We've since brought friends in to check out this great gym, and Tanya was happy to give us a tour as walk-ins--thank you! I'll update this review later, but so far, I've only ever found rock climbing gyms to be this exciting. I really appreciate the wide range of activities and options available here. It's kid-inclusive, disability-inclusive, and offers designated times and spaces to make certain areas safer for different groups. There's also a spa with many services, plus other highlights like a fresh juice and food café, saltwater pools, a rock climbing wall, hot tub, kids' area, online classes, and rotating displays of local artists' work each month. I ran into a family member and my obgyn which was pleasant. I could go on. It also happens to be a place where AMR ambulances are stationed while waiting for calls, which is pretty unique. Love it. The one downside I'll mention has to do with gym members, not gym itself. It is important to share though. One experience we had at the pool last July. While pregnant, I regularly swam laps as part of my exercise routine. One day, I invited friends visiting from Oakland to join my partner and me at CNW. One of my friends is an excellent swimmer and instructor. While we were swimming laps, we noticed repeated, intentional, and uncomfortable staring from a group of men in the hot tub. I asked if they were waiting for the pools or something. We were not breaking any rules, being disorderly, or abusing time limits. The energy was noticeable and felt by ALL of us. Perhaps it's worth noting that some older, Caucasian gym members may prefer an environment that reflects Oregon's earlier history. I'm not saying CNW itself is racist, but it would feel incomplete not to share what we experienced that day.

The kids club section is disgusting. They clearly do not clean or sanitize anything. The ball pits…read morehave mold. The toilets had feces on them, there was feces on the floor of the bathroom. We had a party here, which they plan after a full day of kids playing in there so it's not sanitized before. And they are worried about outside food or drink yet have literal sh*t on the floor. This location was a good size with plenty of equipment, we never had to wait for a machine. It was very clean and the staff were actively cleaning when we were there (we spent two days at this location). Showers had great water pressure and hot water. The owner Alan Masters and the previous owner now manager Brad Krayer, are as poor of leaders and business men as they come. I came into the situation at the end of 2018 when a new woman manager had just begun putting her heart into it and she wanted me to teach yoga there. She loved that place, the people and honored wholly her responsibility to turning a failing business into something greater; even getting herself and the space into the newspaper. She was well on her way too; all numbers were on the rise, the space was getting cleaner and more put together, and people were coming in with joy on their faces. Then suddenly, without warning, Alan Masters replaced the woman manager with Brad Krayer, who was, again, the previous owner who wasn't succeeding; what person in their right mind does that? But nonetheless, I still continued to participate, had an in person meeting with Alan about my dedication and positioning in making Grants Pass a more healthy and thriving environment through the G Street Fit Club with the classes and events I was hosting. Alan told me he put the power in Brad's hands and when I requested an in person meeting with Brad, he labeled me as pushy and let me go; no warning, nor notice to my students who were already consistently attending, paying and getting phenomenal results from their training. Brad and Alan are cowards, egoists, and men of little heart and mind; likely why they rejected me and my mindful and heartful practices - to them my energy was a threat to their poor patterning, so now I move to end their patterning and presence completely. Overal, the G Street Fit Club is falling apart; literally as well as figuratively - there is a HUGE hole in the floor boards underneath a few of the workout machines for instance. I recommend that you find some place in Grants Pass who actually cares and shows emphasis on making their space, as well as the people within it, better, healthier and happier because these men do not.

Andrew just got his black belt through Eddie Bravo, every class but the women's class is taught by him. He competes often at a high level and wins using technique he shows in class. Andrew has coached me at every tournament I have competed in and has been super present in building my game from zero experience to purple belt. The mats are cleaned well consistently. I have never gotten ringworm or staph from training here. The people here are good at making sure no-one walks barefoot off the mats and that people cut their nails. There's classes three times a day Monday - Friday for a variety of levels. The fundamentals at six has no live rolling and is easy to dip into but can be a good workout if you drill hard. The atmosphere is relaxed, unless we are doing comp specific training on Thursdays for advanced class. I've seen a lot of people lose fat training, even beginners just doing advanced. 10th planer grants pass is hands down the best jiu jitsu in the Rogue Valley.
