My washing machine is on the second floor and malfunctioned causing a leak down through the ceiling into my dining room, and I had damage to my upstairs laundry room and ceiling on the first floor. I used A & I both for water mitigation and repair and I'm so happy I did. They were great in communicating pricing, what to expect, and really everything. I ended up having them replace my popcorn ceiling with a flat ceiling and they really went above and beyond. They made recommendations for different things I could do (I never would have though about replacing my air vents), and when it didn't occur to me to replace the big register they painted it for me to make sure it matched the others. Every last detail of what they were doing was included in the quote, so I never wondered what I was paying for. Every single person I spoke to at A & I and who came to my house was friendly and helpful. They left my house cleaner than they found it, which was not necessary but so appreciated. I think it is a "fishing site" lead collection fake service hoax business and it is not even a company that is registered with the NC Secretary of State. I read about the company and their owner John Bryter in a news release so I called them to provide service for my condo (water leak coming from neighbor's condo). A guy named Steve responded and quoted $250 for the service call to clean up water. I was then told it would be an additional $400 to dry it up and finish the job so I proceeded. When Steve returned, the drying equipment was removed and said it would cost $1800 more. The area was left still unfinished, & baseboards were discarded without my approval. Unnecessary work was started (removed sheet rock), and when I contacted to follow up, I was told that he could get my insurance to cover the cost to "finish" the area. When I expressed my disappointment that I already paid to have the area finished & requested reimbursement of my discarded baseboards, Steve responded, "fxxk you, you bxxch, you stupid cxnt!" I tried to call the fictitious owner named John Bryter and no one there even knew who he was. I immediately ended the call without further discussion and notified the BBB. In my opinion, this company used a "bait and switch" scam in an attempt to drive up the cost to get me to file a claim with my insurance. I also believe Steve provided false information, as I specifically asked if the additional $400 would cover to reset the carpet which it did not. Without a doubt, Steve was very unprofessional & disrespectful and this company is a HOAX, Check them out you for yourself! STAY AWAY!!
