about…read morethis room from a fellow enthusiast. This room, while creepy, is unlike other escape rooms I have experienced. It utilizes the space of a large historical site that features both indoor and outdoor spaces. You are put into groups of 6 or less. My group of three, which included my 10 year old daughter, was fortunate to be matched up with two visitors from the Boston area. Four of us were experienced escape room enthusiasts and through teamwork, we completed the various tasks with 25 minutes to spare. We got bragging rights for finishing first. (Your group competes with up to 9 other groups.) What made this room extra special is that once we finished, we were given more tasks and experiences. (The average team completes two indoor rooms and 2 outdoor experiences.) One of the special experiences was universally our highlight of the room. What would have made this room extra extra special would have been if we were awarded buttons or given a special promotional code for their other rooms - for being first place finishers. Sometimes bragging rights don't really mean much when the other players aren't happy for you. I would highly recommend this room for those who want an experience working together on solving puzzles in a very immersive environment.

It has many little disjoint puzzles which are somewhat challenging. Each puzzle is independent of the others, which allows for a group to split into smaller groups and solve the puzzles in parallel. The second room was The Lost Treasure (3/5 in difficulty). It was well thought-out and somewhat more challenging than advertised. The main room leads to a secondary room, and the main room is considerably more challenging. Both rooms were suitable for all ages. One of the great things about Enigma is that they allow you a lot of extra time. On both occasions they allowed us almost an additional hour to try to escape. They gave lots of clues, without taking away from the challenge. Moreover, the place is well maintained and it is clean. Keep up the good work.

This new escape room is conveniently located downtown, and we went there for a work social. Getting…read morein was slightly disorganized, but understandably so given that there were at least 50 people squeezed into the reception area at one point. It's a cozy place though with a few couches, coat racks, and lockers to store your belongings - oh, and the mandatory signs to hold up for pictures afterwards, of course. There are 7 different rooms here, 2 of which are horror themed. My team selected the "Godfather" with its 5/5 stars in difficulty rating, with the reason that we wouldn't be embarrassed even if we failed (i.e., a good excuse haha). Without spoiling anything, it gave us quite a run for our money! At first I had thought that the 9 people (maximum) we had in the small room would be overkill, but there were a few convoluted clues in there that had all of us circling around in confusion. It was only after 4 calls for hints later (hints are unlimited here - you'll need them) and with just 1 minute to go on the clock that we thankfully made our escape. Overall, everyone enjoyed the escape games, and the friendliness of the staff definitely contributed to the positive experience. Instructions were clear and the process was fairly efficient, although I felt they were somewhat understaffed as there was sometimes a delay in receiving hints - again, this was to be expected as we constituted a large group, but you'll appreciate my frustration when you're in the room staring in panic at the clock counting down on the wall. The price is reasonable given the location, recommended! :)
