What do you say about physical therapy? It's the hard part of the surgery (or should I say…read morepost-surgery) experience. Yet the therapists at Covenant Therapy Center are the best. Phil, Jennifer and Haley have done their best to make PT a pleasure with their care, know-how and friendliness. Even the PT assistant, energetic and enthusiastic Jessica, adds her cheer to each session. The front office ladies are mostly business, yet one of these employees greets me by name most days even before I check in. What more can I ask except to fully recover and no longer have need to return.

Decided to try this therapy center because it is three blocks from my office. Convenience is often…read morekey when a medical appointment is 2-3 times per week and my schedule is ridiculously chaotic. I will start off with the most notable point. Front desk staff. I'm not sure it is ever best to engage with a NEW patient by not saying hello or welcoming them in any form but instead asking for an insurance card and handing paperwork through a window. I brushed that off. Thought, meh, I'm first on the docket for the day, they haven't had enough coffee, and breakfast was a stale bagel but then a guy walked in about 5 minutes after me and he got a Hello, how are you? and some light chit chat. So did the couple that came in after him. Also, calling out to the therapist that their next appointment is here, over a loud speaker, had me thinking, for a moment, that I was in a fast food restaurant or a baseball game. Nope, I was in a doctor's office. My therapist was Whitney. She rocked! Friendly and kind and knowledgeable and patient not to mention respectful. I walked into my physical therapy appointment, for my foot, with a skirt on. Yes, I did. I did not wear my "yoga pants" on this date but should have. Whitney made sure I kept my dignity intact! She really is a great therapist. One I would recommend requesting. However, when you go, bring the front desk some Krispy Kreme's and a bouquet of flowers...they need some cheering up!

Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Hospital West - Their goal was to have him roll out. Never intended to meet his goal of standing up to walk very sad.

I want to thank the entire staff working, at the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation center , for helping my brother Sedreck with his speech and physical therapy due to his stroke and brain surgery.

Shiny new building means nothing, don't be fooled. RNs,…read moreand PT and OT at this location try VERY hard to help patients but MANAGEMENT makes the facility miserable. They discharge too soon and don't give adequate patient time to gain strength, the goal. 10/14 days of no constructive PT and OT won't work! Sometimes people need a few more days. But not given that chance! Doctors (Dalton), management and administrative team are mostly, NON responsive to requests and or concerns about discharge or services unless you reach out to their corporate office. They ignore and dismiss family and patient pleas. Your rehab GOAL will most likely be determined by the roll the dice. Do they want to work hard with a patient and allow time to rehab? Or get a simple payout of insurance for an easy rehab then clap for a win by the pat Neal team?! But the one who LOST the game was the patient; they lost physical rehab time, and decline because of Encompass Health decisions for their pocketbook. Shame on you! Just some additional information ... OUR insurance , the patients insurance company (a good, highly used healthcare insurance provider) allowed us a liaison to help extend care and rehab for the patient. This insurance liaison contacted Patricia Neal to speak with the case manager and physician. They asked these contacts (Dalton and Crabtree, and others) to submit a pre-authorization for more time. The Case Manager,Rachael Crabtree, said she speaks for Dr Dalton, and told the insurance company, "NO, we WILL NOT submit a pre authorization because you'll (ins co) will just decline it". What?! Who does that? Patricia Neal West does! The insurance company said to file a complaint about the facility & medical board about the doctor. The insurance company said the Patricia Neal staff she spoke with were rude and unwilling to help the patient. Shame on you! The matriarch Patricia Neal would be furious and embarrassed to have her name on this facility. Employee count is LOW, there's a reason for that. Look at the management team and their management. PLEASE try another rehabilitation facility and NOT Patricia Neal West!
