In other words, I'm just your average 30 something mom who has not made herself a top priority and has gotten a little "soft". I have tried CrossFit twice before but didn't have a good experience so I didn't last long. I felt intimidated by the moves, the cliques within the gym, and the pressure to always be increasing weight when I knew I needed to focus more on form. For some reason, I decided to give it one more go because, well, it was time to do something for me. I heard about CF Steelhead and wanted to give it a shot because a) I had heard really great things about the owners/trainers, 2) it was close to my house, and c) I finally admitted that I need motivation to work out. It's now been two weeks and I finally feel that passion (albeit not the culty obsession) about CrossFit. I credit it entirely to Laura and Ty who have been so welcoming, friendly, and inspiring. You can tell how dedicated not only to their new business venture, but to their customers who they obviously care about. This morning I could barely lift my arms to take my shirt off after my work out, but it is a surprisingly good feeling. I look forward to taking a peek at the website every night to see what the workout is going to be the following morning and don't get discouraged when I see that there will be elements like push ups, pull ups, and double unders because even though I suck at them now, I finally feel confident that I will one day master them. Perhaps one day I will even be one of those dorks who is constantly posting pictures of themselves of Facebook doing 150 lb. over head squats. Okay, probably not, but I am still pretty ecstatic to have found this place. Thanks Laura and Ty for doing what you do. You guys are the best and am ecstatic to be a part of your crew!

I Love Iron Haven Gym! I found Snow and Iron Haven Fitness…read moreafter herniating at L4/L5 for the second time in 5 years. I had done multiple rounds of physical therapy and cortisone shots. My second herniation was devastating to me and I was afraid to move my body. I had thought that the work outs that I had been doing were helping to develop the core strength that I needed to not reinjure. In reality the cortisone had really just been masking further damage and I was reinforcing a lifetime of bad habits. It was suggested to me that a personal trainer could be beneficial. After speaking with a few trainers, Snow (proprietor of Iron Haven) and I decided we would work together. I AM SO GRATEFUL. Snow is hypercompetent, is able to take in the limitations that her clients may have to overcome and build a personalized program to help bring you back up to a level of functionality. Our exercises change and vary every session, which is great for me because the variability keeps it interesting and engaging. We work on mobility and flexibility, which has been a game changer for me and foundational in the progress I have been able to make in injury recovery. Snow is the exact bridge I needed between physical therapy and the real world. In two month I can feel the difference in my strength and abilities. We also work heavily on proper body mechanics, which has been imperative in my recovery. Snow is able to pivot with ease the day of a session if my back is flaring and I love that. I never feel like I can't go to the gym because I know that there is always something I can work on because she has given me that confidence. I have been so thrilled with the results that I bought my husband a 5 pack of sessions with her and he is also super stoked with his progress! I recommend Snow and Iron Haven emphatically, her husband also offers personal training! Whether you are like me and wondering where do you go after physical therapy to avoid reinjury or like my husband who is looking for gains, Iron Haven is your gym! They offer personal training, crossfit classes, nutritional guidance and more. They are versatile, educated, and capable of helping you achieve your personal goals, whether that is injury recovery and regaining confidence or more body building and competitive lifting. I have never been a gym person and now, I can say that I'm right where I'm supposed to be with the people I'm supposed to be there with.

The Level Method meets people where they are and moves them up a ladder towards greater achievement - from no pullups to 10, from 200 lbs to 175 - the examples of outperformance by members at Iron Haven are legion. The workouts are varied, challenging, thought provoking (yes!) and fun. I've been working out for years and learn something new every day I walk through the door. No more dreary workouts in the garage or sleepy gyms! I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could. Come say hello!

This gym is a universe! Stacy signed us up in the spring of…read more2025 and gave us an awesome tour of Club NW. We've since brought friends in to check out this great gym, and Tanya was happy to give us a tour as walk-ins--thank you! I'll update this review later, but so far, I've only ever found rock climbing gyms to be this exciting. I really appreciate the wide range of activities and options available here. It's kid-inclusive, disability-inclusive, and offers designated times and spaces to make certain areas safer for different groups. There's also a spa with many services, plus other highlights like a fresh juice and food café, saltwater pools, a rock climbing wall, hot tub, kids' area, online classes, and rotating displays of local artists' work each month. I ran into a family member and my obgyn which was pleasant. I could go on. It also happens to be a place where AMR ambulances are stationed while waiting for calls, which is pretty unique. Love it. The one downside I'll mention has to do with gym members, not gym itself. It is important to share though. One experience we had at the pool last July. While pregnant, I regularly swam laps as part of my exercise routine. One day, I invited friends visiting from Oakland to join my partner and me at CNW. One of my friends is an excellent swimmer and instructor. While we were swimming laps, we noticed repeated, intentional, and uncomfortable staring from a group of men in the hot tub. I asked if they were waiting for the pools or something. We were not breaking any rules, being disorderly, or abusing time limits. The energy was noticeable and felt by ALL of us. Perhaps it's worth noting that some older, Caucasian gym members may prefer an environment that reflects Oregon's earlier history. I'm not saying CNW itself is racist, but it would feel incomplete not to share what we experienced that day.

We had a party here, which they plan after a full day of kids playing in there so it's not sanitized before. And they are worried about outside food or drink yet have literal sh*t on the floor. Our toddler is now sick from being there, definitely will never be back.
