When we booked the venue we had a very friendly and capable co-ordinator. She left soon after and everything changed. During the next couple of months we were given a new point of contact twice. Communication was not great. We were still confident in our choice of venue at this point, plus we have already paid the deposit and the wedding was coming up soon. Caveat - This is a completely raw space. You have to bring in all of your own furnishings, catering decor. They have some available furniture (which we used) and a large enough kitchen for a caterer to work comfortably. There are two bars, one on 6th floor and a second on the rooftop. (which has a gorgeous view) I don't really want to get into it all here, but we were not pleased. If you are using a wedding planner / decor company that has complete control and that will be on site all day to co-ordinate everything, and you need NOTHING from the venue staff, then go ahead and rent this space. It is beautiful and you will have a memorable event. Otherwise, its not worth the stress.

The only problem was that the elevator was stuck for a while, and it's quite a climb to the sixth floor in heels. Also, the rooftop is only accessible by stairs, which can be a problem for seniors. It got a bit hot with 140 people in attendance, and there aren't really a lot of bathrooms (two bathrooms per gender, two stalls each) considering how many people this place fits. The smaller room doubled as the ceremony room and the dance room during the reception. The big windows give a neat view of the city and was a great backdrop for the wedding.

The location was a bit hard to get to since we decided to take transit but that is only a minor issue. The real bright spot is the staff that work there. They are super friendly and very efficient. Nothing seemed like too much of an issue for them. You can tell they take a lot of pains to hire the right person for this type of job. The event was a cash bar and they were a bit slow to process people paying by tapping. This could easily be improved with today's technology options but this did not take away from the overall experience.

As with most live events, there was a lot of moving parts involved but we were able to lean into their expertise, trust their guidance and pulled off something very impressive. We hope to make our June show a yearly tradition at Brighton and look forward to partnering with them again in the future.

The parking lot is large; I was running a little late, but managed to find quite a few spots. The decor is not super fancy so I'm not too sure about backgrounds for photos. As for the food, I was quite impressed. It wasn't your typical rubber chicken dish; the chicken was juicy and quite tasty. I'm not planning a wedding or large event any time soon, but the Brighton Convention Centre does the trick. Good for: large events, conferences

Close to hotels, it seems like an excellent place to get people together for team building or training or meetings. They also partner up with Highpoint Wellness Clinic next door, which offers general wellness practionners to come to your meeting breaks (probably at a cost). There's a cafeteria here too, with food for purchase. Hopefully you'd never need to use it if the company provides lunch. There is also microwaves. I'm not sure the cost to have events and meetings here, but definately something to look into if this is what you're planning in the Mississauga area, or close to the airport. One thing they are missing is a filtered water tap to refill water bottles. You'd think that with a Green mandate and so much emphasis on Wellness, they would have something like this. edit: we just got after lunch snacks! Warm fresh homemade cookiess. yummmm

The vibe. The Distillery District charm. The food. They somehow are able to transform into so many different spaces, while still holding true to remind you that you are in a historic area. The wedding I went to was roughly 100 people, and it was super spacious for us all. Different elements were hosted in different corners and it all flowed together very well. Having an industrial loft atmosphere, this venue is right in the heart of downtown Toronto near the Entertainment district and hustle and bustle of King West. My partner and I had gotten engaged in 2019 where we had signed a contract with Second Floor Events after looking at many other venues in Aug 2019. Our wedding was supposed to happen in Oct 2020, but due to the pandemic, we were forced to postpone where we officially held our wedding reception at Second Floor events in Oct 2021. From the very first meeting with Nicole, the Events Producer, to tour the venue, to meeting our Event Coordinator, Cindy, we knew we were in great hands. When COVID hit, we had decided to postpone our Oct 2020 date to Oct 2021, something Second Floor Events was very accommodating with. We were able to choose a new date to our liking with no extra added costs. Due to pandemic restrictions, it was tough knowing when to start planning for our Oct 2021 as my partner and I eagerly waited to hear more news from the provincial government. Finally, as the pandemic restrictions slowly lifted, we reached out to our event coordinator, Cindy, about 2.5 months before our event was supposed to take place. With a short timeline to pull the whole event together, Cindy was responsive and answered all our questions during the planning process right to the day of the wedding. We were also surprised when we had the tasting how good the food tasted (which was very important!); we were also able to customize/change any aspects of the dishes we tried to our liking and tastes. During the wedding day, Cindy as well as the Second Floor Events staff was able to make sure things were more or less on schedule. Although we had a few hiccups, many guests raved about the food and what a great time they had. The beautiful venue itself added to the atmosphere of the entire night. As stressful as the planning was, we were glad and appreciative of the staff at Second Floor Events and wouldn't have imagined celebrating with our family and friends any other way. Overall, beautiful venue in the heart of downtown Toronto, great tasting food, and great staff to work with and coordinate your next event. Could not have asked for more! Thank you Second Floor Events!!

I was surprised at the lack of parking for such a big event venue and had to park ridiculously far away. Not the end of the world but not totally ideal. The ballroom we were in was nice enough, spacious and pretty standard. Our buffet lunch was a bit of a let down. I know its hard to cater for that many peeps at once (I think we were about 400 people?) but the food was overly bland and not well seasoned at all. I had to go and ask the bartender for salt and pepper, as it wasn't on the table. Bathrooms were fairly nice/clean however they were completely out of paper towels during our visit.
