Unique center with a variety of doctors. Located in an isolated area in open land, there is plenty of parking. There are multiple buildings and entrances, so you have to know which building the doctor is located in, or you are in a giant maze with multiple floors. I stopped by to get a blood check and an EKG, preparing for surgery coming up soon. The services were great for those 2 departments. While I was there visiting a doctor, there was a dining area, so I stopped by. I was hungry, so I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. It was surprisingly good. I had a surgical procedure done with Dr. Nadiminti and he is one of the nicest, calmest and most competent doctors I have ever dealt with. I can't find enough words to describe how nice Dr. Nadiminti is. His staff is also superb! The nurses made me feel at home even though I was worried and tense about my surgery. I'm just sad he cannot be my main dermatologist since he focuses on surgery and more complex matters. Worst experience. Zero customer service or concern for patients. Impossible to reach Dr's office with questions or to obtain routine lab results. Tried over a dozen times to sign up on patient portal and every time I was notified the code Summit Health sent me, which I copied and pasted, was invalid! The doctor I saw in primary care was average and the tech who drew blood was wearing filthy sneakers and handled medical equipment without gloves. This was an entirely exasperating experience and I will never go back. I had to give them to the again. 6 months later he needs forms filled out again. I have called them 3 times in the past week and still have not gotten a call back even after they sent the message as urgent. I drove the office and there were signs that they closed the practice and my son's doctor left this group. Gee I wonder why.... I had to find another doctor at my sons school and will have to pay for another physical out of pocket since the insurance only allows 1 per year. I've been going to my primary care physician for over 20 years and when he went to Summit Medical that was the end. Forget the fact that the nurses refused to refill simple medications that you've been taking for years unless you come in every 2 months, but when I called about a urinary tract infection and wanted to get medication the the office told me my position was on vacation and would not pass me to the other doctor because he didn't know me. The staff was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They are respectful to your time and are incredibly prompt when you have an appointment. Affiliation/purchase of NJ Urology: Doctor didn't call back for weeks until I used another medical team....saying he wasn't experienced handling large kidney stones all the while I called off hours, spoke to other doctors, receptionists, and the nurse. Shocking way to treat a patient. My mother is doing wonderfully despite other issues. Were they thinking she couldn't make it ? Another doctor from another medical team had confidence & expertise. Tell the patient's family right away, rather so we don't have loyalty to a medical group who doesn't deserve it nor on being on any medical team. If I could give this place a 0, I would. I drove 50 mins from Brooklyn to the 310 Merrick Road address after a 12.5 hrs over night shift. I arrived 15 mins late for my appointment and I was the only person in the waiting area. I was told by the front desk person that I will stay and give further information if I can still get to see the doctor, but if I can't see the doctor I will just go somewhere else. After about 5 mins she stated that the doctor will be able to see me And asked for my insurance and ID. Then 5 mins later she stated that she made a mistake and read the message wrong, she is still waiting to see if the doctor will see me. Her default was, "I am human." But you can't read a message properly? It is either yes or no! I find that to be very dishonest! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I had a horrible experience with the billing office. I was quoted a price for the service over the phone, but after the procedure, the amount billed was more than double what I was told. Because the balance was higher than expected, the office advised that I had 18 months to pay the bill. Despite making consistent monthly payments, my account was sent to collections before 12 months had passed. I did not receive any updated statements by mail or email, nor did I receive any phone calls regarding an outstanding balance. The first notification I received was a call from a collection agency. I contacted Summit Medical's billing office for clarification, but they were unable to provide any help or explanation. read more

