We hired Paint RX to complete the interior painting of our newly purchased home. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to be present while the work was being completed.
Jacob was assigned to oversee our entire project. Based on what we walked into, we honestly do not believe he ever stepped foot in our home or provided meaningful oversight.
We were told on Friday, August 21, 2026, that the project was completed. When we arrived home on August 23rd, we were shocked. The entire home was covered in dust, dirt, and a film of something on virtually everything. Trash, paint containers, drywall containers, old vents, and debris were left in the kitchen. Furniture had not been put back properly, and much of it had not been adequately protected.
We also discovered four doors had never been painted, sloppy workmanship, paint on our white trim from improper taping, and areas where oil-based paint had not been properly prepped before being painted over. As a result, the new paint would peel right off.
Had the project been properly overseen, many of these issues could have been caught before we ever arrived home. Along with the poor workmanship, Jacob bears significant responsibility for the lack of oversight.
Now for what sets Paint RX apart.
Paint RX owned up to every issue we had--and then some.
We are extremely grateful to Gene, Louie, Dan, and owner Joel. They all played a role in turning what started as a nightmare into a beautiful home.
After we notified Gene and sent pictures, she immediately involved Joel. We made it clear we did not want Jacob returning, and Gene completely understood. She arranged for Louie and a teammate to correct the problems.
Louie was absolutely great to work with. He redid patchwork, painted the four unpainted doors, corrected the improper work, and even redid additional trim that we thought was acceptable but he felt needed improvement.
When the improperly prepped oil-based paint became an issue, Gene brought Dan in to oversee the situation. Dan made sure the proper oil-based primer was obtained and that the affected doors and trim were redone correctly.
Louie and Dan also discovered additional problems we hadn't noticed and took the initiative to correct those as well.
This is where I have to give Paint RX credit. They stood behind their work. They made no excuses and never told us something was "good enough." They continued working until we were 100% satisfied and repeatedly apologized for the original workmanship and lack of oversight.
The End Result
Once everything was completed correctly, we could finally appreciate how beautiful our home looked. The colors turned out beautifully, and we are very happy with the finished product.
I want to be fair to Paint RX. If something goes wrong, they will stand behind their work and make every effort to correct it. Not every company does that.
The original workmanship and project oversight were frustrating and unacceptable. However, when we brought the problems to their attention, they took responsibility, brought in the right people, and stayed with it until everything was done correctly.
That is why I am giving Paint RX 4 stars instead of a lower rating.
Good companies make mistakes. Great companies take responsibility and make them right.
In the end, Paint RX did exactly that.
Would I hire Paint RX again? Absolutely.
