Was able to bring my shoes in same day. The technician was wonderful. While he could have fixed my shoe, he was honest and said for the cost of the repair, he did not feel I would get my wear worth in the fix. I really appreciated him being honest when he could have made the money. I truly appreciate that kind of service and for that alone , I will be bringing any future work back to him. read more

This place is great!! I needed some new holes punched in a couple of pairs of new Birkenstocks and the straps trimmed. He did exactly what I asked and what was needed at a very fair price and it only took a couple of days. This shop is pretty busy and I can understand why: his work is very good!! If you need shoe repair, this is the spot in Lees Summit! read more

Daryl took great care of me. I needed my fave boots re-heeled and sole needed new treads. $34 for that and to polish them up. Will be done and ready the next day. He even punched a hole for me in a belt - needed an "in between" belt hole. They also do quick turnaround for luggage repair. I was impressed with the text notice I got the next day, letting me know my boots were ready. They did a great job refreshing my favorite leather dress boots! read more

Okay here's the deal: I brought my Kate Spade teacher purse and a pair of shoes I regularly wear in mid-March to get repaired. It was minor work in my opinion (restitching a strap and a seam). He gave me the estimate of three weeks which felt kind of long to me but I didn't know where else to go. Three weeks go by, I hear nothing. By the end of April, I still haven't heard anything. I call him, it goes to voicemail and says he will be out until May 4th. I call on May 4th, he says it's not done yet but he will bump it up to towards the top of the list and call me when it's done. All of May goes by, no call, all of June goes by, no call. By mid-July I go in store (I'm kind of angry at this point but can't show it). He says he doesn't have anything under my last name (!!!). I show him the ticket stub he gave me and can see my bag and point to it. He pulls it down and says it was under the wrong name and has been done for weeks (but he didn't call me!!). My original estimate was $30, but because of how long it took, 4 MONTHS, he gave me $5 off. The quality of work was fine but the process was quite frustrating. TLDR: affordable, decent quality, unorganized, will take forever to get your stuff repaired. read more

Same location in the strip center (beside Unk's burgers) but the current owner, Chris Williams, bought it from Joe a few years ago. What a treat to have knowledgeable, friendly and honest customer service these days! When's the last time you got THAT at Walmart? Anyone? Anyone? I took my shoes in to see if they could be salvaged and was honestly told no. He also told me Clarks (the brand of shoe I had) seemed to have this issue. I went ahead & asked a simple question concerning the best way to polish the boots I was wearing & was given a quick lesson. Yep, I would've done it wrong. While I was there I heard him turn down another customer's business telling her the fix would end up costing more than the shoe is worth. Honesty again! LOVE IT! I think this little shop is doing a good business and is providing a really valuable service. Their card says they do: Boot/Shoe repair & shine, Handbag repair, Professional Orthopedic Work, Spenco Arch Supports & Insoles, Custom Foot Orthotics and have a large selection of shoe strings and a full line of shoe care products. I'd bet my boots these guys can take care of about anything possible of fixing! Their hours are 8-6 Monday through Friday and 8-2 on Saturdays. read more

I brought in 9 pairs of heavily worn heels (caps long lost, rounded off, fabric fraying...) and I am super impressed by how well they restored them! I came back 48hrs later and all of the shoes looked great again. And the prices were really good! I definitely recommend them for your shoe repair. read more

I have never given a review before even if I have experienced bad customer service but this is one that I felt needed to be shared because Summit Shoe Service is the worse place you can possibly take your valuable items to be repaired. I had a very nice and expensive Michael Kors purse that was bought as a gift from my sister. I snagged the leather on one side of the strap, which was not noticeable to the public eye but bothered me. I asked Chris and his staff on two separate occasions if they would be able to make it look like the other side. On both trips to the shop I was told yes and was informed how it would be fixed. However, that was not the case. My sister went to go pick it up and it was completely destroyed. The leather on the purse was Saffiano but yet they used a different type of leather that clearly didn't match. They cut it from the outside and poked holes in it. The button was not properly put back in place. It looked like a job repair done by a two year old on their worse day. The purse went into the shop still being able to be carried and having people complimenting me on it. Now my favorite purse which is no longer carried in stores is ruined. The right thing to do would have been for them to contact me and inform me that they did not have the leather to match and was unable to fix it. They did not give me that option. After they realized the horrible job they should have taken it upon themselves to try and restore it back to the way it was brought to the store which was in good condition. Instead Daryl yelled and shouted at my sister in person and myself while I was on the speaker phone that we didn't have to pay cause we are rude and to get the damn purse out of their fucking shop just because we disagreed with the quality of the work Chris the store manager did. No store credit, future discounts or other option was offered for messing up the purse, wasting our time and gas. Now I'm left having to find a replacement that I will have to pay for. If it was possible I would not have given this place any stars. Needless to say think twice about going here. I wish I would've used my better judgement when I almost decided not to take it there and risk having it damaged. read more