If there was an opportunity to give zero stars, I most certainly would. to start, Dr Pein has to be the most non-collaborative clinician I have encountered yet. as if scheduling an appointment for simple allergy shots wasn't already challenging, They don't make opportunities for flexible scheduling. For example, during the week, many of the appointments available are during school hours for pediatric patients. When doing these on a weekly basis, a parent cant justify pulling their child out of school every week at 2pm. Then Dr Pein accuses us of not prioritizing the shots. The front office staff is hit or miss. Just about every other week, you may encounter someone who simply can't be bothered to look away from their iPhone. On the contrary, the nurses administering the shots are the kindest, most engaging clinicians we have encountered. Just be mindful. If you're looking for a holistic positive experience, this is not it. Many friends in the area have left the practice because of the negative experiences. Saw a doctor on January 9, 2026. Went for blood work and xray the same day. Saw the blood work results posted over the next couple of days. Never heard from the doctors office on what the results mean. I then sent an message via the portal after about two weeks. Only today, Feb 19th did a RN from the doctors finally call me. Six weeks after my appointment! Was told I slipped through the cracks.... All the money I paid, even after insurance. Horrible experience. I went in for a simple wellness visit and walked away with almost a $300 bill in co pays. After hours and hours of back and forth with insurance and their billing department, I come to find out that if you say anything other than "I feel fine and everything is completely normal" they will double code the visit. The reviews on here are all over the place. Some are about doctors and their hours, some are about the billing dept. Overall, I think this is a great organization and there has been considerable effort put into improving the billing, the ability to make appts and other issues that the group had several years ago. My family has had some issues with doctors and so we changed to someone else. We go to numerous doctors within the practice and have found our core of doctors within the group. The office staff is not great and that goes for most of the offices, but that seems to have improved some and depends on the individual provider. Some of the communication issues come from the doctors themselves and those can also be solved by changing providers. I would hate for someone to see the rating and not go to a doctor at this practice and lose out on some great care. read more

And they couldn't help. The office number was never answered. I left 4 messages. The people who are clearly not in the US asked about 15 questions. They just keep sending you to a new physician in their group. "Sorry, I don't handle that." "I'm not allowed to do that." "Oh, you have to see this specialist first and then do a follow up with them. Then you move on to the next specialist...with another follow up.. "it'll be four-six months before they have a spot open." "sorry I can't connect you to the office to talk to someone, but you can tell me and I'll pass the message along." "So we have to wrap this up now, I have another patient." -but I literally only spoke to you for 90 seconds?? If you need real care, I wouldn't recommend you come here. But if it's simple care, like the flu, or something routine, you're hopefully fine. There are some great physicians, but many don't stick around for long. -its nice that they have a patient portal to see results or pay a bill. I will start by saying that I have had no problems with the medical care at this group. My issue is with the billing office. I have been absolutely floored by the complete lack of competence of the billing office. A year and a half after I moved out of New Jersey and had switched to a different healthcare provider, I received a bill from a service 21 months prior for about $1,800. I will acknowledge that the legal statute of limitations for collecting medical debt in NJ is 6 years - that does not make it reasonable in my opinion and this is not a one off circumstance for Summit Health. That being said, with it being so long after the date of service, I had to figure out how to get into my old insurance portal and get in contact with my former insurance company. When I did, they advised that they adjusted the bill to about $535 (as per the contracted legally allowed amount for the services that I received) and that it was paid in full. I got an EOB. The amount that Summit Health billed me for was the difference between what the insurance company adjusted and paid and what they had originally charged (again, outside of the contracted allowed amount). I took this back to Summit Health. The first person I spoke with on the phone said that insurance denied the claim because it wasn't a covered service. I pointed out that I literally had an EOB that adjusted the bill and paid for it, so obviously that wasn't correct. She gave me the run around and when I didn't accept it, she said she would escalate it and someone would call me back within 2 business days. Nobody called me back. I called back again and spoke with someone else. She couldn't figure out why I was being charged, so she said she would escalate it and have somebody call me back. Nobody called me back. I called back and spoke with a third person who said he couldn't do anything and somebody would call me back. Mind you, these were not quick conversations each time. I spent multiple hours during my work day on the phone going back and forth with the insurance company (I was somehow forced to be the liaison between the two entities despite knowing the least about the contract and not having access to the system and whatever the fuck they were missing to remove the bill????). After about couple of weeks of continuously chasing Summit Health, I finally got someone who was able to remove the charge. This was the same billing office line that I had been repeatedly calling, so I imagine that all of the reps that I spoke with previously had power to do something and just didn't. She said she would do whatever needed to be done to remove the bill, and that she would call me back before noon 2 days later to confirm that it had been done. She never called me back. When I called in that afternoon, I spoke with someone who confirmed that the bill removed, but he said you now have another bill of about $61 or something. Are you fucking kidding me? He said that a separate service had been denied by the insurance company. So I went back to my insurance company and they said yes it was denied but we believe it was incorrectly coded by Summit Health's billing office. Back I go. I start another process of going back and forth between Summit Health and my insurance company. I inform Summit Health that I'm working on this with insurance - do not send my bill to collections. A few weeks later, I find out that they fucking sent my bill to collections!!!! When I gave somebody a mouthful on this, she said it's automatically sent to collections after a certain amount of time. Why the fuck was I not informed of that? Also, there has to be a way to prevent that when you KNOW somebody is working with their insurance company on the claim issue. Ultimately, I won, and paid nothing. I have never been so irate in my life. Summit Health's billing office is completely unprofessional and unwilling to help. I fought tooth and nail to not be charged by covered and ALREADY PAID FOR SERVICES removed from my bill. This is not the first time I am aware of them billing people a very long time after the date of service. My mom has had several experiences with that as well (those bills, to my knowledge, were correct). I recommend avoiding this practice to protect yourself from circumstances like this. read more

The call center makes it impossible to communicate with your care team. I am all for doctors and other caretakers having a life separate from their patients, but at least provide me with an office phone number that I can call and leave a voicemail at with concerns about appointment scheduling. I have needed to wait for 20-30 minutes to simply cancel an appointment because (1) the online summit portal is faulty and (2) I get sent to a digital answering machine, then the call center, THEN finally get connected to my actual office to speak with the secretary. I called and spoke with someone to please have me removed from their call list. They wanted my full name, date of birth, etc...i said you don't need any of that information because I'm not a patient. She continued to say that it's the only way they can access my health records. Um what????, I just said I'm not a patient, I don't use anything from summit health. She still wanted my information. And then she wanted me to give her my number, and I said come on it's 2025 you're going to tell me you don't have called ID? This went on for a while. Just a few minutes ago, I received another call from summit health, asking for someone who I don't know. I said they have the wrong number and please remove me from the calling list. Last week, I drove and accompanied my partner to a doctor's appointment at this Summit Health campus in Berkeley Heights. It was easy to get there from route 78, and is close to the exit turnoff. There are a number of pavilions/buildings on the campus. While you're driving through the premises, there is clear signage to get you to the right building. Inside the building (at least, the one that we went to - Bensley Pavilion for Pulmonology) had clear signage also. Personnel who we encountered on that day when we were on site were also friendly and professional. I am glad to come back again for appointments at Summit Health. read more

I was on hold with the billing department for 10 minutes when it told me that the wait was NINETY-SIX MINUTES!!!! 96 minutes????!!!!! Hey, Summit Health, you claim to be among the very best so you demand premium pricing from our payers, which translates into high prices for us patients. I've been happily using Summit Medical for 20+ years for almost all my med care, but had my first and pretty bad encounter today with their India call center. I called to reschedule appointment with a new specialist. First rep took 5 mins to understand what I wanted him to do, put me on hold for 10 mins, and disconnected me. Second rep didn't do what I asked, despite me explaining it twice to be clear and waiting on hold for almost 10 mins again. I asked him to pass me to a supervisor for help - put on hold for 5 mins, then he just transferred me back to the general Summit phone menu! Guess that way his call stats look better. Gave up and called the specialist department directly to reach someone local who actually knew what they were doing, all done in 5 mins .... I gather new owner Walgreens' priority is cutting costs, not so much quality of their call center support. read more

I went for my yearly check up. The doctor told me that I might have thyroids problem and my EKG came back abnormal so I needed to do a thyroid ultrasound and an echocardiogram. I scheduled both. paid hundreds of dollars for the thyroid exam (which came back negative) and over a thousand for the echocardiogram (which also apparently came back negative). After my echocardiogram, I heard nothing. after weeks of worrying that something might be wrong with my heart, I called. They wouldn't tell me anything except that my doctor no longer works for them and to discuss my result I would need to schedule another $400 session with the new doctor. I scheduled It and he told me that the original EKG malfunctioned and basically whatever the old doctor told me was wrong. but I still paid over a thousand dollars plus $400 for you to tell me this.. I feel like I'm entitled to a lawsuit. read more

I made an appointment with the dermatologist specifically for skin cancer screening, which is covered by my insurance in full as preventative. Nothing else has been discussed or performed. They billed me for a specialist visit instead! After I called about it, coding review department "determined" that it was billed correctly and "left me a voice message", which I never received. I requested a supervisor call back FIVE TIMES, but never got one. I've filed an appeal with my insurance and will further look into reporting this practice as insurance fraud. read more

Be very careful! I am a retired Internist. Was seen as a new patient, by an internist for 20 minutes, had a cursory exam, then was billed twice! Medicare paid for the new patient visit, then Summit billed for a wellness visit ($236) the same day, which Medicare would not pay for. Spoke to billing that said since I had chronic illnesses, they could bill for both. FRAUD! Unfortunately, Medicare would not go after these thieves, because Medicare was not billed for the wellness visit (which never occurred). read more

The technician and the equipment were fine, but to get a final report continues to be a bureaucratic nightmare. I have been calling several departments, but no one can help me.
